Getting in very early on this one. I only started one match thread last season and we won 4-0 so here’s hoping my luck continues especially as it’s such a huge fixture. Not just because it’s the first game of the season or because it’s the first game for JS, not just because the pressure is on us to beat a team, at home, that many have tipped to be relegated but because this team needs to win for its fragile confidence. To get its supporters to forget about gardening leave and divided opinions. My anxiety levels are way higher than normal for this game and with the injuries we’ve accumulated so early in the season I don’t think they’re going to drop, especially if Dunne and Cook are unavailable.
You wait for months for the season to start and this is what you get; a knot in the pit of your stomach.

Only watched the second half...but we still look absolutely toothless. Too small as well. Defence needs watching from behind the sofa as always... so yes is the answer to your question. First half was a lot better to be fair. The first half version of this team will be comfortably mid table. The second half version will be in and about the relegation zone all year |  | | |
