Ooh - I wonder who you might mean. Another poster who prefers the comforts of caricature and snide asides to authentic discussion with a real person with complex and shifting views. And talking of caricatures, if that's your view of LfW (a prison-house of conformity rather than a rubunctious fans' board with healthy friction and challenging views - well, at least some of the time), I wouldn't exactly be turning cartwheels if it were me running it. Perhaps a real-life cult where you can put everyone under the same roof like a flock of sheep and scapegoat perceived 'outliers' to your heart's content would be more to your taste?
What was your point about Marti again? (Oh, yes - you don't have one!)
Having run the place so appallingly that it's still here and thriving after 20+ years while basically all the other QPR message boards have died off around it, I might treat myself to a little cartwheel or two. After all, just imagine how well it'll go when I finally get my act together and reach your self-proclaimed standards.

Take it as a 5* on TrustPilot, Clive.
Those possessed by devils, try and keep them under control a bit, can't you ?

It's amazing that someone who despises us all so much spends so much time posting.
I flip between a) surely no-one can be that lacking in self awareness and b) surely no-one could keep up a seemingly obvious wind up for this long.
Mind finally explodes...

I'd stick with him , I think he has done well, oh and Stainrod if you really dislike most of the people posting on here and you don't Iike the way Clive runs the board then why don't you f uck off and find another board? I think you deep down like playing the pantomime villian and I'll be honest I actually find some of your over the top reactions hilarious 😂.
AND WHEN I DREAM , I DREAM ABOUT YOU AND WHEN I SCREAM I SCREAM ABOUT YOU!!!!!

I think you're under the misapprehension that other posters aren't in possession of critical thinking skills or have benefitted from a decent education. You consistently mistake consideration for the running of the site and the paucity of engagement with yourself as some sort of weakness, rather than a combination of decency & a recognition that nobody has to engage with your performative sense of self on a fans' message board.
If you want people who are prepared to put the effort into engaging with you to the level you demand, go and write a thesis and defend it at a viva, with people who are paid to engage with you.

Each to their own and that - just do it on your own if you don’t play well with others.
This thread is an interesting read.
Discussion between Stevec and Padulas_shampoo is very interesting and although I, in the main come down on the side of PS , as I do often , there is more than a bit of of what Stevec says that rings true for me personally . Fans expectations are dumbed down a little due all sorts of things like finances for example and in general we put up with multiple long winless runs and awful football at times with barely a murmur where in the past all hell would break loose. Some of it is defeat fatigue , some of it is us being beaten into submission .
But in the main, (of course there are people who are not ) this is an intelligent fan base who mostly understands, the constraints on recruitment, basic understanding of finances, the constraints the head coach has and the squad that for the most part is, assembled for him . For my limited knowledge there is still a bit of a rotten core although in fairness CN has cleared some out. But a lot still remains in situ. As Clive quite rightly says again , MC has dressed and healed for the most part the self inflicted wounds we committed on ourselves and keeps our head above water .
I do think though , that the fan base will run out of patience eventually, with some aspects of how the team plays and losing streaks if it continues. We do need to see improvement next season but a lot once again depends on recruitment and that is such a concern for me . Madsen is doing ok right now but the jury is still out on him and Celar especially. We can’t recruit players that take 10 months to vaguely look like footballers . We have to also recruit players that play a system that suits them and the players that are already here . If Celar and Kelman are here next season , we have to play different to how we are playing now otherwise they will look poor again when it’s not necessarily their fault .
I’m waffling . Enjoy your Easter Sunday people .

I thought the second losing streak was unlucky. We played top 6 teams during that period - with limited options up front - and the games we lost were by the odd goal, often in unfortunate circumstances, like the penalty at West Brom and the last minute goal at Coventry. We came through. Marti (and the lads) stuck at it on the training ground and turned it around. The boy done good.

Largely agree, we'd always said March looked tough and it was. Though that period was coloured by the performance at Boro, where we did not look arsed and would have got a result if we had, and West Brom, where our approach against ten men was lamentable for the third time this season.

Shows the mentality of some when they only mention the recruitment of Masden and Celar and conveniently forget Nardi, Morrison, Saito, Varane, Dembele, Edwards, etc.

I hope he stays and I hope he has learnt what works and what doesn’t by the time we start next season. I hope we get some better, more suitable new players and retain the ones we need for the next season too. I hope his relationship with Nourry improves and they start working together more cohesively.
BUT hope is not a strategy and something significant needs or change if we are to get the best out of Marti and the team.
Whilst we have played some good football at times (for half a game mostly) and ground out some results that kept us safe, we have also repeatedly shit the bed or just not turned up when it suits during the last couple of years. So whilst most of us think he’s doing a great job under the circumstances, it’s all relative and perhaps the perception elsewhere is that we are consistently inconsistent under Marti whose main achievement on his QPR CV section to date = ‘prevented relegation’ - twice.
I don’t think another club is going to pay a large sum to have him released from a contract and I don’t think he will leave without another (better) offer. Why would anyone do that in any job, given the choice. I also don’t think Nourry will fire him either.
Has he taken us as far as he can go ? Unless something fundamental changes, perhaps he has. Doesn’t mean he’s leaving though and until someone breaks the impasse or his contract simply expires, I don’t think we are sticking or twisting either.
Maybe he’s just running the contract down to become a free agent. I suspect we will never know because any termination will be covered in legal NDAs and contract confidentiality clauses.
My overriding concern is what happens if he leaves - who’s next at the house of fun ? A yes man that does what Nourry says ? I fear the worst if that’s the case and that’s why I’d prefer to retain Marti but he and Nourry need to sort their shit out together, find a system that works for the players we have and perform more consistently.
I think the current squad is a lot weaker than the squad that first Gerry and then Ollie failed to keep in this division in 2000/01 so relatively speaking 'prevented relegation’ is no mean achievement.
I completely agree with your concerns around whether or not there is any coherent succession planning for when Marti leaves because for me those mid-table finishes become relegation battles and invariably, relegation.
It's been said a hundred times here but we've changed managers, players, squads and backroom structures (often to accommodate a manager that's gone a season later) and we're seemingly no closer to the solution. The one opportunity we had to effect real organisational change when Les resigned and Hoos checked out - the cleansing of the Augean stables - we allowed Nourry to appoint himself to both roles.
The only thing left to change is the ownership and that will require a significant initial investment, an annual £25m infusion just to stand still and absolutely no guarantee of success.

Or leave out Santos and Ashby?
Probably all guilty of bending the facts to suit an argument .
I mentioned Madsen and Celar because they are the ones that have smashed our budget for this summer and yet have been particularly poor overall. That’s hugely relevant. However I also address Celar in the final paragraph above hinting that it’s not all his fault and every post I’ve written about Madsen in the last 3 weeks has been resoundingly positive (maybe except this one 😄) . Much more positive than the majority on here .
So you see, easy to leave things out to support your argument.

I think him and Xavi (no idea why I called him Axel yesterday) have to stay. Rome wasn't built in a day and if this club is to gradually grow we can't let those two Rome or roam. This takes 3-4 years minimum to get going properly. If he and Xavi are happy to stay under contract we keep trying to improve.
