You say that, but they haven't kicked a ball for us yet, like any signings the proof is in the performances so I'm hoping for the very best, but we don't know what we'll get until they play. |
My thought on things aswell, a lot of excitement that is down to our early recruitment and has got our tails up and rightly so....it stands out more due to the fact that we haven't been this pro active for quite a few seasons.
As for our actual recruitments, it's been encouraging and aside from Burgess it's certainly going to be unknown and fingers crossed that Widell,Inoussa and Wales can take the step up to the level and adapt to living away from home at a young age.
Santos is another roll of the dice given his age and not playing at this level before.
I don't think we should take anything for granted and our experiences of Vipotnik and Eom for example should make us be a little bit more patient with the younger players signed this summer.
I'm being quite cautious given my reasons above plus I still feel there is quite a bit of work to be done to make the team and squad competitive. There is a lot of work being done by other championship clubs that is pretty impressive with Derby chasing had for the USA striker and Oxford close to a Belgian midfielder in the Dutch top flight......the club needs to get a move on with some impressive signings in the next couple of weeks to try and keep the feel good factor going into the pre season games atleast. |  |

Barring an exceptional July and lots of players gelling really well, I think it’s still a bit soon for us to be top end competitive. I think we’ll blow some teams away, but will struggle with consistency.
We’ve got quality but are short on numbers in both fullback positions and centre midfield. We have the opposite issue up front.

I know this kid really well - he's at the same youth team as my boy (as was Kyrell Wilson)
Boy played against him in a tournament a couple of weeks back when the team has two sides out.
Bags of talent but still definately a youth player atm.
Could well be one for the future but IMO Kyrell was a bit further ahead at the same age. [Post edited 1 Jul 12:17]

When you look at everyone they are linked with they are not doing very well. The Hollywood factor doesn't come into play in the Championship, the ambitious players are looking for the best chance to progress, older players will take the money and that's their normal signing. |  | | |

He can't be judged on one game I thought he was very good in the play off semis against Stockport and his stats from last season are very good
