Getting in very early on this one. I only started one match thread last season and we won 4-0 so here’s hoping my luck continues especially as it’s such a huge fixture. Not just because it’s the first game of the season or because it’s the first game for JS, not just because the pressure is on us to beat a team, at home, that many have tipped to be relegated but because this team needs to win for its fragile confidence. To get its supporters to forget about gardening leave and divided opinions. My anxiety levels are way higher than normal for this game and with the injuries we’ve accumulated so early in the season I don’t think they’re going to drop, especially if Dunne and Cook are unavailable.

You wait for months for the season to start and this is what you get; a knot in the pit of your stomach.

I’m going for a rollercoaster 3-2 win. Chair with the first.

C’mon you soooopahhooooopsah.

Considering where my expectations were, been pleased with some of the touches and looking to get involved from Celar and Madsen so far. If those two turn into 80% of the players we bought them to be, we'll be fine going forward this year

Ooh, the BBC match coverage has xG in realtime now. Ours is 0.47 atm.... anyone care to explain that to me?

Bit concerning how vulnerable we look defensively when PNE have the ball but I guess if the plan is for us to have the ball 90% of the time then it's less of an issue!

Morgan's composure at RB is proving decent asset in our build up

Chairs ball to poku? Had a free chance under no pressure albeit a difficult one inside the 6 yard box

I was about to say the same, but didn't want to jinx it.

No pressure Muchacho!

Anyone unable to get the Paramount Plus stream working (in US)? How is the Sky feed? Not loading, so frustrating!

Ah ha, so our xG of 0.5 now means that in 50% of games where the chances had occurred like those in this game we'd have scored?
I'm not certain that QPR matches are a good way to train statistical models.

QPR, breaking statistical probabilities since 1882

Front 4 look really lively and are going to scare the feck out of teams

Back 4 looks lightweight but so far decent from Morgan - the lad picks a good pass

How the hell the ref's given a goalkick there is mind boggling.
