I think we are missing a strong leader as Captain. Cabango isn't the answer. It needs to be someone who is demanding the most from the players around him for the full 90+ minutes. I dont see Cabango doing that

It seems to me that Burgess is the on field leader and Cabango just wears the armband. It reminds me of Alun Wyn Jones being the Wales leader while Warburton wore the armband. Maybe we need a few more to be vocal as well, but that is normally players who have been there a while, rather than the new recruits, of which we have many.

Tymon can be very vocal.

For me I thought we would be doing a bit better than we are.
15 points would be an acceptable return from.9 games.
12 is not great though so in golf terms 3 over par after 9 holes.
The performances are bang average build up is reverting to slow motion again which is a big concern for me.
The high tempo was the reason most of us were happy he got the job.

We now have better players but we have regressed.

Not convinced by us without the ball either we give teams too much time and space.

For me there needs to be a marked improvement we spent close on 20 mil.in the summer and we should be doing better.

We are a team of Bertie Bassets atm , a total mixture of periods of tidy play, and followed by schoolboy errors, fast and pacey , then slow slow, back back back. periods of individuality and periods of teamwork then fudge!
Whats worrying me is in a few games we are actually creating nothing, opposing keepers are people watching while ours is saving our skin.
9 games in, we should be in a bit better shape both on the field and in decisions!

I know a lot of us have criticised Key's play, especially how ineffective a relationship he has with Ronald. Maybe Sheehan needs to sit Key & try Sam Parker, or sit both Ronald & Key, and play Parker & Benson.

Sheehan will be replaced when it's quite evident that his players don't believe in him.

Key is not a scapegoat
He is our primary weak link as every wide man rinses him dry
He can’t tackle and because of that fouls and giveaway free kicks Christ, am I the only one here who sees this
I’ve lost count of the times he’s allowed crosses to come on and killings
We could try Galbraith there although he’s rather small but he’s combative
We need to replace him in January Full stop
He’s had a long run and has not got better at all

Parker has size and maybe he could do a basic job there we have more than enough choice at midfield

Poll: Christmas. Enjoyable or not

He is trying to get the team functioning properly, I think we lost our heads in that second half while gaining the upper hand and drawing level we got sucked in to doing things that were unnecessary, one challenge Franco made going in full blooded but with no control, the ball was his, he was going to get to the ball first and he had options to play away with one touch instead he slammed the ball at the opposition player loosing any momentum we could have gained.

Things that just stalled us going forward, a one touch pass to get out of trouble and then getting into sensible areas to recieve the return pass or pull opposition players out of position creating space for player on the ball which at the moment Key seems to taking far too many touches, not delivering quick ball to Ronald and in the end no understanding of what the other player is going to do, but with all the changes in the midfield they are not able to create enough at the moment. Having said that they did play better at times.
Changes to the wingers didn't work yesterday because Leicester just closed the flanks down.

I can't see Parker who is no longer in a matchday squad promoted to a starting place.

All I'm saying is that it's not working on that side, and I would think that at least trying something different should be considered. Tymon has 2 assists; Key has none. Inoussa who plays on the left flank also has 2 assists. Eom who also plays on the left flank has one assist.

Yes, I would agree that Key is not in the lineup, (has played 795 min in the league and 915 min total), for his defensive skills but as someone who's supposed to be able to put the ball in the box or releasing it up the line. I don't see him doing that on a consistent basis, like Tymon does on the other side.

This summer's transfer window was better.

Better compared to every window since the Birch-Cooper period (2021).

We have had 4 underwhelming years of transfer activities = 8-9 transfer windows where we have been disappointed/and at times last minute panic moves.

It may take another 2-3 transfer windows before we become serious promotion contenders. We are in a period of "repair".

Does he have a say in the players coming in ? If not, then why not.
Is he being dictated to by the iPad guys, when he can bring players on or off ?
Galbraith today. Was it his decision to start him on the bench ? Or the iPad people saying he needs a rest ?

Most managers would be delighted to have the depth of squad he has at his disposal. Whatever happened to playing to your strengths and horses gor courses? We seem to be as one paced as we were under williams. We really need to be a bit braver and start to really have a go and crank the pressure up. We made Blackburn look a lot better than they were and just held on for the win. Wouldn’t it be nice to be more aggressive , pin teams back and score more goals?

This is all a bit “displeasing “.

I’m not sure I agree to be fair. We had an inferior squad last season and if we’d dumped Williams earlier could have made their mark in playoffs.

This season Vipotnik scored almost as many goals in this first two months as he did last season. We’ve got one of the best players in the Championship in Galbraiths and far more strength in depth. We should be doing better that this.

You’d expect it to take at least three windows, but in all fairness, they’ve built a very solid squad in one.

In Sheehans defence, it can’t be easy to get everyone in synch when half his first team weren’t here last year, but it should be a case of time for the squad to settle rather than another few transfer windows to assemble a squad.

I’d imagine we’ll see a lot less activity in the next few windows with us targeting key areas rather than bringing a raft of good players in.

Hopefully he will still be here this time next year.

Swansea Indepenent Poster Of The Year 2021. Dr P / Mart66 / Roathie / Parlay / E20/ Duffle was 2nd, but he is deluded and thinks in his little twisted brain that he won. Poor sod. We let him win this year, as he has cried for a whole year. His 14 usernames, bless his cotton socks.

In every game, regardless of the XI on the pitch there are promising signs of what this squad, under Sheehan's guidance can be capable of. As he demonstrated during his period as caretaker, AS picks a side that he feels can do a job against any given opponent, I don't think he is one to have a first XI, come hell or high water. Consistency in producing the high intensity, fast paced, flowing attacking football, is what is lacking, hopefully it will come over time. The question is, how much time will he get. There's already growing noise from certain elements, mainly stoked by those who were dead against him getting the job in the first place. I think the run of games between the October and November international breaks could be critical, although personally, I think he has to be given until the midway point of the season, to show what he is capable of.

Imo i think our position reflects our squad, we are mid table because our squad is average.

Dont really see why people are getting het up about us being there, imo I dont think many managers would get anymore out of the squad than sheehan has.

He has to rotate players, the periphery of the squad need gametime so I can why he gives the likes of galbraith and inoussa a rest.

Let's hope that sheehan can get us off to a good start after the break, soton will be tough but if he is positive we can do em.

I can't see Parker who is no longer in a matchday squad promoted to a starting place.

Loan player Samuel-Smith has taken Parker's place on the subs bench and yet neither have seen Championship football even though both Key and Tymon put in a lot of leg work and especially Tymon looks leggy at the back end of games. We seem to be entrenched in bolstering our attack and midfield and yet do not replace our full backs or centrebacks as they become tired the only game we bolstered our defence was bringing on Fulton in the Blackburn game which we won, perhaps we should be look at how we hang onto points instead of throwing caution to the wind and losing them.
Last season Sheehan seem to realise the value of every point because of the predicament we found ourselves in. Having a number of players on the bench who knew how to see games out Allen, Naughton, Cooper and Fulton, the only one left was a bonus.

Perhaps we need to trust our defensive players in the squad to shore up our defensive efforts and to give us a strong platform to attack from later in games.

I've not seen anything like enough in Parker so far to suggest that he's an answer to our problems. Needs a good loan spell somewhere to rack up 20-30 games.

Pain or damage don't end the world. Or despair, or f*cking beatings. The world ends when you're dead. Until then, you got more punishment in store. Stand it like a man... and give some back.

I seen enough of him to know he wasn't bullied off the ball by wingers against both Plymouth and Crawley, seen him cause problems against good looking Championship fullbacks when he was played as a winger in previous seasons being able to change his point of attack to try cutting inside then crossing the ball to deliver an assist for a goal. Not sure everyone needs to go out on loan to develop. Any issues he had as a defender were due largely by our set up, marking and poor press as a team leaving him outnumbered on the wing causing him to make decisions as to who he should commit to defend against and how to do it, does he back off players to allow support to reach him letting wingers push him back into the box making defending harder or bite the bullet by making an early challenge to stop attackers in their tracks, very hard to make the right decision if you are outnumbered, the same type of quandary we have seen both Tymon and Key get stuck with to our cost, so we have Samuel-Smith who looked promising against Forest but still had issues leaving big gaps as he pushed forward which our midfield and defensive set up did not cover. Forest and Leicester both created openings that they shouldn't be able to do at times, often because of our senior individuals and teams mistakes.
It is just my opinion Parker had looked both as comfortable in the Championship as others first team choices and needs to be used.
Would say if we have a lead to defend and Fulton was not available I would put Casey on as Burgress and Cabango get through a lot of work and need help or be substituted, the same as Tymon and Key, happier having Parker on the bench, if Tymon goes off Parker comes on at rightback and Key transfer to left back, if Key goes off a straight swap.
All very well have loan player who show glimpses of what they can do but at the moment I think that settled team is more important to solve the problems we are seeing, Parker was part of that settled team towards the back end of last season and has shown more than enough promise in the cup games to justify his inclusion in the match day squad.
