Getting in very early on this one. I only started one match thread last season and we won 4-0 so here’s hoping my luck continues especially as it’s such a huge fixture. Not just because it’s the first game of the season or because it’s the first game for JS, not just because the pressure is on us to beat a team, at home, that many have tipped to be relegated but because this team needs to win for its fragile confidence. To get its supporters to forget about gardening leave and divided opinions. My anxiety levels are way higher than normal for this game and with the injuries we’ve accumulated so early in the season I don’t think they’re going to drop, especially if Dunne and Cook are unavailable.

You wait for months for the season to start and this is what you get; a knot in the pit of your stomach.

I’m going for a rollercoaster 3-2 win. Chair with the first.

C’mon you soooopahhooooopsah.

Would take a 0-0 but got a bad feeling 0-1 based on our lack of firepower…Hope I am wrong and we stuff them.

I reckon we'll draw, but I wanted to say that I feel much the same as you. Well put.

Don't know if all their strikers are available, but if they are, I fear that they will bully our central defenders especially if Cook and Dunne are unavailable.

Smith signed from Sheffield Wednesday, Jebbison on loan from Bournemouth, Osmajic could make it a very physical and uncomfortable afternoon for Mbengue, if selected, and others.

1-2 defeat.

Footballers always score just after they've had a baby, so Celar has to start. 1-0 Rangers

I went 0-2 in the prediction league in reality because...yeah, not sure we are quite ready yet.

Celar has done absolutely nothing in pre-season and as such it would be like playing with 10 men watching him tottering about up front. Anybody that can run would be an improvement.

If it’s the same line up as Brentford, Morgan and Madsen will be bullied to death and the prediction is a 0-1 Preston win.

That’s an easier prediction than what the line up will look like, which is precisely the problem.

0-3 and a glut of puff pieces in the following days that qpr fabs shouldn’t panic as ‘the Messi of football back rooms’ is cooking

I’d prefer to see the first team training rather than all these kids. Didn’t see Cook, Dunne, Varane.

That thing in the pit of my stomach just turned over on itself.

I find it impossible to predict given we don't know whether Dunne, Cook, Smyth, Kolli, or Celar will play.

PNE have a number of key players out too, which could even it up.

Celar, Kolli and Madsen were all training today.

Never knowingly right.

The QPR Central Committee (Tractor Manufacturing and Footballing Matters) is pleased to announce that, in order to maintain our glorious competitive advantage, we will neither confirm nor deny the reports in the capitalist media of a footballing fixture, team or potential opponent to take place at an unspecified time or location. Should any such event take place, it will be a spontaneous outpouring of loyalty and devotion to our Dear Leader and the Great Project.

Attendance will be mandatory. Anyone found guilty of revealing squad numbers must report to Batman Close for re-education.

Aaah, the broad sunlit uplands and shy fields of Batman Close.
I can't wait to get on the wall with me hip flask at 2pm Saturday.

Yes, just seen that. I also spotted Burrell training so he should be available. The South African CB Smith and the Colombian whizkid Trujillo were in there too.

Apologies, I realise I do these a lot, but maybe we could factor in a new Red Box's "For America" chant? Just a thought...

I think I read somewhere that Julien's teams have a habit of starting brightly under his tutelage. So, I think we'll come out all guns blazing. It's not a pre season kick about/warm up anymore and we'll see a completely different QPR animal (albeit with a few of the old creatures and critters we've become accustomed to). Going to be sunny and very warm, full house. Can't wait. 4-1 the R's.

”You’re shit! Hrrraaaaawwwwwwwwrrrrrr ggghhhhhhaaaaaaawwwwrrrrrr!”

I guess its been said.

This is an ideal first fixture.

I would say otherwise.

We could play them mid season on a run of form and then would expect us to do well.

But for me, home to Ipswich we may have had more success...

This has "BANANA SKIN" shouting extremely loud and proud !!!!

We could be in for a glum day.
I wish they'd bring back that all-girl American marching band they had one New Year's Day. They were great - all those John Philip Sousa marches.

For the folks who have not closely followed the summer dealings, what is the anticipated starting XI? Did not realise that paal left
0
Knob End Match Fred on 09:41 - Aug 7 with 1221 viewsBrianMcCarthy

Rangers 2.30
Draw 3.00
Preston 3.10

I've no idea how the bookies can decide odds on this, as picking both likely teams is a lottery, but we are favourites.

Trialist A is a definite for me. If Varane isn't playing, then I'd go with Trialist B. I also expect Trialist C to get minutes.

After that, who knows.
