Strange that there is minimal praise for JS after the Charlton and Wrexham games.

All those who wanted to out him post Watford and gave him the pathetic "Le Shrug" nick name are notably absent currently.

There will be bad games and good games. But the vitriol spewed about a new manager was something to behold. And not in a good way.

I have my concerns and still have but 'fair play' he has been much better with his team selections, substitutions & tactics over the last two matches.

I have never wanted him out, he needs to be given a fair chance and two wins are good, all wins are good as far as I am concerned even against Charlton & Wrexham who were average generally - you still have to beat them which is not easy.

Onward to Stoke.....keep improving.

Agree Gazza. Think it's legitimate to have concerns early doors. Especially after our first two away performances.

It's the bed wetters (before August was out FFS) and ones with the belittling "Le Shrug" comments that I found baffling. Almost like they wanted him to fail!

3 games in and we have 'le shrug' and a journalist asking if he even picks the team. Disrespectful beyond belief.

I like him as he has shown he's not afraid to change it up in terms of tactics, formation and players. Adaptability.

Think it's going to be a more enjoyable ride with JS. More wins but reckon there'll be a few more to tonkings. If we continue with the more direct style with strikers we've got may be top10. It's pretty shameful we haven't troubled the play offs even once in 10 years

Appreciate this is going to come across as negative and I really don't intend it to be, but 2 wins against newly promoted sides. Periods of the game looked like amateur hour in midfield at the back. The difference now is that we have finishers - both in terms of finishing chances and finishers in terms of finishing games. It'll be fun this season, maybe even De Canio vibes with the attack to defence to attack at least. Agree with the post that we'll certainly see some tonkings too. I'm not ready to say we are a good side, a top half side. But I'll take entertainment, some wins and the young players thriving all day long without any danager of relegation. That is success isn't it for now?

As I have said previously, it is too soon to condemn and too soon to praise. We need to be patient. However, it is noticeable that Clive secured an interview with JS soon after some of the nonsense on the Internet. Harden suddenly signed when he has been available for months.
A noticeable change in tactics? As for the disrespectful journalist, why is it disrespectful to ask a question that many people have been asking? I have supported QPR since 1968 and have never seen a first team selection so radical for a cup tie. I would have been concerned if the question had not been asked.
I am really happy that we have won two games. I am really happy the manager sounds and looks confident. I hope this turns into a positive run. But if we don't beat Stoke it will not be the end of the world.
Let's just see how the season unfolds. If the trajectory is upwards then the questions by journalists will get easier. If the opposite occurs, the questions will get tougher.
If you are in a job that attracts media attention, challenging questions are part of the job. He is a second tier football manager not a monarch or religious leader!

Far too early to tell if we’ve got a good one or not. But deserves respect for not being dogmatic. Just look at Glasgow Rangers for what the opposite can be like, and that is with a much bigger budget than ours.

The ā€œle shrugā€, ā€œbit french for meā€, ā€œ don’t like his mannerismsā€ comments are pretty pathetic, juvenile and borderline irrelevant. I can’t speak another language. I can’t imagine how hard it must be to convey yourself in one in a competitive sporting setting when you barely spoke it a year ago.

Best to ignore them imo. The sort of ā€œLittle Englandā€ Brits who belong in that crowd Saturday.

The people who have seriously been asking whether a coach would knowingly leave his country to join a club in which he couldn't select the players he wanted needed to take a step back and think.

As for it being disrespectful, this is a coach who has coached far better players than those currently at QPR, won cup competitions and qualified for the CL.
That's why it was disrespectful and also embarrassing for the majority of fans that that question was asked.

I did 'Le Wince' after the Plymouth game. As for Le Shrug, thought it was lightheartedly amusing, the more serious moaners are deluded, give the man some time.

If there is one thing I know about QPR in the 21st century, whether success or failure, it's rarely down to the manager.

That said I like him.

Weii you may be right about his motivation. He certainly comes across as a decent and intelligent chap.
But let's be real, he was unemployed, his track record in recent times has not been so good. This is professional football and there are numerous examples of players and coaches being extremely 'flexible ' in their choice of employers if the money is right. So, yes. It is possible that someone would travel to another country to take a job with particular constraints.
All I am saying is neither messiah or even just a naughty boy
. At the end of the season we will have an idea as to which end of that spectrum he is.
In the meantime, a bad run will lead to difficult questions and a good run will lead to softball ones, asking what the secret of success is.
If past achievements provide some form of shield against tricky questions then journalists may as well pack up and leave it to club PRs.

Pretty much where I am. I think that we have just beaten two limited teams who created plenty against us.

Charlton, I think will struggle all year. The current set up at Wrexham will also, but I expect them to remedy that either in the Jan window and / or with a change of manager.

Stoke who have started well will be a step up. Win that one, then maybe we have something.

You have to feel for Wrexham. I mean, they could only afford to spend £30m in signings this summer.

I said this in the comments section of the match report. Wrexham are a bit like us when we had a bit of money. They are just throwing it around. I don't think they have any real football people behinds the scenes. I mean, they have Shaun Harvey there. They were always going to rocket through the lower leagues. They were buying players from at least a league or two higher. Parkinson isn't a good manager but in the lower leagues with the resources they had, it would have been criminal if they didn't go up. I think the Championship is where they come a bit unstuck. They have a lot of teams who can spend like them, and Parkinson isn't good enough for this league. Personally, I think they might go back down or at least struggle. Now watch them get promotion lol

Not to mention the wages. They’ve got to be paying a fair wedge to get these players to sign for them. Although to be fair, they do have the income to fund it!

I was surprised at how bad they looked against us. They played like they were a bunch of strangers thrown together which I think is pretty much what they are.

The force of the self righteous is strong on this one…..

Vitriol? Not seen it.
People wanting him / the club to fail? C’mon
Le Shrug = clutch yer pearls and be the first to mention a certain demonstration and disparage people?? Beyond touchy!!

As others have said we shouldn’t be casting statues after wins v Charlton and monied Wrexham; much as we shouldn’t be casting aspersions after defeats.
However surely people can understand concerns with the manner of defeats where seven are conceded and a squad of kindergarten toddlers is taken to a Cup competition.

Bon chance to Julien and I hope we and he go from success to success

Cherish and enjoy life.... this ain't no dress rehearsal
