The reason they want him, is because he doesn't mind lots of players being sold. Lens sold their best players, and Still was able to manage that. So the reason we want him, is because when we sell anyone that's any good, he will be able to manage the situation. So many years of selling our best players, and signing poor ones. If we didn’t know otherwise, and hadn’t had our expectations lowered quite so much, we would have to think that a story about appointing Still was a joke.
We need a manager to build a new team pretty much from scratch, get us out of the Championship and then maintain us in the PL.
Is Will Still the man to do this? Who the f*ckety f*ck knows. But what I do know is that it’s yet another Solak gamble and that Solak’s track record is appalling.
And I wouldn’t trust Spors to make the right decision either. He’s also completely unproven. | |

Totally agree. Let's say by some miracle we get promoted. How an earth is 32 year old Will Still with no experience of managing in England going to know what to do in the PL? He will be out of his depth in the championship let alone the PL. It's another disaster of an appointment that stinks of cheap and lacking ambition yet again from these stupid owners. We need a massive rebuild. It needs an experienced head to sort this out, not a young rookie, thinking he knows it all. It resembles a Nathan Jones appointment. This will be another Sport Republic disaster. [Post edited 20 May 21:36]

Without stating the obvious, the championship is a very tough league. Will Still will have to do a lot of learning in this league before he is any good. He will make too many mistakes and will cost us. If you have ambitions of promotion, appoint a tried and tested manager with promotions on their cv, and championship experience. Sport Republic are absolute jokers, destroying our club. | |

I tend to agree with you here Cocklebreath.
I do not know anything about Will Still. I knew little about Russell Martin, even less about Juric. McMenemy when he joined us did not come jangling with football medals but for me he was the best thing that ever happened to the club.
Whether Still is appointed or whoever it may be i just hope whoever it is can start to turn this mess around on the pitch. But, we need to be realistic - it is a mess on and off the pitch and it won't be just a case of getting the right manager. There are a whole host of other things that need to be sorted as well. It will be good to get the person in place though from the close of this season at the end of this weekend so they can start the huge amount of work they will have ahead of them to get some sort of team ready for the start of this next season. | | | |

I still (no pun) think we need Cooper or Dyche to instill some solidity and graft into the team and bring in proven players to compete and fight

Yep agree cocklebreath.
I heard all the moaning last season before RM was announced but I had an open mind then and lo and behold he got us promoted and we went on a 25 game unbeaten run .
I have an open mind about Will Still too. He sounds a promising appointment and he has many admirers from what I’ve read. Yes it’s a risk but I like the sound of this Spors chap and I think he could shake things up here a bit .
Some Fans need to be more realistic as we are no longer a big attraction. |  |

I hope the reports of Will Still being appointed are untrue It's a huge gamble, when we don't need to take such a risk. A good experienced manager, parachute payments and a full SMS would be enough to see us challenging fir promotion. Why take the chance on an inexperienced kid with no track record???
