Exactly. Especially as he is sometimes tasked with drawing away defenders to allow other players the space to take a shot, as explained in the podcast I posted on another thread.
Also as you say those players are way out of our budget. Even if we could afford their wages, the transfer fees for Piroe, Saintz, Conway etc would be more like €10 million than the €1-2 million we could afford. | | | |

Was thinking of posting exactly the same thing. A bit older than is ideal but I believe he’s out of contract. Would be good to play on the left if we didn’t get to sign Koki. Ryan Hardie has got a great scoring record but is in his late 20s and would presumably cost a fair bit too. |  | | |

Maybe to get automatic promotion but not the play offs. Sunderland and Coventry each only had one player who scored double figures in goals. Bristol City and Sheffield Utd each had two.
Middlesbrough had three and didn't make the play offs.
We definitely needed our forwards to score more though. Especially Celar. Also more from midfield - no-one scored more than three from midfield. If only Celar had scored as many as Frey - so not outlandish - we'd have scored more/as many as Sunderland/Bristol City. | | | |

Sharing them out's the name of the game these days, imho.
Look at Frey & Kolli's goals per minutes played ratios, both would have been double figures had they stayed fit / played more. Chair usually good for 7 or 8 a season if fit, he's also our main assister - his absence was keenly felt. |  |

andy thomson, with 27, is one player i can think of who got 20 or more.
Gallen when he came back, played all over to help the team, he never got 20.
we had furlong, helguson and adel, i don't think they got 20.
we have had many loans up front as well, this year injuries crippled us but if FREY was ever fit for 30 games he'd get into double figures, he looks powerful and works hard .
squad rotation these days probably affects goal scoring ?

Weirdly enough, the season we did have 3 players sharing out over 40 goals between them (Hugill, Wells and Eze) we conceded over 70.
