Personally I don't think the score flattered them, they hit the woodwork three times and our goal wasn't a penalty, but football is about opinions.

No I don't think the score line flattered them but that would be expected if you let them create as much space as we did. We did the same under Duff same score line.
As for not a penalty I initially thought it wasn't but the player slide in of his feet, yes he may have made contact with the ball but as it hit Galbraith the defenders momentum and follow though meant he took Galbraith legs away from him, penalty all day long for me.

Totally agree after seeing it again on tv.
Great to see Galbraith getting in penalty area in the first place.
More shots on goal please 👍

It certainly didn’t. We competed well and had spells where we dominated, but overall they were comfortably the better side over 90 minutes.

I’m not too worried when we lose to teams that have obviously better players than us. We’re not going to get a team of that quality without a promotion. Dropping points against beatable opponents like our previous two home games is where we need to improve. Both of those teams could have been killed off.

Our record - 3 wins, 3 draws, 3 defeats is a pretty accurate reflection of how we are playing IMO

I appreciate that they were the better team but you really have to look how they went about applying pressure on us, expecting the home team to try and close them down, the same channels opened up as the last hone game against Leicester which was under Duff,we played three in the middle, Grimes, Platino and Paterson, Duff set them up not to press them and yet the same result occurs, you have too look at the defence, midfield runners were given space and forward weren't marked resulting in us being outnumbered in dangerous areas of the park, so do we press or do we drop off which haven't worked because we didn't get our marking in dangerous, to us areas of the pitch. The likes of Duff, William and Martin's teams given given procession of the ball to go down closed off blind alleys to be countered in the transition areas turn to the opposition's advantage at will. We have to close thosee paths of attack down so that the pressure can be relieved by the quality of the forwards now in our team, you cannot do that if the marking is as poor as it was against Leicester in both instances. Cooper got things right although the team quality and mix in the play off final could not defend correctly after losing our defensive strength in the midfield in the January window after we "gained" Hourihane, since demotion our midfield and defence has not been quite good enough defensively to compete for that promotion we want. That defensive frailty needs to change so we can compete both in defense and attack.
There could be a question asked at times are we marking spaces or players?

Are we strong enough yet, not quite but it will be interesting to see if we can put a run of games in, the earlier in the season the better.

Comfortably the better team? I'm not sure about that. The only time they looked much better than us was during a ten minute spell late on when our heads had clearly gone. They hit the woodwork twice in this period I believe.

For the most part we were competitive and had chances to lead the game, which might have changed things.

Pain or damage don't end the world. Or despair, or f*cking beatings. The world ends when you're dead. Until then, you got more punishment in store. Stand it like a man... and give some back.

The table starts to tell the truth after 10 games or so. After 9, we’re an average side with as many wins as losses and a goal difference of zero.

That’s how we played on Saturday, we were just up against one of the better sides.

Agreed. They were better. That's what I saw.

Argue about team selection and tactics of course. And changes there may well have helped. But they were still better.

so Wrexham must be better than us as Leicester managed only a 1-1 draw at home to a side that was two divisions below them last season?

Yes Leicester were the better side on the day but team aelectiins and tactics couks have made a huge difference tonthe scorelime

If anyone hasn't looked at the poll in the first post for a while it might be worth looking. It surprised me a bit.

Looking for any common sense on this forum is indeed a big ask.
Almost every comment that I made after our ludicrous transfer window nonsense is coming true. Some very good players acquired, a number of players already surplus to requirements. Whoever approved of paying £6 million for Inousa should be banned from the Swansea .com for life. Young players with potential binned out the door. How any manager, regardless of experience could make sense of this mélange of tangled legs and careers is beyond me. Still Snoop Dog says he likes us so everything is all good (give me strength!) With a properly thought through transfer window we should have been comfortably sat in the top 6.
I feel for you Alan sheehan.

I am expecting four point from nine across the next 3 games.
That would be in keeping with current form.

I'm thinking long and hard about which young players with potential have been binned out of the door.

Some of the recent transfers will bite us on the bum.
Guaranteed.

Swansea Indepenent Poster Of The Year 2021. Dr P / Mart66 / Roathie / Parlay / E20/ Duffle was 2nd, but he is deluded and thinks in his little twisted brain that he won. Poor sod. We let him win this year, as he has cried for a whole year. His 14 usernames, bless his cotton socks.

Agree. 9 of our starting 11 last Saturday were with us last season. I would have hoped that our signings in the summer would have been good enough to be automatic starters, it appears that is not the case. Possibly that will be improved or as you say some will bite us on the bum. Is our recruitment system as good as first thought.

Yes, Galbraith a very good buy.

Without a doubt, in my opinion the best player we have. But he didn't start in what was a very tough game and we didn't have another game for two weeks. Was he rested for international duty, carrying a knock or does our best players just not make our best team. Statistics can say what a player can do but it doesn't say if that player can blend with other options you have. Sheehan has to work that out.

When I see iPads being used I do wonder who makes the decisions on subs, timings, starting line ups etc.

One of the best windows we’ve had. Look at the squad at the start and end of it.

Putting too many eggs in the Goebells basket aside, I don’t know what more they could have done. Even that may work out ok, as we probably wouldn’t have had Vipotnik v2 if we’d brought a top striker in earlier.

He’s doing well, grinding out results and keeping us ticking over. I expect performances will improve as time goes on and the partnerships form and become stronger.

3 points behind playoffs with two home games coming up.

Sheehan can only work with what he has got.
It’s probable that the recruitment people haven’t brought in what was needed.
