The first link in the chain…so now a barrage of announcements to follow thank god.

I’m so sad to see him go. People wanted Warburton out, and what a mistake that was. They were the ‘good old days’. I hope we don’t look back at this crazy decision and wonder why on earth this was allowed to happen.

It is sad but football is a business and brutal one at that. Best of luck Marti, maybe we might meet again...

Like most, I would have been happy if he was still with us next year. I don't think it's quite the disaster him leaving others think though.

Whatever side of the fence you sit on, it's good this has now been formalised so preparations can start properly for next season.

Good luck Marti, thanks for some great moments and moving Jimmy Dunne to right back!

Reading his words it just makes me sad because I think we have/had a good manager.

The new manager will get my full support as always and I hope he pushes us on.

Smells like a trout farm in here

A good manager.

I think of standing behind that goal at West Brom watching us lose 2-0 and never once going over the halfway line, and having Gareth tell us we were statistically improving, and I've rarely felt lower about QPR and the direction we were heading. I didn't think we'd make 20 points.

This guy came in, got it, got us, and turned it round immediately.

I've found a lot of the white washing and dismissal of his time here on social media hard to swallow.

He's one of our best managers in recent times.

One of the better managers that we've had since relegation. Some real highs with the quality of football, Leeds and West Brom spring to mind most, along with some hard to watch stuff at times.

What I suspect we'll miss most is his ability to put together a team from an often injury hit and unbalanced squad and pick up a win or a draw somewhere in games that we'd have lost a year or two earlier.

I think that under any other manager since relegation, other than perhaps Warburton, we'd have gone down comfortably in the Ainsworth season and would have been likely to have done so last season too with the squad that we had.

Like others I've found the trashing of him online hard to fathom. Hopefully the new man will come in and pick things up from here. Time will tell.

How he turned us around when he came in I will never know.

Never forget the 4.0 Leeds at home game, (or the West Brom Stan night).

Good luck Marti

Won’t be at all surprised to see him back managing us in the next ten years.

If not actually disgruntled, he was far from being gruntled. PG Wodehouse

I’ll miss him. That day at Watford was one of my lowest points .
How he turned us from that to Leeds 4.0 . I will
Never get my head around. Remarkable.
Injury list killed us last season .
Not perfect but silk purses and sow ears come to mind.

That's a shame. Like many others I expect I didn't know how he would go when he first came in. But having attended every home game under his stewardship as a season ticket holder I really liked the way he got the team playing and how so many players came on under him.

Buena suerte Senor !
