It was a straight continental you say, aye but when ?, donkeys years ago ?, the works went 12hr shifts years ago, did the CES even go 12hr shifts I ask myself.
So you didn't work proper shifts for years and years by the sound of it then, I can't remember the CES ever working a Xmas either (might be a skeleton staff) but proper work, are you sure ?

I worked there for donkeys years in a roll servicing most of the other departments in the works, so I know what most other departments worked.
When a torp a few years ago derailed and blew up in front of the CES why was there nobody killed in the CES ? answer because it was in the night and there was hardly any people about.

With the seasons start just a couple of weeks away and the injury list we seem to have REALLY shows how small our pool of first teamers is at presant, many areas need cover , am guessing the recruitment team will have to work "longer shifts" to improve the situation but with our capatain going for a scan today and Santos deff missing the start we are already down to bare boards in that area,nevermid the other areas we can all see whats needed, Am sure things going on behind the scenes but things on the face of it need to happen soon so we can start with a positive first game away | | | |

yes we are fortunate the window is still open but we shouldnt be in ths position at this point and now we may end up using a loan spot which coukd have felt gaps elsewhere.

They generally struggle when they do. I am 100% convinced it’s because they aren’t prepared for the pace and physicality. Not because they aren’t talented enough.
Abdulai was the next big thing when he was in the U21s, he was like a fish out of water in the first team. Kyrell Wilson was prolific then got 1 goal in half a season at Yeovil. Plenty of other examples.

or Naughton but neither he or Christie are no longer here they were valuable....though perhaps expensive.
Is Lissah still injured? He did look ok in the couple of senior games he played
I think folk have overreacted to the friendlies at times rhe majority of the players in the pitch were u21s and playing without a structure,im sure certain individuals of the u21s couks be ok when playing alongside the majority of the first 11 | |

I think you are right .We hang on to these prospects for too long instead of getting them out there in the real world competing with seasoned pros. then all of a sudden we are left with a bunch of 20 + year olds who are totally untried and tested in the "real arts" of pro football , by then it's too late for 90% of them 'cos there is another generation below them pushing through. | | | |

Lissah is the man to step up but has has a torrid time with injury just as he was transitioning to the main squad. He was very impressive for two seasons in the u21 and never gave the ball away cheaply.
Swansea signed Blair McKenzie from Scotland who has 20 games for Morton but was recalled from loan last season.
He needs to play with a seasoned pro like Burgess to find his feet I would think. Even Guehi has some early difficult days. I recall a 4-4 game maybe at Hull city. Lissah is still injured.
Perhaps Swansea needs a utility defender to cover CB and FB. Sam Parker another needing fame time and for the squad [Post edited 28 Jul 18:12]
