Ryder Cup Thread on 09:23 - Sep 25 with 5502 views | GaryBannister86 | Going to be such a tough ask, along with the Ashes proving itself to be the hardest thing to win away from home for either team. My hope is that most of our stars like Rory are based in the US anyway so they can level it up a bit. Must admit I find quite a few American golf fans pretty insufferable. I find it very hard to watch when we're losing and those U-S-A chants get going. [Post edited 25 Sep 9:25]

Been to 4 European RCs and loved every minute of it. Did look at going to this one until i saw the tickets prices for basic grounds access...$750 per day. At least double of European prices.

"Get in the hole " on a par 5 as the pro unloads the tee shot is a bit stupid but nothing compared to "mashed potatoes " which I have no clue about. Playing in America and NY has lots of disadvantages but I actually believe if Europe pulls ahead the crowd might turn on the US players they are that unpredictable. Massive advantage for us with Luke Donald as captain over that wierd dude Bradley ( look at his anticts in 2012 when playing with Phil ) and we actually have an equally strong team if you can ignore the rankings. A couple of US players cannot putt at all ( Young and Morikawa even Thomas ) and they have a few unproven players who could crumble under pressure here . Of course Europe have the LIV players and Victor Hovland who destroyed his swing and is only now climbing back up . Win the first session , keep that lead until the singles and I think we can retain the cup

Ryder Cup Thread on 14:43 - Sep 25 with 4994 views | queensparker | The Ryder Cup is pretty much the only time the Yanks play in a big global team tournament against another country/continent at a game they're good at, and they just don't know how to conduct themselves at all. Come across as complete c--ts every time, either rude arrogant tossers when they win or total spoilt brats if it doesn't go their way

Its got nothing to do with them, stay in the background or stay at home.

Especially once Scheffler started to walk away with it. I wondered if the locals had made some menacing comments. It's all set up for a perfect storm of jingoism this weekend anyway. I feel for the decent ones who hate that shyte. They still exist but are drowned out by the madness these days. Imagine a European win in front of Trump.

The funniest thing about that celebration is the fact Leonard raced around and hugged the first person he saw in red who was a priest walking inside the ropes.Turns out he was not a priest at all just a random guy who had the balls to make his way inside the ropes and follow that group all day .He is etched in history every time that putt is shown

Seems to be at its worst on the first tee, think once you're past that it's relatively bearable. And you can imagine all the coaching the players have had to block out the noise, focus on your game, etc. Fairly even so far.

Especially for the afternoon session once the alcohol has kicked in.American sports fans and booze don’t mix very well. I can already hear the orange one calling it the greatest comeback in the history of sports.
