The Swansea Match Thread. 15:12 - Apr 20 with 24734 views | Boston | They're on a four game winning streak, God knows why as they have nothing to play for, as are we after the Preston win. So, is it to be a dour listless performance from both squads, or will the relief of mid table mediocrity bring a flowing relaxed holiday atmosphere to them? I'll go for an entertaining 2-1 to the Rangers.

The Swansea Match Thread. on 16:59 - Apr 21 by aston_hoop | Thats 5 wins in a row for Swans now and only one goal conceded in that time (the Dembele one). Good side. |
They could be dark horses next season I reckon. We won't be...that's for sure. Our home record is going to look bad again if Burnley fill their boots. Another underwhelming season crawls to an end thankfully.

The Swansea Match Thread. on 17:08 - Apr 21 with 2124 views | Rangersw12 | Thought Colback was decent again but Madsen showed that he is such a luxury player and clearly didn't fancy it when pressed although still better than he was earlier in the season Lovely finish by Dembele and great to see Sutton make his debut but felt like an end of season game
The Swansea Match Thread. on 17:08 - Apr 21 with 2121 views | derbyhoop | Far too poor for 70 minutes. Swansea pressed well and we didn't/couldn't match their physicality. Nice to see Sutton get on. If he's as good as the DS watchers suggest, we may have a player. Another good assist from Madsen and a fine finish from Dembele. But, if you lose the physical battle in midfield, in the Championship, you don't wine lmany games. If Colback is let go, we will need somebody more than Field and Varane as DCMs.

The Swansea Match Thread. on 17:12 - Apr 21 with 2042 views | Wegerles_Stairs | We were abysmal today until the last 20 minutes. Marti picked the wrong side and we were playing with nine men first half. Frey should have started. | | | | Login to get fewer ads

Spot on. I like MC, but that starting lineup was way too weak. Also, why switch Madsen to the wing when he has created 10 chances in 3 games playing at 10? Just bizarre. Goes in the centre and gets an assist almost immediately. Fox & Anderson will be gone in the summer. As for Yang, suggest he goes back to Spuds and stays there. I'm coming to the conclusion that if Lille or Monaco rumours are true then we should cash in.

Absolutely. No wins in first 9 home games of season and now it looks like it will be no wins in the last 6 home games of the season as I cannot see us scoring against Burnley's mean defence. Swansea complete the double of spoiling my Christmas and Easter as well.

Agree with the Madsen position switch. Looked wrong from the off. Don't forget Kolli is only 19, Eze and Chair hadn't even gone on loan yet at his age. Plus this is not an easy team to come into as an attacking player and look fluid.
The Swansea Match Thread. on 17:34 - Apr 21 with 1625 views | Juzzie | I think we have to give Swansea some credit here. A ‘bad’ team doesn’t win five on the bounce with only one goal (us) conceded. Maybe they were just better than us regardless of what the manager, coach & players could do. Anyways, Friday was more important and with just a few games to go time to just relax and not get stressed over it. My son’s team is moving up a level next season and the weekend coming sees the first of a series of friendly’s as everyone gets used to 9v9, bigger pitch, halves as opposed to quarters, no retreating to halfway line on goal kicks, offsides & lino’s (gonna be carnage!) and possibly yellow & red cards. A lot for the boys and coach’s to adapt to and I can enjoy it without the shadow of a QPR relegation to worry about. Happy Easter everyone, it ain’t been that bad…. we are safe. They also used fouls to break up any momentum we tried to build in the first half - they should have had a couple of yellows for persistant fouls. Think we missed the work-rate of Saito and Smyth and Fox was poor again as he was at Stoke. The late change with Varane pulling out didn't help. Also confirmed that is one of either Madsen/Anderson, not both of them

The Swansea Match Thread. on 18:17 - Apr 21 with 1127 views | mart_Goblin | The manor of the defeat was the most frustrating thing today . For an hour it was really men against boys . I thought we were disjointed, weak and bullied for a large part of the game . Caveats for a lot of things like injuries, injuries in the warm up, people out of position, players not fully match fit etc etc but when you get bullied and beaten for desire and guts and the will to win then I think we are entitled to be unhappy . Why no subs at half time ? It had to be changed so I was very surprised by that . If Frey can come on at 51 then he can come on at 45. The 2 subs we made , made us even more disjointed for a couple of minutes and it’s 2-0. Too many poor performances. When Fox is bad he’s very very bad . He wasn’t the only one though . It’s dead rubber , so I won’t lose any sleep but I hate seeing us so second best . It made no difference to the result as we were guff and got what we deserved , but how poor was that referee? F*ck my old boots . He was bloody awful .
The Swansea Match Thread. on 18:22 - Apr 21 with 1054 views | ManinBlack | I don't think we should be overly surprised. One thing we have been consistent with is when we play well away and win, we often follow it up at home with a lousy display dropping points. Just winning two on the bounce is difficult and has been for some time. We had a golden spell to get out of the bottom 3 but we have reverted to type. We won at Hull then lost at home to Sheffield Wed, beat Blackburn then lose to Coventry, win at Oxford then draw with Bristol and now win at Preston and lose to Swansea at home. This makes it difficult to pull away from the bottom and to instill confidence. I know I keep harping on about it but if big money is not spent on squads in this day and age then expect inconsistency.
