Thought he was much improved today myself.
Ran around and pressed a lot more and was more of a presence and looked like a better fit for me with the way we are being set up to play.
Also, he missed most of pre season but was improved from last showings.
Alike wirh Madsen who i was impressed by today. Has a lot of vision on his best form.
We are one game in and fans are on players backs already.
Just a note for some of our followers we are called SUPPORTers !!!

Treat yourself to the goal as a start, his strength to hold off the defender and keep us in posession was vital to the break. Did it a few times too

Celar is not and will never be good enough to represent QPR in the Championship.....why so many posters see it differently is because they do not understand the game property. Of course he will score the odd goal, do something decent in the march, etc, etc but he is nowhere near the level required. And please do not suggest he meant to do what happened for his involvement in our goal....it was shear luck bit I suppose he was there!!!

I was watching Les Ferdinand’s 149 PL goals on Sky this morning and the amount of lovely little final passes from Wilkins (lofted, through ball, you name it)from a slightly advanced midfield position was a sight to see. We are sorely lacking someone that can do that.
I’ll prepare my tinfoil hat but out of the current squad I’d say maybe Madsen could do something a little like that (obviously not to Ray’s standard) but possibly… [Post edited 9 Aug 21:15]

His job was to hold the ball up and hassle the defence.
He failed to hold onto the ball enough, he did manage the lay off which led to the goal and I think he meant it, but I notice that Celar was allowed to the ball first and it just happened to be directly at him.
If he has to move to come onto the ball with his back to goal he cannot do it. He's more of a diagonal pass in front of him, player who then hits it. But we don't play that way and neither do most teams in the Champ.
He's just not good enough, and this idea that he would crack on now is unrealistic. Look who he scored against last season, Cardiff and their defence is gash.
Madsen and he were terrible today. They only looked passable and only at times, as it was PNE.
We now know which three teams are worse than us. Sheff Wed, PNE and Oxford. On the bright side, PNE could go down this season and then be gone for good like Reading. |  |

Rarely scoring strikers seem to be our specialty. Washington, Dykes, Celar. No wonder we struggle.
Cifuentes made the mistake of giving this guy far too many chances. Let’s hope JS doesn’t make the same mistake.

If all we are going to ask of our strikers is to hold the ball up, then we can play someone different in that role. He rarely touches to ball in the final 3rd, and is never on the end of any cross. His runs seem to be an effort to find someone to cover him not get open. He is a zero scoring threat, which we saw today. This team relies on the mids to score.
If all we want is someone to play holdup play, then I would suggest putting Cook or someone in that role. At least he could also play some defence too | | | |
