England women’s team 21:58 - Jul 4 with 43942 viewsstowmarketrange

Anyone else going to Zurich tomorrow night? We are sat behind one of the goals in section B11,and although I’ll be wearing an England shirt rather than a QPR one,I’ll be waving my QPR flag, especially if Chloe comes on.
Come on England.

Great result.
I do think ,women's football needs to prove itself and not just expect blokes in their 50s to except it just because other blokes in their 50s tells them they should except it.
Top result. I didn't watch it cos I wasn't arsed. But great result.

I told you you were a lucky charm. What a day you must have had! I watched it at home with the kids. My daughter who you kindly sorted out with a ticket for the last Euros final is mad about football and dreaming of one day being the next QPR fan to score in a major final.
This team is special. An inspiration for so many young footballers. Happy days!

My daughter took the video as Chloe scores the winning penalty. If I wasn’t such a dinosaur I’d upload it on here.

There was also another QPR flag behind us with the R block and Chloe’s name on it.3 QPR flags in the one ground.

Absolutely outstanding achievement to go back to back and beating a very strong Spain team in the final. The never say die attitude of this England team is incredible. Lucy Bronze played the whole tournament with a fractured tibia. They made the world cup final despite 3 of their best players being out of the tournament injured.

Always felt Spain, as good as they are, are gettable. They play nice football but if you can get one goal against them you are in it. Great to see Kelly smash in the winning penalty, scored the winning goal in both finals and assisted the equalisers in the semi and final.

The women may need a different song to three lions, it isn't really suited to teams that are winning tournaments!

Incredible stuff, Spain by far the better team in extra time but the mentality of the Lionesses is just unmatched. First England team of either gender to win an overseas tournament as well, absolutely stunning achievement.

The mentality reminds me of the men's rugby world cup team in 2003. Never fazed, always composed and utter belief in themselves.

I just heard that Chloes penalty was the hardest shot of the whole tournament, 110 km/hr.

The precision of her shooting and crossing is right up there. This girl knows what she's doing with the ball at her feet!

Also, given the wretched time she experienced at the latter stage of her time at City, even being omitted from Sarina's squad at the start of the year IIRC, is a testamont to her character. Gone from languishing in Manchester to twice conquering Europe in six months. Good on her.

From her post game interview "Thank you to everyone that wrote me off, I'm grateful." and it was said with plenty of feeling.

Well more emphasis is going to be placed on our womens team being developed and the success of the England girls is going to improve the profile of the domestic womens game too.

Wonder what sort of crowds a QPR womens team that hopefully moves up the leagues could bring in. Think they could have a certain young lady proving to be a very good ambassador for the team in years ahead...

Yep, Hemp was outstanding too.

Nah Hemp was doing her best Paul Smyth impression - plenty of energy and running but final ball was terrible every time. Been the same for each game I watched her in the tournament. Compared with the output from Kelly.

Never mind though, what a win! Hopefully they can teach our men a thing or two about winning mentality.

It was a great watch, so weird to watch England in a final and not feel the kind of stress and anxiety I did with the mens last year, caring a bit less made it a bit more enjoyable.
Plus thats the first time I've ever seen a senior team win anything as I was away in 2022 so again a really weird feeling seeing us actually achieve something.

Thought they played well, defended superbly especially Jess Carter who had been ropey earlier in the tournament but immense yesterday.

Chloe Kelly is a gem, her cross for the goal and her penalty justy superb in key momenbts, imsgaine scoring the winning goal in two finals, she deserves all the plaudits coming her way

I do enjoy the imperfections of the womens game, lots of mistakes makes for a far better game than you get at the top of the mens game where everything has become quite robotic

Be good if QPR posted something about Chloe on the offish site. One of our own winning a major title only comes around every three years, so max it Rs.

Spanish media cwying about Chloe's penalty win celebration, claiming she deliberately switched directions to goad the goalie. If she did, good, because when she saved Beth Mead's retaken penalty, she clearly made some kind of gesture herself.
Unless every player is mic'd up, we don't hear all the interactions between the team mates and oppositions during the game. For all we know Coll could have been mouthing off at every opportunity.

They all do it, and IIRC the Spain girls were dancing around the German team bus after the semi final win, but that OK, eh?

Still, I guess it's all about click bait & sensationalism these days.

Maybe they don’t give a stuff what men in their 50s think 🤷‍♂️ Like a lot of folk.

Apologies if I missed some form of joke sarcasm 🥳
