Rumours that if Jack Wilshire gets the Luton job, he’s the current favourite, he’ll be joining as assistant manager. Wonder if that means he’ll start working Saturdays?

I do not understand why, apparently, Bould is not at our First Team matches tbh. Strange arrangement!!!

Have you seen how many staff we have in the dugout and behind it as well?!

-- I like Bould though, and from the couple of inside training videos he seemed really good, and maybe is responsible for some of our more pragmatic play, where we look for the quick forward pass first.

Wiltshire always sounds like a complete helmet when I've listened to him on the Radio.

I really don't get the fixation on Steve Bould not being part of the match day team. His role covers all levels from the younger academy age groups through to the first team. He was not appointed to solely focus on the first team and match day coaching as that is Alou Diarra's role. Steve bould is often seen at home games, but you would need to reduce his non first team duties, if we expect him to also travel around the country as well.

This ^^

Maybe, just maybe, he has some agency in this decision and he actually likes having a 9 to 5 Monday to Friday gig for a change.

I do not care how many people are in the dug out tbh.

As I understand it Bould is the defensive coach which suggests to me that he is responsible for that area of the Team......he basically educates the players defensively and, also, how to deal with the ball when they are in possession of the ball & many other things defenders related.

I, therefore, think that Steve Bould should be at matches to watch how they play defensively.....why would he not be at the matches??? Too many staff in the dugout is nit a reason why.

PS - He doesn't need to be in the dugout just present on match days and get involved if necessary.

https://www.qpr.co.uk/news/2025/june/25/steve-bould-joins-as-head-of-defensive-c

He's the Head of Defensive Coaching and one of the First Team coaches.

"(Bould) takes on a new role at QPR which will see him coach at all levels, from the first team right through to the younger academy age groups.

The position is focused on the long-term development of players up and down the club’s structure while Bould will also be a valuable member of the first-team coaching staff."

As someone else has pointed out, he works through all levels at the club so if he were to be present at every first team match days he'd be in dereliction elsewhere.

I'd have thought someone as educated as you would have been able to work that out.

Speaking of the bench, who is the big bruiser who looks like a chunkier, Charlie Austin, who could keep order on the door if needs be?

It's something else to get angry about.

Some people, and its very present in many that follow Rangers, love a good moan.

There is at present, not much to moan about, but well done to those who have managed to dig this reason out.

Steve Bould - part time shirker.

Good work !!

So you're saying: Bould is only halfheartedly shirking and not doing it properly.

'kin typical, we can't even get full-time wastrels nowadays!

You wouldn't understand Shampoo, there is only one side that counts at professional level and that is the First team.....hence, you being one of the uneducated who thinks otherwise.

Anyways, it appears he does attend First Team matches as per a previous post & that is good news, he should be at first team matches.......

Thank you, kind Sir.

One of our breatheren messaged me the regimental team photo we put out a few weeks back. I'd totally forgotten to look at it. You know the one, has more backroom staff than footballers.

Results wise, maybe Gazza but otherwise you couldn't be more wrong.

The future of the club depends on developing players.

Btw please revisit the who misses out thread for a response to another of your posts.

Mate.....you heard the phrase surely -' its a results game' . The club is all about the first team.

But the bottom line is the Clubs 'top defensive coach' should be present at first team matches.
