Look, I'm obviously struggling with QPR at the moment.
I'm also struggling with the amount of anonymous accounts all weirdly parroting the same lines and branding honest home and away QPR fans like me "dinosaurs" "a cancer on the club" "mentally ill" "old farts".
I went and did something else with my weekend this week, because I wondered if yesterday might go as it did and I couldn't face it. Sadly I was right.
Jamie Perry is half my age, does every game home and away, and is the most lovely, placid, good natured boy you could wish to meet. I gave the match report to him and, look, if he feels like this, if Jamie Perry feels like this...

A truly wonderful report.
My favorite quote from was a friend of mine who stuck it out until the end. The only reason was that his wife was from Coventry and she and her Mum were shopping and wouldn't get back to the Ricoh until 6pm for him to pick them up.

We stayed until the end. Not quite sure why - perhaps as we had spent a fair bit of time and effort getting there plus cost as well so wanted to get our monies worth!!!! Broke down on M40 on way back to complete what was definitely the worst ever away day in my 50 years of following Rangers. Would guess there were around 500 others who stayed the distance. Don’t blame anyone for leaving early but I can’t think I would ever leave before half time (Port Vale and Newcastle springs to mind). Personal choice of course. Would love to see the players reimburse the travelling fans but won’t happen. | | | |

Best wishes to you Clive - I've enjoyed this site for years - from when I was living abroad as a great way to keep in touch with happenings at the club and now that I'm back here in the UK. Your writing is always insightful, knowledgable and frequently very funny - I'll miss it if you do step down on a more permanent basis. But as others have said, health is more important than anything else. And if some of this is down to nameless pr*cks on twitter then hopefully the support you get on here (not least on this thread) shows you how much you are appreciated , and is enough to outweigh any crap you get on that cesspit.

JnrJnr hasn't missed a game in 3 years. He didn't do Plymouth because he feared a youth team defeat and is strongly considering passing on more away games now.
He walked after 5 on Saturday and is only doing the next couple of away games because he has train tickets. As the excellent report says, if you're losing the away support it's a serious issue. If it all goes wrong against Charlton it'll be even worse. |  |

Grimes, Torp and Rudoni were excellent for them, but they literally could have played in their club suits.
Our midfield 3 were all over the place, as evidenced by the 2nd goal, when Morgan gave the ball away from fullback. What was he doing out there when we’re trying to keep things compact. That was just one small example.

Sorry to hear about your issues Northern. I mentioned how this club has damaged my health in one of the Saturday threads. I have gone from watching the game, to keeping tabs on the scores, to now being reduced to just checking the final result so I don't get worked up so much.
It all feels like nothing at the club ever changes and we are perpetually stuck in a rut and every couple of years we get a good hammering. The sheer frustration of following this endless drivel where we make the same mistakes over and over again. When you point out how bad we are people wade in as though everything will be fine. Apart from three promotion seasons, the best part of the last 28 years has been endless crap and little sign of it improving in the forseeable future.

I've gone from missing it to being glad I'm a long way away and not having to live with the constant daily focus on football, the BS from fans of other clubs etc. I look at the constant taunting that goes on in grounds now and it seems so weird and alien to me these days. Hi Clive,
It's easy to say this from the other side of the planet, I don't have to sit through the week-in week-out drama, broken promises, rising hope only to be dashed etc., but none of this is worth breaking yourself, bodily or between the ears.
If there is anyone who has earned the right to step away it's you; I appreciate you aren't seeking permission from people you've never met, but for what it's worth, you have it.
I hope a break gives you a chance to refresh, gain perspective and hopefully find joy again the bits you love about Rangers. You've written so beautifully about all the things that surround the game and what they mean to you, perhaps these are what will bring you back again.

Clive, so sorry to hear about how our woes are affecting you, please do whatever you need to get through this rough patch. You're in my thoughts and prayers. The last few years supporting Rangers have been brutal, so the last thing you needed was Internet trolls waging malicious campaigns against you as well. How sad that people do that after all you have done for the QPR fanbase.
That's a great report by Jamie, thank you, but who knows where we go from here. Nourry's approach is creating a disconnect between the club and the fans and the coaching structure and reporting lines are illogical and confused and, to my mind, make JS' already challenging job even harder. The team isn't balanced, we're not doing the basics properly and seem to be overcomplicating everything.
It's ugly, in fact, the subtitle for the match report could have been: "Losing ugly".
