I totally agree about despising SR Ron, for sure. But Dibling is a sulky g!t. I would be happy to get him out for 40 million, but how much of it would go on the team?
I guess we'll always be thinking what could have been regarding how good Dibling is at a different time, different managers, different owners. He's looked really poor every time I've watched Saints. [Post edited 31 Jul 23:15]

I guess we shall see how good he is, when he goes to another club. Personally, I am a lot more impressed with Robinson, mainly because he seems to have a great, hard working attitude, whereas Dibling just looks miserable and sulks around the pitch. There may well be some real talent there, if he gives his all, but I've not seen much from him in terms of goals, free kicks, corners or the Rooney moment of scoring from 30 yards at 16 years old, or Le Tissier taking it around 5 players and scoring at 18. It’s on record on here that I said Dibling will reach the very top and I said that after seeing him in a pre season game against Millwall last season and I said he reminded me of Le Tissier.
i still say that, mark my words he’ll get there at the very top level playing in the right team with the right manager . People who say he hasn’t got it obviously haven’t seen his hat trick for saints U 21’s against Newcastle at St James Park. I suggest you google it . You can’t teach that, you have it or you don’t.

I agree. The last Saints' player who got called 'sulky' by some of our fans was Sadio Mane and look what he went on to achieve. Dibling has that apparently effortless style that Cole Palmer and Jack Grealish have. They make it look easy. [Post edited 1 Aug 9:51]

I can't work out whether Dibling is just a sulky kid or if we have just mis-judged him ?
He obviously has talent, but agree he did go awol in a number of games last season. The possession based football under Martin wouldn't have helped his game, and then he had to adapt to a number of manager changes. His end delivery was also questionable at times as well.
I would be happy to let him go and use money to re-build team, if someone is prepared to pay stupid money. The figure on the rumour sites is that we turned down £27m from Everton. How much of this is agents stirring things up, we don't know. I can't see anyone paying the £40-50m being touted on him.
Based on his lazy demeanour, we would have kicked Le-Tiss out years before he made a name for himself. I think we have to accept, he is still very young and learning. | | | |

Lots of comments on his attitude which are fair enough, but before the club made him de-motivated he was a class above. He will go on to be a star in the PL.
I would say his value to a PL club, given his potential, is about £60m but if we get about £30m then we'll have to take it. Clubs like us don't have any power in these situations. Our role in life now is just to be a feeder club to the successful ones, hoping our best players will have few good games for us before they leave.
In one sense we're lucky to get anything for him at all. It was only because he was a homesick teenager that he came back from Chelsea. If he hadn't we'd have got basically nothing for him because the bigger clubs are free to choose the best of our academy talent too. It's a sh1t deal for clubs like us but we'd better get used to it, things won't be improving any time soon. | | | |

It’s also worth mentioning that if RM hadn’t made such hard work of getting Saints promoted then we could have brought through Dibling (and any other bright prospects) at the end of our last season in the Championship, instead of throwing him in at the deep end in the Premier League. |  |

On the back end of last season Dibling is not worth £40m but that is the going rate for potentially great players.
In my opinion, he is somebody who plays well when the team are playing well and vice versa, can come across as uninterested when the team is playing poorly.
He is not the sort of player who can inspire those around him to better things. He can make a good team better, but he can't make a poor team better.
If Everton is where he ends up, I can't help thinking that he'll have more of the same man to man marking and double teaming he had last season as Everton are not exactly rich in very good players. | | | |
