Think it's the right decision. A player whose offered some good moments for us but doesn't seem to have the quality to regularly feature going forward.

I have to disagree, I feel we should have offered him a one year extension, based on his Championship nous if nothing else. Possibly we did and at almost 31 I can understand why he would not accept that

I remember when he came in and I don't think I could've imagined a more typical QPR number 10 maverick player. Some great moments but unfortunately his legs have gone and he cannot compete every week at this level. Thank you for the service Jesus, won't forget the Leeds and Preston goals

Not for me.

Mind willing body not able for 30 plus games at this level.

Huge thanks for his efforts after he signed but last season showed he's going downhill rapid in terms of getting about the pitch.

Really pleased for him that for most of us a memory of his almost last kick of a ball in our colours was that absolute barn burner at PNE

All the best for the future

Cherish and enjoy life.... this ain't no dress rehearsal

The timing of the announcement suggests we did explore an extension but either couldn't agree terms or changed our minds. The question is what squad role would he have played next season. According to Google and my complete lack of knowledge of Julien Stephan he has played 4-4-2, 4-4-3, and 4-2-3-1. Assuming he doesn't play double defensive midfielders (which surely would be wasting our abundance of attackings 10s) and plays a system with two wingers and a 10 of some description. Where would Andersen rank in the pecking order in our squad. First choice is surely Chair, with the major caveat that he equally could be used on the left. After him, Dembele, Morgan, and potentially Vale. Personally, I feel that Andersen now lacks the energy to break forward from midfield in the Championship, and I would therefore rather play those other options ahead of him. Furthermore, at his age, he will likely only get worse. Andersen will never generate a fee in the manner that Varane is attracting offers. A year of Andersen is a year wasted in which the same minutes could have been given to developing a punt who may (or equally may not) potentially generate a future fee.

He looked well off the pace by the end of the season, think this is the right decision.

Correct decision. No more contracts for being a nice bloke, please.

No complaints from me.
Good player in his day. But those days are behind him.

Good luck to the bloke and I hope we'd welcome him back. As a spectator.

I bet he’s really cross - always thought he was nailed on.

Leaving with stigmata.

Those possessed by devils, try and keep them under control a bit, can't you ?

Yep. Played his part in keeping us up in the first season but was painful to watch for most of last. Lovely player on his day, good bloke clearly and probably has something to offer in a slower league but not the level or style of player we need. We’ll always have the Preston goal.

As Nourry says ''Lucas played a critical role in our remaining an EFL Championship club in the 2023/24 campaign.'' Best not mention the 2024/25 campaign.

I am disappointed to see him go but that is really heart over head mainly based upon the impact that he had when he first arrived.

Thanks Lucas and really all the best for the future.

Decent signing, good decision.

Pivotal in keeping us up, but sadly the legs just weren't there anymore, so make sense to bid adieu.

And we will always have the Good Friday pinger.

Thanks Lucas.

The right decision. Excellent in keeping us up jn season 1, clearly not up to it now but delighted he went out on a high at Preston. Also seemed to get the club, which was nice. Its correct he goes but one I'll say is always welcome back. Good luck Lucas.

I wonder if Lucas has left due to Jimmy's insistence on having instant coffee when meeting up with him in Chiswick coffee bars? You can tell Lucas is a coffee w@nker.

Bumped into Lucas quite a few times and can say he was genuinely a really good bloke. Always cycling his daughter to school with her in the child seat at the front (as in, not in a big Range Rover).

Always up for a chat, with politeness and a smile.

He is really gutted to leave.

Sad his injury record and fitness meant he wasn't up to it enough to get another contract.

When he first came in he brought a bit of class to proceedings with his decision-making on the ball. Last season it looked like he had run out of steam.

I prefer to think of him having ascended rather than left.

The right decision.

A class act when fully fit and we'll always have the great goals against Leeds and Preston, both of which confirmed safety for another season.

Suffering since 1978.

Agreed: a real pity he didn’t seem to be able to stay match fit last season and struggled to make an impact. Enjoyed watching him in the blue and white hoops overall.

correct decsion, his drop off was wild last season but overall a good signing and made a positive contribution

Wasn't his goal against Preston on Good Friday.

He helped us last season. Sure was good around the dressing room this.

But yes sensible to cut ties now as only just about decent enough now to be a squad player and our model now which I do feel is sensible is to bring in the new.

He tried his best and thats all we ask of any Rangers player.

Bon voyage Lucas
