Although dismayed at myself for the draw on Saturday I blame the fact I wore the pink shirt.

True to forum rules a loss means adios.

So I've stretched a bit and ran it off.

QPR 2 Oxford 1

Kone and Saito.

I'll feel a whole lot better if they are.

2-0 -One of those mythical 'routine' wins, with a goal in each half. Have a feeling Jimmy might sit this one out, to try and get himself up to speed, with Morgan playing at RB. Expect Cook in for the mad lad, Hayden for Varane, Smyth for Vale and Dembele for Saito.

Need a win in this one - 4 points out of nine acceptable, five would be great and seven amazing for the week.
Love to see the momentum continue.

Reading that Chef Weds done a number / done their homework is a concern.
Hopefully JS can mix things up so we’re not becoming too predictable

I think Frey will start and other changes likely such as Smyth coming in and hopefully Samuel Field getting a run out

Cherish and enjoy life.... this ain't no dress rehearsal

Too soon but I'd expect 3 or 4 changes to freshen us up and Kone will be fired up after looking disappointed in himself at Hillsbrough.
3-1.

Wish I could be like David Watts

I reckon we're due a few goals. QPR 5 Oxford 0.

I’d go with the following:

Nardi

Dunne Cook Morrison RND
Smyth Field Madsen Saito
Kone Dembele

I think Dembele playing off Kone could be effective. He’s quick, like Burrell, so gives us that option still. I think he’ll want to find space to receive the ball to feet and if we can get it to them he can hurt teams. And playing him there is less risky than RW. Smyth did well there in the first half before injury.
Varane has played a few games now, and, personally, I don’t think he’s playing very well. I cannot see how Hayden is ready to start a game fitness wise with no pre-season, and he’s looked off it when he had come on. Madsen seems in decent nick, so keep him. Field is fit and scored a brace against in this fixture last season.

Cook for Mbengue feels like the right swap with Oxford being a Gary Robert long ball merchant team. Mbengue is only 6’ and not the greatest in the air. If we’re dealing with lots of high balls into the box with Nardi in goal, I think we’ll want Cook (and Field) on the pitch.

Tons of options from the bench.

Oxford form over the last four games isn't half bad - forgetting the loss to Sheff U as a bad day, they've drawn with Coventry, Leicester and Beat Bristol C.....could be trickier than their position suggests....or is this the year we actually start beating teams we should!!!

That was last year. We couldn’t beat anyone above us last season!

I think a 2-1 is likely.
Oxford have scored quite a few goals this season, it's mainly their defence that is letting them down.

The manager speaks…

1
M40 pile up Witnail and I edition - Qpr vs Oxford Match Thread on 16:45 - Sep 30 with 2937 viewsgazza1

Whereas the last two team selections have been relatively easy/obvious to predict but the team against Oxford is much more difficult to predict.

Certainly there will be changes, apart from 2/3 of the players we were very average indeed in their performances against a beatable Sheff Wednesday team.

The manager has no options keeper wise so Nardi. I really cannot see him dropping Captain Dunne, nor RND so that leaves the two CB's. Out of the two CB's, if he does rest/drop one of them I would expect that to be Morrison with Cook coming in but that is highly debatable. Midfield I think Field may be introduced next to Madsen ( I was not overjoyed with the signing of Hayden and his last two appearances have been pretty average indeed). Smyth could be introduced wide in place of Vale and Saito(??) to remain the other wide player, it depends how exhausted he is. The final two being, perhaps, Kone & Burrell who I thought that they were not very good on Saturday. So just 3 or at most 4 changes.

The Manager has some tough decisions to make re Team selection but I am sure he will be confident, like the players & myself of 3 points against another average side.

On the centre backs, Mbengue is one away from a booking, and knowing him that won't take much longer, so depends how much you want him at Bristol on Saturday.

Most QPR games, i get some kind of feeling how it could turn out. Even, if i end up being totally wrong.

This game, i have no idea.

A loss would be damaging, especially if doubled up with losing at Bristol also.

In the real world it looks like a comfortable win, but team changes, players needing more minutes to stop from becoming stale etc, its a tough one to predict.

So with zero conviction, two nil for ourselves in a game that's likely to be thoroughly dull is my final answer....

As I'm guessing someone in the LFW Glossary thread must have said:

Depends which QPR turns up - Rip-roarin' Goal-scorin' or Joe Soap's army.

I go 4-1 to us.

I'm going tomorrow night. First game since Preston on the opening day. Really looking forward to it and seeing some of the new players in the flesh.

Come 9 pm the sky will be beginning to bruise and we shall be forced to make camp. Hopefully inside the Oxford penalty area. 3-0 to the R's.

One nil hoops with Madsen swinging one in first time top corner from outside the box - you know when you catch it so sweet it feels like you’re only feathering it.

The whole squad gets drug tested but produce a pouch of ‘pure unadulterated child piss’ that keeps the law at bay. [Withnail]

We then all listen to JS talk about halves [‘aalvz], adaptability, staying humble, and the fans - smiling like a junkie in a fix whilst checking the table one more time.

And then later, we remember our 9-5, our ageing parents, our diagnosed kids, our addictions, our dreams and exactly how much better we could treat those who love us.

After all that, we focus on Brizzle City.

It was, and will always be. This is the word.
