TVOS Preview - Rochdale v Hartlepool United on 16:00 - Apr 26 with 3182 views | dingdangblue | This could end up any score! Hartlepool look very quick and dangerous on the break but they don't look too interested in defending either. Hopefully a nice Bird 15 min cameo towards the end.

TVOS Preview - Rochdale v Hartlepool United on 16:03 - Apr 26 with 3156 views | Edindale | Sounds like Ayinde is performing well which is just what we need at this stage of the season! Would be inclined to try and get a goal for Kairo before Jay Bird if we are comfortable in the 2nd half. Bird could maybe start on Tuesday?

TVOS Preview - Rochdale v Hartlepool United on 17:09 - Apr 26 with 2823 views | WhitworthDale | That was a joy to watch. The game seemed to fly by. The entertainment we’ve been craving! Well done to the players and manager today, excellent performance. 2 points from our next two games will see us secure fourth. Who wouldn’t have taken that at the start of the campaign? More of the same please Jim and team! Funnily enough I think we’re a better side than what we’ve shown for many games this season. That sai do think 3rd would have been the highest outcome possible if we’d not been off form on a few too many occasions. York and Barnet untouchable really. If we play like this for the rest of the season and the playoffs. We’ve a chance.

Absolutely. What a beautiful performance that was, with some sublime football played. That’s the sort of fast, attacking football that’s going to bring the fans in. Ayinde, Henderson and Rodney all excellent, some of their movement was a joy to behold. And Gilmour brilliant yet again - as he has been ever match since East’s been out. Jay Bird is some player too, he was desperate to score in his cameo and it was never really in doubt that he would. Hartlepool played some good stuff too at the start, until Charman hit the post and it seemed to shatter their confidence.

Surely you would need the same figures for every other season as well to make any meaningful comparisons. And as mentioned, the high number of Tuesday games this season (8 in the league, the second-highest ever) will also have an effect on some folks' ability to attend. [Post edited 26 Apr 13:31]

Didn't watch the game, but will do soon on DAZN. From comments on here and X it sounds like we set off with real intent, against a decent attacking team in Hartlepool but we overpowered them in the end. Great to hear that we played some really entertaining stuff throughout. Well done everyone concerned. Brilliant to see Bird back on the pitch, and it will give the whole place a confidence boost. Up the Dale.

Excellent that today, moved the ball quickly and created loads of chances. We needed to enter the play offs with a barnstorming performance to enthuse the fans and the players did just that. There's no in between with our performances, that in itself makes us dangerous opponents for anybody in the play offs. Nothing but positives today, Hendo scoring in his final home league game, Rodney continues to score, Bird is back with a goal and Ayinde has his best game for the club. EEL also had a sound game and has been very good since he returned. A good crowd on today also. A mention for Hartlepool, they went out to enjoy themselves today and although they were thrashed they always looked capable of scoring and had quite a few talented footballers. Their fans were class. Fourth place is ours now and we can put it to bed on Tuesday. Well done to the manager and players for coming up trumps today, there's no reason we can't win them play offs if everybody believes. [Post edited 26 Apr 17:47]

Putting 5 past Wigan at their place is the last time we scored 5 in a league game Incredibly (and i'm sure TVOS will correct this if it's wrong) but the last time we scored 5 or more in a home league game was 21 October 2008 (6-1 v Chester) It was just a quick scan through the fixture lists, but hardly seems possible given our exploits since then? May also be the longest interval between scoring 5+ at home

And those around at the time will always remember the 1968-9 promotion season when we scored more 6s than Garry Sobers ( well not quite).

Yes, correct v Chester, some 6031 days ago, which is the longest gap.

Comparing these stats is a load of bollocks really because of the level that we are playing at. The year we went down under BBM from League One were playing the likes of Hull, Ipswich, Wigan and Charlton. BBM was a rank bad manager and McNulty is of the same sort at a much lesser level. We go again on Tuesday, next Monday and then in the playoffs, a 5 game shootout so let's go and win them all!

It was following on from DAlien asking when we last scored five at home and updating a previous post which was incomplete because the season hadn’t finished. Hadn’t really noticed the season we went down under BBM, only how good our home record has been in terms of points and goals this season.

Yes but in our record season 2016-17 we were playing the likes of Sheffield United, Bolton, Coventry and Charlton. You can't have it both ways. However, I agree BBM was shite but although McNulty gives me the enthusiasm of an upcoming bout of typhoid, his record does actually compare quite well. It's not a load of bollocks as league tables are the only real data fans can compare.
