We Love QPR and give best reasons why 20:08 - Jun 1 with 2680 views | hoops_legend | Hey all, just wanted to start a nice thread about QPR and why we love them so much I am proud of the club and am always happy I support them above those who choose an easy option and support teams that always win and are always disappointed when they lose. So why do we love qpr… please give 1-5!reasons and let’s see why they are so special 1) QPR have the best kit - I don’t care what they say and perhaps it’s a reason why we don’t win (it’s been well documented teams in red usually win) but I think the blue and white hoops are classic 2) loftus road is one of few old school stadiums which fully understands proper football and never fails to delivery 3) I don’t think other clubs at our level can claim to have talents like we have in the past. I would have stan Bowles, adel Taarabt and Ebere Eze any day 4) we don’t always win … infact we rarely win and when we do - it always feels special! Yes it makes me miserable most wins when we don’t but when we do win - it’s great 5) don’t want to be a suck up but Northern R aka Clive. No other team can claim to have such a nut who writes absolute classics on their team week in and week out. Honestly I prefer read his write ups better than the highlights Come on what are your thoughts

We Love QPR and give best reasons why on 20:19 - Jun 1 with 2142 views | qpr_1968 | Well this is my honest answer.... 1/...first of all they were my nearest club, i was'nt going to entertain any other club 2/....got to know all the local lads from surrounding areas, and most are still my mates today.....all through qpr. 3/...proud to have taken all my children, nephews, nieces and grandson, and proudly watch them wear the colours even until this day. 4/...after 57 years of following this great club, a hobby has turned into an obssesion. 5/ ...and finally......qpr are my second family.

We Love QPR and give best reasons why on 21:51 - Jun 1 with 2029 views | mart_Goblin | 1) apparently had a season ticket at 18 months old with my father so I had no chance . I dont remember my first game though 2) fell in love with the kit at a very young age and still think our home kit is the best in the country when it’s done right 3) for most of the year it’s the only place I get to see my son who I’m sure at times hates me for passing down the QPR obsession / affliction. We meet up with my dad after the game too who still has a season ticket in SAR. It’s not just football , it’s family 4) marrying a QPR fan which is incredible 5) our fan base who are so patient and so proud yet so passionate. I love being part of that family too
We Love QPR and give best reasons why on 21:59 - Jun 1 with 2012 views | bosh67 | When I was 5 my dad took me to see a game at Loftus Road under the lights and we played and beat Aston Villa, I believe. I immediately fell in love with the blue and white hoops and Loftus Road.

We Love QPR and give best reasons why on 22:03 - Jun 1 with 1984 views | numptydumpty | I was working in Southwark, my first proper job and often went to home games after work The most memorable was the moment when viewing on the East Paddock with my friend and Sansom bullet shot into bottom corner of the Arsenal goal in a FA Cup replay. Pouring with rain, got totally drenched, but that feeling when that goal went in and it was coming too, well I thought we could be a really top team. One of the best moments at the stadium. Recently the moment Dunne scored with a volley in the last minute. Wow !!! What a moment. Loved it.

We Love QPR and give best reasons why on 22:26 - Jun 1 with 1919 views | SK_hoops | When you meet a QPR fan you have a proper connection, not like man u fans living in London meeting one another. We have proper loyal fans. Our away support is amazing. Bit annoying in one way, as I couldn't get Millwall or Portsmouth tickets this year, even though I have a ST. On its day (Liverpool 3-2, Oldham semi final etc...) LR has such an incredible atmosphere. Shame it doesn't get like that more. Only team with a W postcode, making us the only out and out west London club. Witnessing what, in my completely unbiased opinion, I believe to be the greatest goal ever scored. Sinclair v Barnsley.

We Love QPR and give best reasons why on 10:11 - Jun 2 with 1646 views | Ghost_on_the_Westway | Short answer: The shirt. Thankfully we don't fck it up very often, either. Saw this team on The Big Match one fateful 70’s Sunday afternoon in these AMAZING SHIRTS, running rings round some dreary, boring-shirted team when I was about 8 or 9. Old Brian Moore kept saying “Rangers” and “Queens Park Rangers” and I thought that was really different, too. This team could have been from the other end of the country for all I knew, but I asked my Dad (Bees fan, bless him) and, thankfully, he didn’t say “you’re not supporting those bstrds” and just said “ Oh, Queen’s Park Rangers, they’re up the road. You were born near their ground” and something about the 117 bus. Queen Charlottes, of course. So that was it. [Post edited 2 Jun 10:14]

We Love QPR and give best reasons why on 11:15 - Jun 2 with 1537 views | NorthantsHoop | First game I went to in 1972, QPR v Carlisle, my Dad taking me in the 1970s. The Venables era in the early 80s, season tickets going with my mates, some great away trips. Simon Stainrod personal favourite player of that era. Going again and having a season ticket in the last 11 years after a very long break, the memories and the hope one day that we might just turn it around.

In more modern times I think we still feel "real' in an age of plastic overseas TV fans and glory hunter muppets flooding social media with their pathetic attempts at banter about the "big" clubs. In 50 years of going to Loftus Road, that Sansom goal is probably the one that sticks out the most for me. It was just perfect. I was standing in the Loft for that game. Great, great memories and as you say, it was absolutely pouring down, but it didn't matter. Also agree re the Dunne goal against Birmingham. I'd put Charlie Austin's late (offside) header against West Brom a few years ago up there too. For me the main reason for supporitng QPR is cos my Dad and his Dad supported them, as they lived in Shepherd's Bush. I go with my daughter now so she's 4th generation and I love the fact that she loves it even though we've been largely cr*p since I've been taking her *Edit - this was supposed to be a reply to your first post on this thread numpty [Post edited 3 Jun 7:34]

We Love QPR and give best reasons why on 08:47 - Jun 3 with 983 views | thehat | It's crazy really how can you love something so much when the vast majority of the time they make you angry and ruin your weekends. My wife always checks the full time scores so she knows what type of mood we will be in when we return home from a game. Okay so here goes: 1) My family are all from West London and were season ticket holders. My first game with my Dad was in 1975. 2) Going with my children now it allows me to spend quality time with them especially pre match food (normally pie, mash & liquor). The pre match drinks with other members of my family and friends. Buying a akutrs from Dave. 3) The location and "old skool" stadium - I bloody love the place. 4) Those rare moments of joy that other fans (of big clubs) just wouldn't appreciate. 5) And finally a shout out to this site and Clive's writing too. We are very lucky to have such talent as one of our own. It's been my church for over 50 years now - Whatever else has gone on in my life that lovely little blue oasis set right in the heart of West London has always been there for me.

My Dad brought me as a baby, and all my family supported Rangers, but none of them care anymore. Which just leaves you lot (and maybe a hundred non-LFW fans). You can't shake me, boys and girls.

We Love QPR and give best reasons why on 10:30 - Jun 3 with 878 views | terryb | I'm not sure that I "love" Rangers, although I think my wife would say that I do! I watched quite a few games in the 67/68 promotion season & celebrated like mad after the win at Villa Park, but Rangers were not my "main" team. Liverpool held that distinction of FL clubs & I even went to Anfield rather than LR for our first game in the top division. This is something that I definitely regret! I think it was the win at home to Ipswich for our first victory of the season, that I realised Queens Park Rangers had won my soul & the feeling grew with every defeat we suffered that season. I even gave up playing on a Saturday to follow Rangers home & away for the 69/70 season. How many games have I enjoyed watching our team over the years? Probably a low percentage, but I can't imagine any match we're playing that I'm able to concerntrate on anything other than MY TEAM!

We Love QPR and give best reasons why on 11:40 - Jun 3 with 798 views | HoopinEssex | Love QPR because it represents alot about me When my parents came over from Ireland the first place they stayed was Shepherd's Bush. Born and bred west London around Kilburn. All my friends I grew up with were QPR fans. My dad supported Celtic but always had a soft spot for QPR. Always told me if I supported a London team it had to be QPR. If it was Chelsea he would kick me out of the house. One of my older mates was a huge ranges fan. Took .e to my first game in 91 when I was 12. Wegerle scored in a 1-1 draw with Coventry. I was sold. The crowd, the kit, the stadium. I love that we are not like all the others. Our fans are not plastic and most genuinely have a connection with the club. God bless QPR.
We Love QPR and give best reasons why on 11:55 - Jun 3 with 775 views | GaryBannister86 | Born in Queen Charlotte's, lived as a child close enough to walk to the games. Dad opening the sunroof to punch the air when on holiday in Scotland and Clive Allen scored to put us in the cup final. The pride of outplaying Spurs in the replay, but having no luck. Totally smitten from that point on, everything always QPR. Going home, and occasionally away, with Dad with that excellent mid-late eighties early nineties period. The West Ham cup tie at home. Gary Bannister, of course. Super Ray, Les, Tricky Trev. Then going with mates home and always away during the complete rubbish that came after that. Then having a son and watching him become just as nuts about it as I am. Seeing Dad grinning from ear to ear at Wembley after Bobby Z '89. Dad's final top he wore being blue and white hoops. The ecstasy of Luton away with my boy last season, the last before he went to Uni. Missing him like crazy but still going to games. Loving having him back during the holidays. Family + friends = what QPR is all about for me.

Agree on the Sansom goal. Had just started seeing a girl who said she didn't like football. Ended up with a spare ticket after a mate couldn't make it and asked her as a joke. To my surprise she said yes and absolutely loved it despite the torrential rain. I distinctly remember yelling "hit it!" as it came to Sansom and then pandemonium in the Loft. Then lots of Arsenal pressure before we got the second on the counter attack at the end. In many ways the perfect cup win after getting a draw at Highbury (Parker's late miss there has also never left me!). Springbok afterwards where one of ours took offence to my mate being a Man Utd fan. Lots of "calm down, calm down" type stuff before he looked elsewhere for amusement. Same guy once tried to start a fight in the Loft by pretending to be Millwall and later ended up working in the Loft as a steward 😄 [Post edited 4 Jun 3:18]
