are we safe, yes or no.... on 10:29 - Apr 10 by daveB | Looking at the fixtures I think Cardiff and Luton could both win this weekend and Portsmouth play Derby so one of those getting points Thats why last night was so big as could have been facing prospect of it being down to 1 or 2 point gap but now worse case it will be 4 points with 4 games left Easter Weekend is still the key one, win one of those and we can relax |
I wouldn’t like to be your therapist Dave if you genuinely believe we’re still not safe. [Post edited 10 Apr 10:32]

are we safe, yes or no.... on 10:43 - Apr 10 with 2286 views | Westway | Yes we're safe. There is no way any of the seven clubs between us and the last relegation place are going to go on a points run that will see us in trouble - let alone all of them! They're all abject.

I think we'll stay up now but as a club and fanbase whenver we put our feet up and get complacent things go wrong very quickly. It's not much of a stretch that if we don't win any of the next 3 games we'll be right back in trouble
are we safe, yes or no.... on 11:30 - Apr 10 with 2132 views | themodfather | 7 pts clear and better goal diff than many below us, yes not guaranteed yet but safe. phew, nervy times. but without major cash injection we are going to do this season after season any money from Eze will likely go to the bank to clear debts ?? with some to squad.
are we safe, yes or no.... on 11:38 - Apr 10 with 2092 views | CroydonCaptJack | I wonder if Preston fans are having this conversation. Our third goal moved us above them. I don't think Luton are going to pick up ten points from five games (although, interestingly they have picked up nine from their last five) and are both of Cardiff or Derby getting another 8 points ? It is not impossible, granted but then there are other teams like Stoke and Hull who need a couple of wins. It would take a bizarre combination of results to relegate us after last night I think.

Yeah. Took a peek on the Derby fans forum and they are of course thrashing out all the relegation permutations and who all the contenders are playing. Not mentioning us at all.
are we safe, yes or no.... on 12:17 - Apr 10 with 1936 views | Lblock | I was quite confident after last nights result but..... Then you start thinking about yet more injuries. Ashby probably starting next game Anderson and Madsen being in the same 11 from kick off Having no strikers and playing an Aussie so far out his depth it would take him three days to paddle back to shore on his surfboard One more positive result alongside negative results for a few below us and we should be fine... should

Saito back, Kolli even fitter, Fox at left back so Ashby still on the bench, Frey possibly back in the firing line ( according to the offy) maybe not all bad news. Hen he’s not there you realise how key Sam Field is to the team | | | | Login to get fewer ads

Not that bizarre All it takes is up to lose the next 3 games Cardiff beat Stoke & Oxford Oxford beat Sheff Wed or Leeds Derby beat Portsmouth & Luton Hull beat Swansea & Preston Gap back down to 2 points It's unlikely but if we don't get any more points this season I'm not as confident as everyone else that we are staying up

Oh Dave, always with the scenarios Cardiff beat Stoke & Oxford MAYBE ONE WIN Oxford beat Sheff Wed or Leeds BOTH UNLIKELY (especially based on what I saw last night) Derby beat Portsmouth & Luton MAYBE ONE WIN Hull beat Swansea & Preston MAYBE ONE WIN I mean it will be a very special set of circumstances for all of those to come off as you suggest.

As I say unlikely but not really impossible It's amusing seeing everyone say 24 hours ago we were doomed and now suddenly nothng can go wrong

Well yes kinda true - but we won last night and are on 49 points so the probability of getting relegated is fairly reduced even if we don't get another point this season.

I remember Danny Baker on 606 saying that if Millwall went 2-0 up he'd always stand up out of his seat, stretch out his hands and shout "NOTHING CAN GO WRONG NOW!". Pelters ensued. I feel like that today. I know we're not safe, but I'm saying we are. I'm Danny Baker.

Is that really what everyone was saying or just a few maybe? But, that result, at this time of the season, after the run we have had is bound to have everyone feeling a bit brighter. You can get 500-1 on Paddy Power if you want to soften the unlikely blow Dave.

I would say the majoirty on here were of the mindset that we were going to struggle to stay up and that we'd lose at Oxford Of course it's a great result and we should feel a lot happier about life, all I'm saying is we still need a few more points to make sure. It's the same as last season when we beat Preston at home and it was seen as job done, people were saying the same thing not a chance we can go down now but in reality if we had lost those games v Leeds and Coventry we'd have gone down on goal difference

are we safe, yes or no.... on 07:49 - Apr 8 by Harbour | Reminds of Brum last season they looked safe then dropped like a stone. If we survive I think it will be close. It’s the injuries that worry me if we don’t get some back soon can’t see where the points are coming from. |
Yes got that wrong well done rangers well done Marti for getting a tune out of this group with all our injuries. Did not see last night coming very happy to be proved wrong. Hopefully we will get a few more points and maybe some more wins.

Harsh on Bennie;. Wasn't that his first start? He was recruited as a winger, or a defensive midfielder, not as our only striking option.

We'll beat either or both Swansea and Preston and should get a draw or win at Sunderland as they'll be in play off mode. Burnley could easily be a draw as could Brizzle, who draw a lot of away games.

Agree with you - a little more confident but not home and dry- on the player take but a little harsh on Bennie - playing out of position and up against the normal physical championship centre backs. Unfortunately either says a lot about our injury situation or that Marti doesn’t think much of the others - hopefully Kolli. will be available next game - with Saito and Dembele playing their part too but it is how lightweight we are up front that worries me the most.

are we safe, yes or no.... on 16:52 - Apr 10 with 1315 views | francisbowles | If Bennie has to start again on Saturday, then there will be some serious coaching about how to avoid being dominated by a giant championship old head centre back or two. Credit to Daniel though he started fairly well and even when he couldn't get past their CBS he kept trying and chasing. He should be better for the experience.
are we safe, yes or no.... on 19:06 - Apr 10 with 1188 views | Loft1979 | Directly on that note. 1. Bennie has been in the 1st team all year, but I do think Sutton or Petrie should be getting a look now that we have significant pressure lifted. As exhibited again, fresh youthful legs applying pressure is the 1st objective, a little ability to take a shot is 2nd. What we don't need is giving the ball away in our half. Sorry to lose Field though. But happy Saito will be back.

Just not happening if you look at all the fixtures and who plays who. In your scenario Derby beating Pompey etc, it keeps Pompey below us etc etc. I think 46/47 will be 3rd bottom. Edit, used this and without another point we finish 18th, 3 points above the drop. https://thefishy.co.uk/calc.php [Post edited 10 Apr 19:13]

I simply can’t be doing with working out permeatations and who will win what etc . Last night told us that results can be ‘odd’ this time of year . Least season too for example . But the pundits and commentators on Sky last night all agreed that a team will go down with more than 50 points this season. Not sure if that’s realistic or not but another win would make feel a lot better .
