It'd be great if we can get them to speak in unison, like those strange australian twins who occasionally come up on social media feeds.

That could be Clive's challenge for every match preview, coming up with new and ever more unlikely past jobs for our dynamic Anglo-Spanish management duo. He can have these two excellent opening suggestions as a free hit to kick off the season...only 46 more to go (maybe more if we have a cup ru...er, no, 46 it is).

Yes and it's Noury driving the 'method' anyway. It doesn't seem to get much of a mention but Warburton also had us playing, or trying to, in a similar manner.

There probably is a team I’ve forgotten but I don’t recall any team in this league playing a proper 4-4-2 this season. Two genuine strikers. Wide players who want to cross the ball to those strikers. Midfielders who can do a bit of everything. It’ll never work. The kids would call it Brexit football now.

If you think this QPR team get overrun in midfield a bit too much now, imagine in a 4-4-2! Not sure there are many clubs with the midfield strength in this division to pull it off against teams who pack the midfield more

Yeah, we should get Sinclair back. Really struggled without his goals this season.

Absolutely. I’m not suggesting we try it with this bunch of wasters. There’d be about three hamstrings left between them by October. I’m just a bit surprised nobody has built a squad for that sort of football.
English manager next for QPR on 21:14 - May 2 with 1402 views | numptydumpty | I think the days where this kind of thinking were dominant were the days when half the land voted for Brexit to control and stop immigration. That was a success too !!! Like others have said, they can come from "Button Moon" for all i care. As long as they can build an attractive successful team from the scraps we currently have in place and then we can move forwards once more. You obviously not a lover of the celts or the gaelic brigade either.... I think maybe you were just trying to imply you wanted old school bang it up to the big guys up front. There's more likelihood of that in today's world as to myself or many others on here miraculously entering the Sunday Times Rich List....... [Post edited 2 May 21:18]

I just think this is the thing, you can put together far more effective sides with less risk playing other systems. Most systems as long as they have the physicality and pace should take apart a 4-4-2. I actually wouldn't deviate that far from where we were this season at times, just a ton more strength and pace. Some proper physical midfielders, quick full backs, at least one quick wide man (no not you Smythy, someone with end product) and we'd look a lot better immediately. I imagine Cifuentes knew this though.

Betsy would be an OK name for a blonde barmaid from Wigan, but it's a ridiculous name for a man - like Pansy or Quimby. Mind you, if he came in and did well, it'd be worth it for the 'Heavens to Betsy' headlines. On that basis, I'm in! [Post edited 2 May 22:04]
