Harvey Vale 20:54 - Sep 13 with 4561 views | aston_hoop | Deserves his own thread I think, his signing was almost a little but unheralded and I thought he'd have a tough job breaking into the attacking positions for us. But that is 2 starts and 2 really positive performances. He shows for a the ball a lot, he tries things, he is positive, he clearly has technical ability. Just 22 too. Anyone know a ballpark figure of the 'undisclosed fee' we paid for him? [Post edited 13 Sep 20:57]

Harvey Vale on 21:04 - Sep 13 with 4448 views | nix | I agree. He's been creative and moved the ball both forward and quickly. According to the Mail Chelscum waived a fee in return for a hefty sell on clause and performance bonuses. Which sounds like a cracking deal for us, only costing us (wages aside) if he does well.
Harvey Vale on 21:18 - Sep 13 with 4309 views | Malintabuk | Thought he was superb today... Still not quite sure what is his ideal position is. Thought I think an "8". There was a Wrexham attack in the 2nd half and as Nardi claimed a shot, Vale was behind him on the lone
Harvey Vale on 21:23 - Sep 13 with 4266 views | bosh67 | I think he could be big for us. We've been needing a left footed playmaker for ages and he could be it. Has a sort of effortless style about the way he plays.

Harvey Vale on 21:35 - Sep 13 with 4112 views | Lblock | 22 years old? The flick round their player and then buying the foul to stop the game and draw some sting at the time was maturity beyond his years. It was certainly appreciated by Captain Dunne Wrexham certainly couldn’t live with Vale and Burrell down that side first half [Post edited 13 Sep 22:03]

Harvey Vale on 22:01 - Sep 13 with 3897 views | dmm | He's an intelligent player who understands the game. He's mainly played as a 10 or wide left attacker, so he may keep Chair out of the side if he continues his current form. They targeted McLean at RWB today to good effect. The interplay between him and Burrell on the right was excellent. He only turned 22 a few days ago, so he has lots of time to develop even further.

Harvey Vale on 09:50 - Sep 15 with 2505 views | TheChef | Liked what I saw of him against Charlton, not everything came off but he was always looking to play forward and play positive. Can only hope he improves. Decent signing.

Harvey Vale on 13:24 - Sep 18 with 948 views | swisscottage | I was trying to work out how he was having such a positive effect on the game. He doesn't stand out on anything, but just seems to do all the basic things well. He doesn't have massive pace, but has just enough. He doesn't do fancy dribbling skills, but still runs with the ball with good close control. Without the pace, without the tricks and silky skills he was still beating his full back. His receiving of the ball, his passing to team mates, it all just seemed so matter of fact. I couldn't work it out .. he was a conundrum to me, maybe because I'm just not used to watching it at QPR.
Harvey Vale on 13:33 - Sep 18 with 907 views | dmm | He seems to have a good football brain and understands the game. If a player makes the right choice when passing the ball, taking up a position to receive the ball, etc. he's going to be a good 'un.

You could be very much describing Faurlin in this assessment. Faurlin, perhaps as many of us forget, despite his injuries, got absolutely stuck into a tackle, but otherwise floated about, without any great pace, found the right positions and linked up play or split a defence without really breaking sweat. It's very early days but I see quite a bit of that floating style about Vale. And having a left footed midfielder in perhaps the same mould is a good thing.

Ale did have a shot in him though. Let's wait and see if Vale can rifle one in from outside the box! Otherwise its a very fair comparison
Harvey Vale on 15:24 - Sep 18 with 564 views | JordanFoster | I think this is another prime example of why Warbuton loved academy boys so much. But he's mixed it with a spit and sawdust loan with Bristol Rovers and Joey Barton of all people as his manager. Three years ago he was captaining an England side with the likes of Carney Chukwuemeka, Liam Delap and Jamie Gittens in (Ronnie Edwards also played I think). I think he also captained them as winners the U19s EUROs. He won Chelsea Academy Player of the Year which has been won by the likes of Reece James and Mason Mount. Livramento won it the year before. He's an elite level footballer, you just hope that it can click for him.

I know what you mean. Touch and awareness are his main strengths I think, he gets a huge amount out of those alone.

I thought he could be describing Martin Rowlands tbh but either way not bad company to be with.
