Yes we've got 4 wins from 4. Borehamwood have 5 wins and a draw away at Scunthorpe - they will get it.

Some of my all time great Dale experiences on that list. That day out at Southport was a special one. Am I right in saying that the run came to and end with a 3-1 defeat by Halifax? Hope thatâs not an omen. | | | | Login to get fewer ads

You know it was, but as illustrated, that defeat was after eight wins, not six! The last time we won six consecutive league games, in Sep-Oct 2016, the run was ended by Swindon Town. The last time we won seven consecutive games in all competitions was at the same time, as there was also an EFL Trophy win over Notts County in there.

Refwatch - Carlisle United v Rochdale on 09:06 - Sep 28 with 2744 views | Daley_Lama | Remember when we lost 4-0 to both Barnet and York last season and we realised the difference between the top teams and the next level? I think Carlisle fans have had that epiphone this week. Should have been game over before half time, more circumspect second half but little threat throughout from them. No flippancy from me, superb 3 points from a place where nobody else has got owt so far. Oh, and i backed us at 9/4 to win too. đ

Refwatch - Carlisle United v Rochdale on 09:55 - Sep 28 with 2546 views | Dale_4_Life | Excellent from Dale (Again) credit to the players for displaying the ruthlessness required to keep pushing that top spot. 10 games played and 22 goals scored. 2.2 average over 46 games will give us a massive chance of a season to remember. The only (tiny) negative is that Dale should have been home and hosed on 30 minutes but to dwell on that would be churlish.. We now roll on to Wednesday and a Home derby against Halifax. Played 10 and won 9.. Incredible start to the season.

FGR also playing Wednesday at Boston. Will they be resting players I wonder? I think I know the answer. Lets face it we should be playing our strongest side in all our league games at all times in an effort to avoid the crap shoot of the play offs Incidentally we have traditionally played our midweek games on Tuesday which gives us around 90 hours between Tuesday and Saturday. The gap for wednesday evening games to Saturday is around 65 hours. OK the time between previous weekend and Tuesday is less but still around 75 hours. Tuesdays seems to provide more balanced times between games.

The National League/DAZN move a number of games in every round of midweek fixtures to Wednesday. We don't have any say in the matter. I cba analysing all the fixtures, but one would assume it's spread evenly among all 24 teams across the season.

Refwatch - Carlisle United v Rochdale on 10:52 - Sep 28 with 2397 views | jonahwhereru | Just seen the highlights, Omar Gould!! what a performance that was. See what the thread has been saying about it could have been 4 or 5. Have to say again how wrong I was about McBride, good on you son for sticking it to me. What I like about him is his â b-locks to this waiting until he can see the whites of the keeperâs eyes before you shoot larkâ he is full of confidence right now. The whole team is brimming with confidence and imposing themselves on teams. It canât last as teams will really park the bus against us soon enough and we will still need to win ugly games. Will Halifax do it, not sure their fans would appreciate that in a local derby. FGR wonât as we know Savage still thinks there the best in the league.. Got my accomadation booked for that game and really looking forward to it. Rodney always seems to play well there. TBH I am already dreading managers being sacked in leagues 1 or 2 because Mcnultyâs name will be in the discussion. Enough of that Iâm just going to ride this great wave while it lasts. UTD

Well 50:50 split for our non holiday midweek games which suggests a sharing out of the two days.

I was not including bank holiday mondays, boxing day, new years day games when they fall on a weekday. I was only looking at the âregularâ midweek games.

Ta. For the purposes of fixture scheduling, those days are generally classed as part of the 'Saturday' sequencing anyway, rather than midweeks, which I think is what you were saying. Out of the nine scheduled midweeks, we have four on Tuesdays and five on Wednesdays, which as you say, is almost 50:50. I imagine it's the same for another 11 clubs, with the remaining 11 having five Tuesdays and four Wednesdays. Tuesday: Solihull (h), Scunthorpe (h), York (a), Halifax (a) - [2 home, 2 away] Wednesday: Gateshead (h), Halifax (h), Solihull (a), Forest Green (h), Scunthorpe (a) - [3 home, 2 away] The rearranged Southend game is still to be fitted in somewhere, of course.

720. Hopefully when we do lose a game, there will be an understanding that the infrastructure and plan is working and we canât win them all. In a variety of different types of game, we have played the way we want to and retained control for the vast majority of the time. That in itself is impressive, wins, goals and entertaining football not withstanding.

I'll add to that. This is the best Dale side I've seen since before lock down. (A low bar to be fair). Watching yesterday reminded me of a Hill side, more so when we are not in possession. At last, we look like we have goals in us and we now have a goalscorer. Whether or not Carlisle were shite or we were particularly good I'm not sure. What I could see is that we were fitter and hungrier than them. Crucially there seemed to be a collectiveness about the bunch to get the job done. At some point soon we will come up against a team whose Manager has devised a way to play against us that might flummox us. Some might even accuse McNulty of sending us out to play badly. When the time comes, we have to hope that the 3 wise men on the bench can tactically out-manouevre the opposition by use of subs and formation change. [Post edited 28 Sep 14:20]

"...3 wise men on the bench..." For me, that's the key difference from last season Credit to JM for this, and to i've-forgotten-his-name for buggering off to join what's-is-name at Cardiff and creating the vacancy - or was he being pushed? Doesn't matter, we've now got the bench to provide much-needed in-match thinking, plus perhaps a more positive outlook all round
