So disappointing that we had such a limp display to end our season at home.
I can't say any more about the football. But as a club that's suffered so much of Rob Styles, Gavin Ward and Keith Stroud (and Tom Nield even three times) we deserve to have James Linnington every home game next season. Not saying it's an easy job but some things are straightforward: don't get involved in endless chats, explain your decisions clearly and briefly; book someone early on for persistent niggly fouls if they're happening; don't keep threatening to book someone and not follow through (any parent who doesn't end up with a bratty child knows that); DON'T MAKE IT ALL ABOUT YOU. I think it's the only time I actually clapped a referee off the pitch (probs in part due to my PTSD after Nield against Swansea).
God speed at Sunderland next week Clive. The end of this sorry season is in sight. You deserve a break more than ever. [Post edited 28 Apr 4:46]

Such a shame this time last year going into the summer we were all excited about our prospects for the following season but now we can't wait for it to be over and have a break from what has become a labour of love.
No doubt myself and the kids will renew our Season Tickets next year (51st year for me) and we will be full of hope again come August but for now I won't be missing my trips up to W12 apart from the pie, mash and liquor that is. | | | |

Dembele shrugging his shoulders at Paal after the third goal was the straw that finalky broke the camels back. Having sat through another season of dross that attitude just summed up everything regarding this club. The lack of standards.

Thank the Lord that a large BBQ at my brother's, where he also wanted me to sample his latest single pot still Irish Whiskey, meant I was out for the count long before that report was published. It was bad enough living through that 4-0 trashing (I was outside the stadium when I heard the 5th go in) but had I read that report last night I would have been awake until 3am worrying about next season already.

I've always maintained a good distant relationship with QPR and my life in general, and have been able to not let this absolute basket case of a club get to me outside of the sport.
That however has changed slightly after this season.
I was gutted when Warbs was dismissed. Like Marti, Warbs had his faults but was always professional and brought that attitude to the club and tried to turn the poisonous tide around but ultimately it's so far gone that it's like a sewer like toxic goo that we get left to fester on!
It's QPR, blah blah blah! It's what we do. It's now been so long since we had any form of success but even that was poisoned by Redknapp and previously Faurlin Gate!
All I want is a stable club that occasionally punches above its weight, not an utter circus with egos too strong to be humbled.

The third goal summed us up for me. Lost the ball in our own half, no attempt to get back and make up for the mistake just allow another 2 on 1 against the full back. Ken Paal then puts up as much resistance as my wife would if Ryan Renynolds walked into the bedroom and bang 3-0. As they go off to celebrate in the tv footage this is when you see Dembele strolling back to help. He's never going to progress until he sorts out that side of his game
Compare that to how Burnley defended and thats why we are where we are and why next season is going to be even worse imo

We can't usually make the 12.30 games but managed to engineer it this week as it was the last home game of the season. Severely regretted that decision about 10 minutes onto the game.
Even if I could go to Sunderland I really would not be arsed so fair play to all that do make it up there next week. Massive respect.

Yeah, Paal should have been hauled off after half an hour. He was a disgrace.
He will end up going to a mid-table Championship club and have an underwhelming career. That's the thing with a lot of the players we've signed over the last decade - they lack the hunger or personal pride to achieve anything other than mediocrity. They get paid handsomely every week and will do until they retire.
I mentioned Ashby signing autographs as he went off on another thread - yes, I get that someone would have slagged him off if he didn't sign them but ffs there is a time and a place. It's Monday morning, and I'm still too bloody angry that Cifuentes and that bloody team served up the club's loyal long suffering fans, with that load of old Horse/dog/pig/camel shit, that I can't write anything about that display on Saturday.
Yes, Burnley are a good side.
Yes, they deserve their umpteenth shot at making up the numbers in the Premier League.
But, at the cost of this, a 0-5 defeat in our last home game until August? Where we played like my grandson's under 10s side against Burnley's top of the Championship table side, truly Men against Boys?
To be honest, I really don't care whether Cifuentes or any of that bloody side are here next season, because we have all now seen what they are capable of serving up to a support they quite clearly don't deserve.

I thought we looked good for the opening three minutes! That changed after Madsen finds himself free in the penalty area & instead of shooting, attempts a cut back to nobody!
I was relieved that Burnley had decided that they didn't need Edwards for this match. They really missed him though! And the celebrations for Trafford's save were more than we would have managed if we had scored. Near the end of the match it looked as if we might have a goal scoring opportunity, but SIX of their players sprinted back to snuff out any danger. I realised at that moment why Parker is the man to employ at this level!

Bloody depressing game. It feels like whatever we (the club) try we’re doomed to be treading water forever.
I don’t think there is one person to blame. Marti isn’t the saint he’s made out to be and Nourry isn’t the evil CEO people think he is. The amount of conjecture is astonishing, especially when in reality this season has been in keeping with the previous however many.
We’re trying to play by rules that reward wealthy clubs. Clubs like us are here to make up the numbers as far as the football authorities and bullsh*t football media is concerned.
On a personal note, the thing I find most difficult to deal with is the incredible high I get from moments like Andersen’s goal to the frustration/anger/depression (whatever you want to call it) when we lose and the club seems to implode.
The worst thing about is come August I’ll be back at Loftus Road, in my seat wearing the newest home kit with renewed optimism. What the f**k is wrong with me?! |  | | |
