Whenever I've held the manager to account after games, I been told by a handful of sad cynics here that I'm an idiot for doing so. However, as you're not me, I'm sure you'll be fine.

It's a low, low point for me as a half-century-long QPR fan tonight, but it's hardly a surprise. Either way, as a fan, there's only word to put to the manager and CEO after tonight's debacle - which is conveniently the same in English and French.

Insupportable!

Na, not happy about this game being a project.

Smells like a trout farm in here

He said that they were tired at the end of the game.

So was the first team on Saturday and they clearly could not face another 90 so soon after.

WTF is our Performance Director actually doing?

We are a football club NOT a fckn "Project"...

Can we go out yet?

Red flags all over this interview and the whole evening .

It's all about development. Not about winning. Why you can't win and develop I have no idea.

When did teams first start cheating their fans and themselves with this abject cynicism in the Cups? And what made them think they could get away with it?

I know this won't be enhance my dizzying popularity with some, but the fans turning up in nearly four figures tonight are, for me, actually part of the problem, because it means JS can thank us for our support and kid himself it was all fine. In my view, we should vote with our feet.

Well, he seems pretty upbeat about the whole shebang... quite strange hearing that really,

I think there is a generational divide here. Have a ST with my son ( did not go tonight) and he is much more OK with a project than me! Could be I am just a Grumpy old git but you see the difference between younger crowd on twitter and here too.

Yoof of today, eh? I blame Fabrizio, socials and Football Manager

If you had the sound off I swear it looked like we actually won such was his joy thats a bit strange for sure.
Its very obvious the fans got behind the team like they always do but if they knew there were no senior players on the field would they have paid their money down to go there to see that.
Shame QPR could not force penalties it would have created some more value for their money

I have only been supporting this club for 49 years so this may be why I am not at all angry, offended, disappointed or disgusted. In fact I enjoyed watching our youngsters give it a go. It was fascinating to glimpse into the future and see who looked like they may be able to step up. I always want to see QPR win but as you will know even with a fully fit and firing squad we often lose like we did today.

Anyone want a ticket for the Watford game and my hotel room in Cov in two weeks time . I’m part of the problem apparently.
We’ve been rubbish in the cups for years . It’s deeply depressing but it’s not as if we’re not used to it by now.

Culturally we aim for mediocrity and we're thrilled to death about it.

I'm sure if we'd put out a team of supporters they'd have given 100% and given up a lot of opportunities too. Less potential resale value though, obviously.

It is a bit worrying how pleased he is.

This club doesn't want to try and win anything, other than promotion to a level that in recent times, has given me some of the worst experiences of my 50 years plus supporting this club.
I think in October, this club will be making a big thing of honouring the only man in the history of QPR since it was formed in 1886, to have scored a winning goal for us in a major cup final, Mark Lazarus, may he rest in peace.
The greatest honour we could have paid Mark, would have been to have made a serious attempt at trying to get as far as we could, in the only cup competition we have won in over 140 years, and in which he played a major part.
But no, QPR had to go and do what they did last night, and bring embarrassment and shame on our club and it's supporters.

Some of us have grown up in an era where the same 5/6 teams win the League Cup and FA Cup. You can all moan and harp on about the good old days all you want. Swansea / Wigan / Palace winning cups are memorable because they’re a compete outlier. I don’t know about other younger fans, but to me it’s a bit of a charade and there is no “magic” to English cup football - it’s a way for elite clubs to give their second string a run out and get a trophy in the process.

As for slagging off our manager after 2 games (not this specific post replied to but general theme of this forum this morning) - shows the over reactive fans aren’t the youngens.

Talk to me about standards when QPR have been in the second and third tier for 95% of the time you’ve been alive. When all the stories people like you talk about (top club in London, Les in his pomp) are just stories. If you wanna live on how things were 30-50 years ago all the best.

Six minutes of talking gobbledygook with a fixed idiot grin on his face.
What comes of being placed in an impossible situation I guess.

Looking at the starting line-up against Preston and the injury situation, I can understand we are in a dire position and could not go flat-out for this game.

But I am bitterly disappointed with that selection. This is not the way to develop young players imho. You do that by putting them next to experienced guys who can coach and guide them through a game. On field coaching. I doubt they would have learned much from this.

As Mbengue said in his interview, 3-game weeks is their job, so at least 3 or 4 more senior players could have played a bit-part role here. In hindsight, a Colback, Cook and Field in the 2nd half to see the lads through would have been invaluable learning experience and I think we might have pulled it off.

A big mark of disapproval from me.

He's on big enough money and should have enough experience to know better, but I think he's also been badly advised, or not advised at all, before that interview. Not helped by pride being the first question.

It sounded like some kind of internal conversation covering some of the priorities we all now know about, especially since the fans forum.

Good to see some of you are willing to give the guy some time. Already insulting him. This is going to be a long season. He’s had 2 games.

issue is a lot of us saw this coming ages ago before a ball was kicked , the only diff we have from last season is we had a manager who stood up to the people behind the scenes and said sorry hes not playing a and we even with a unbalanced squad saw us show some improvment from the previous season , who knows what might have happened if he had been allowed to pick and play players how we wanted to this season ? but now we are in a worse postion with a worse more unbalanced squad and off we go , yes some decent projects have been brought in but the same issusewe have had for years are still there left back now right back as well and central midfield are very very weak indeed , but its ok lads its a project so all will be good as thats what we have been. told it will be .

unfortunalty the football world isnt something that u can play on. a pc and make a few changes and all becomes good in the world again

Agreed James. Talk about an over-the-top reaction, sweet jaysus you'd think we'd lost a relegation six-pointer or something. For my part, I think Julien made absolutely the right call and I'll take his cool-headed pragmatism over hot-headed emotionalism any day.

Saw what coming? We’re 2 games into the season. We drew our first league game. Are you so desperate to be proved right? Maybe you will be. And come November we’ll be bottom and players injured still. But until then, I’m going to give the manager some time.
