As they have already started, we need a thread. Suspect most of these will be wrong/clickbait sites, but lets store them in one place.

As has been previously mentioned, does this signal the departure of Smyth?

Thing is Saito and Smyth don’t get cramp after 60 mins, or 67 yesterday. Saito is a good decision

Hopefully Chair and Poku will be back soon and we will have too many wide players.

Too much for me, cheaper to tie Smyth down to a new contract and invest in centre mid.

I dont think Smyth wants to be tied down.

Nothing too kinky.

Saito comes with shirt sales in mind and future sale projections

He’s a million miles away from the actual type of player we need.
Don’t get me wrong, I like the little fella; but, he’s not a six foot ‘orrible git and we need at least three of those at the moment

Cherish and enjoy life.... this ain't no dress rehearsal

I read that he turned down a new contract. Be interesting to know why, logically he is seeing his playing time reduced by the influx of new wide players.

Having expressed his love for the club many times perhaps he just needs an arm around the shoulder and confirmation that he is still a valued member of the squad. Problem is I can't think of anyone at the club who would make a good job of doing that.

If Ben Williams put his arm round your shoulder, you'd come away with a hamstring injury.

At 2.8 million I struggle to see any future profit.

Agree with you about the gits!

If he is coming, then he is coming and we have to treat it positively and wish him all the best.

He won't be.

But with where he's at in his career I'm pretty sure he'd want a regular starting berth.

It's not going to happen as he's going to be expensive, has more than a dozen appearances at this level and is a known quality = doesn't fit the algorithm

logially dodnt make any sense him coming to us but he did make the england swaud whjile playing playing for us last season , could be done to. alack of english player playing on a reg basis as well but id have thought his performances got him in the squad either way .

I still think he's in because Chair may get a bigger club move either in the next few days or in the new year window. If that is the case Chair may go for £6-8m and Koki will be the replacement for that position for under £3m. That's the logic I think in this. Remember Koki is 24 and £2.8m may be £5m+ in a few years time, if we stay up.

Never knowingly right.

Saito definitely has resell value. If he builds on his first season over the next 2 years, he'll be reaching his prime as a top player in the division. That is on us now to make sure we have a decent team for him to play in and get the most out of the future value of varane, Morrison, Mbengue, Kone etc

Chair has been a great player for us over the years but who on earth is going to pay £6-8 million for him? If we get him fit and getting goals and assists we might boost his value for a sale in January but at the moment we’d be lucky to clear a few million for him I’m afraid.

There are people on Twitter saying QPR are talking to Southampton about Edwards ...

I mean there's just no way... Is there? Seems even less likely than it did 24 hours ago given the money spent already?

My mate who gave me the dodgy rumours about Max Lowe (wrong) and Kone (correct) is saying that Edwards is coming in on a loan-to-perm deal.

Apparently Southampton don't want him, so rumour is that 3m+ addons and a hefty sell-on would be all it takes next year...

I guess such a deal is possible because it kicks the cost onto next year where we might have moved a couple of players on.

Offer Chair to Southampton and get Edwards, either straight swap or a couple of million in it. I like Chair, but Edwards may give us a greater return in a couple of seasons. Now we have Saito the options have changed

I too have heard that Edwards is in contention (£4m) not from social media but still probably crap. I love the signings so far, concerned that the manager doesn't know how to knit them together (and get them fit, hungry and angry) and more than anything wonder if we've won the lottery because none of it makes sense. I thought a dribble of Ebs money would be spent on transfers and the rest on debt.

Not another Eze thread but the way Arsenal played against Leeds where will he actually slot in that team seems loaded with talent .
You mentioned on another thread Edwards loved it here Dave is it just less pressure than the PL, or his game is more suited to the Championship or the fans just welcomed him like he was one of our own and he was thrilled with that.
After Saturday he is the one signing that can make us believe again IMO.
Score 2+ a game and keep them out at our end that will mean success this season

Where are the "new signing" articles that Clive usually post? Is he away? Those are just about my favorite features of loftforwords. Usually provides great insights.
