Hmmm indeed, bit long in the tooth to be nipping down the wing.

And, not wishing to be negative here, but I just can't see much resale value for a winger who has been hanged, beheaded and quartered on at least one occasion.

The QPR summer transfer rumours thread on 12:32 - Aug 21 by ichbinnaughty | I know this is a commonly held view that’s been said many times before but if we get some coinage from Eze, I’d want us to go get Edwards from Saints - known quality and can be highly effective in both CB and CM positions. Knows us, probably would be happy to come back. This would be the number 1 thing we could do. |
I would love to have him back but I don't see Saints letting him go for less than our budget. It'd probably cost all of our Eze money in one hit.

I guess they wanted more than we were willing to pay. Still don't understand the logic of this with Smyth and Kolli on the bench. Surely we need a LB, CB or CM?

He’d pass a QPR medical though [Post edited 21 Aug 13:13]

The QPR summer transfer rumours thread on 13:12 - Aug 21 with 1610 views | aston_hoop | Would leave us with Dembele, Poku, Chair, Smyth, Kolli, Bennie, Sutton, Vale who can all play wide if needed So presume Sutton could be a loan? Not the worst thing for him if we can get him a decent club.

Sounds like something Lyndon Dykes would have ran off in-game

Probably sign them both for shits and giggles. LBs and CMs clearly overrated in the algorithm's view.

At least there won't be any issues dreaming up a song for him: "Silko: It's where the trade go". Now, where's that coat rack?

Don't think the club want to spend that much though. Nourry was pretty emphatic at the forum that they wouldn't be spending it all. Also we need a LB and a CM before another CB, surely. As much as I loved Handsome Ronnie idk if that fixes our problems...

I think Derby have offered £5m for Saito (seems way too much), but we offered £2m + add ons. Spread the FFP I suppose. The Saito signing always seemed odd, as while hardworking he didn't really do anything to suggest a £5m fee. Seems we've been after Silko Thomas for a few years, like Poku. Smyth has not signed the new contract that has been offered so it could be that he is sold this transfer window, else he leaves on a free next summer. Something CN in fairness has repeatedly said he doesn't want to happen. Any fee is better than nothing.

The QPR summer transfer rumours thread on 14:33 - Aug 21 with 978 views | rbee | I wouldn't be surprised if Saints would want more than our Eb's money but if we have the chance to add some real quality to the squad then I am all for it. If Ronnie keeps progressing then there is always the chance of a big profit on his sale.

He’s a very likeable guy, but £5m is mental.

Not sure what we'd be paying but Transfermarkt reckons 175k (not exactly a great source but I can't even find out how tall he is). That's a lot less than £5m, though I have to say that it's unfortunate that we spent all season getting him acclimatised to Champ football only for him to use that for Derby...
The QPR summer transfer rumours thread on 14:38 - Aug 21 with 932 views | RBlock | Ronnie Edwards is a class act, but I'm not sure I get the clamouring for him on here. Yes, he did brilliantly on loan and will likely progress, but it's not a position that is a priority for us and it would take budget away from bolstering the midfield and fullback positions. Just doesn't seem like the wisest use of limited funds IMO.

Can't Ronnie play in all of those positions? His versatility would be very useful. All conjecture as he is likely already out of our league.
The QPR summer transfer rumours thread on 15:10 - Aug 21 with 638 views | WestbourneR | Saito is a real player and a lot more than just ‘hardworking’ And he’ll be an easy sell for £5 million after one more season in the Champ But I still don’t think we should or will spend £5 million on him ourself. It’s just not our market. £2 million plus add ons would be a real steal however. He brings something really different to the team I notice Wilkins confidence in his judgement on players hasn’t been dented by Eze’s move to Arsenal. I think that knocks your ‘never play for a top club’ assessment to where it belongs.

How is it not a priority though? You think Cook will last a whole season?

Classic mistaken downvote - completely agree. £2m feels about right on his potential

No, but Morrison, Mbengue, Cook, JCS (lol), Dunne (although leaves us short at RB), and Field potentially are all options before getting on to Tylon Smith or Akindenli. Fullback cover where we currently have Dunne and Adamson on the right and Esqui on the left feels far more a priority where we are pretty bare bones.
