Getting in very early on this one. I only started one match thread last season and we won 4-0 so here’s hoping my luck continues especially as it’s such a huge fixture. Not just because it’s the first game of the season or because it’s the first game for JS, not just because the pressure is on us to beat a team, at home, that many have tipped to be relegated but because this team needs to win for its fragile confidence. To get its supporters to forget about gardening leave and divided opinions. My anxiety levels are way higher than normal for this game and with the injuries we’ve accumulated so early in the season I don’t think they’re going to drop, especially if Dunne and Cook are unavailable.

You wait for months for the season to start and this is what you get; a knot in the pit of your stomach.

I’m going for a rollercoaster 3-2 win. Chair with the first.

C’mon you soooopahhooooopsah.

At the game. Awful defending for that goal.

3 observations:

Dembengue is a player

Madsen is not a player (more ofnthe same sh1t he offered up last season). Get rid asap.

Walsh looks very suspect indeed, but we'll have to wait and see how that goes over the next few months if Nardi is leaving I guess

Other than that, pleasantly surprised by how we look (PNE goal aside)

One question - is that Mbengue or Dembélé?

Shit but local

This ref is giving me the right hump here, seemingly blowing for any challenge on a Nob End player

Thought Walsh was very poor... great finish.. but Walsh's positioning was very poor

I agree. Started to come out, then stopped. Schoolboy goalkeepeing

We're getting bullied now and giving the ball away cheaply. Need some changes.

PNE look a bit sharper after the equaliser.

We should be beating this slop but seem to be up against it now.

To be fair when their keeper is claiming a cross and then launching a route one kick that beats our defence, that's poor from everyone. That being said, Walsh has looked less than convincing.

True. I still think he's suspect though. Nardi all day long, unless he's about to be sold

Doesn't look good for Poku. Shaking his head

Burrell and Kolli for Poku, Celar. Adamson for Esaquerdinha.

Agreed. I don't get the logic in keeping Nardi out. Even if there's interest in him, goalkeepers are less likely to get injured than outfield players.

2 strikers have entered the fray but we're still playing 1 up front. Burrell central, Kolli on the left.
