Getting in very early on this one. I only started one match thread last season and we won 4-0 so here’s hoping my luck continues especially as it’s such a huge fixture. Not just because it’s the first game of the season or because it’s the first game for JS, not just because the pressure is on us to beat a team, at home, that many have tipped to be relegated but because this team needs to win for its fragile confidence. To get its supporters to forget about gardening leave and divided opinions. My anxiety levels are way higher than normal for this game and with the injuries we’ve accumulated so early in the season I don’t think they’re going to drop, especially if Dunne and Cook are unavailable.
You wait for months for the season to start and this is what you get; a knot in the pit of your stomach.
I’m going for a rollercoaster 3-2 win. Chair with the first.

What would be even worse is if he plays Madsen ahead of Morgan, as then with Celar, we could be playing with 9 men. Hard day at the office for Field, that would be.
PNE won't notice, because as soon as they get the first goal, they will sit back and PNE the game out, letting Chair do nice 1-2's to little effect. This game is gonna be a bad watch.

These things are easy to check - they beat Norwich away in February this year, so seven away games without a win. But they only managed one home win since, so nothing much to see here. |  |

Celar has done absolutely nothing in pre-season and as such it would be like playing with 10 men watching him tottering about up front. Anybody that can run would be an improvement.
If it’s the same line up as Brentford, Morgan and Madsen will be bullied to death and the prediction is a 0-1 Preston win.
That’s an easier prediction than what the line up will look like, which is precisely the problem. |
