MC has been on GL for nearly 6 weeks now - and not a whisper from the club, not even to clarify what they propose to do with him (or he with them)! It's pathetic and unacceptable. The club also, obviously, needs to be planning its pre-season and recruitment. We're supposed to be operating a professional entity, with buy-in from the fans. Pah!
We have a new manager but we don't like to mention it. If someone finds out, we lose our competitive advantage. However, when we do say something, we'll sell an extra 1500 season tickets, as long as it's on TikTok.
Got it.
I was confused at first but it actually makes a lot of sense. In unrelated news, I've just taken up glue sniffing.

Manchego is a great cheese!
Come on … Manchego is one of the best secrets in football. Well developed and a strong character. I can see him flying from the back and slicing some lovely crosses. He’s going to be a cracker.

Firstly I was not putting words in your mouth. On page 2 of this thread you said that it was "derranged" to not be furious with Nourry that Edward's had left or that Saito had left (even though he was small and you we're simultaneously furious that we had signed him in the first place for that reason) and i used Clarke Salter and Kelman as my reasons in that specific context about why we should not necessarily be furious yet. I ignored your post there because I believe I was very clear that I was addressing your bullet pointed remarks on page 2 of this thread. You went off on a tangent unrelated to that and I didn't want into a drawn out thing. I had made my point.
And as for the PR strategy with news I would say both bits can be true. The contract renewal news as an example. The Lloyd, Kolli, Morgan then Chair contract renewals were spread out for the reasons I give. Then yes at the same time it is also true that the club have an approach of also grouping significant news around big dates, the Dembele signing and Clarke Salter renewal being one example and I anticipated of this month season ticket deadline as well.
The ticket sales are up 15% under Nourry despite our horrendous home record and a cost of living crisis exacerbated by our latest incompetent government. Yet to see anyone else attempt to explain the reason for the sudden jump
I wanted to reply to this last paragraph when I read it but didn't have the time.
In 2022/23 across the season our average attendance was 14,977. This past season it was 15,826. That's an increase of 5.6%. 2021/22 the average was 14,437, so an increase of 9.6%. So firstly, QPR attendances / ticket sales have increased since Nourry came on board objectively but I don't know where you're getting 15% from, that looks to be untrue.
Secondly, since COVID football attendances pretty much across the board have increased nationally and that's certainly true of the Championship.
Last season, our average attendance was 86.2% of the capacity. Back in 2022 it was 78.6%. So again objectively Loftus Road attendances have increased by 9.2%. You appear to be attributing that entirely to the existence of Christian Nourry.
However in that same time span, Championship attendances have risen from 67.6% of capacity on average up to 76.2%. This is growth of 13%. QPR's attendance has risen by a smaller percentage than the division as a whole. Of all 16 clubs that have been in the Championship across those seasons, QPR's attendance growth is 12th. Only Stoke, Cardiff, Sheffield United and Swansea have increased their attendances less.
If attendance is entirely Nourry's doing I think it would be fair to challenge him on why ours has only risen by 9% against an average of 13% whilst teams like Hull and Preston have increased by 65% and 31% respectively. There are 11 other CEO's doing a better job than him on this measure and only 4 that are worse. He's getting quite used to relegation battles isn't he?

If he is focused solely on gen z tik tockers it's a concern because they are apparently obsessed with success Nourry doesn't really do success even relatively. Doing OK personally I imagine.
How are ST up 15%... every year there's growth but on a now 17k ground how are we growing continuously? Sounds like crappie to me
I'm a uni lecturer so I'm all too familiar with the phenomenon of the gen Z attention deficit. And I understand to an extent the need to account for clipped content being the main mode of consumption in this demographic.
But, surely that only works if you've got content to clip. The reason English football remains so appealing is the history and the drama inside the ground. At some point the neglect of actual match going supporters is going to destroy the 'product' you'd have thought.

Good point. However, and maybe someone will know for definite, aren't attendances increasing across the PL and EFL?
Also, anyone under the age of 30 years old has been brought up in the PL era. They have known nothing but all seater stadiums, Messi & Ronaldo, brand new stadiums, transfer windows slamming shut, tourist fans, ballers, etc. Faced with that, coupled with the rise of social media, the club has to remain 'out there' with any content attracting new youngsters and clicks.
I've seen some of the shyte my daughter watches on TikTok, the QPR content looks positively deep. I don't get social media and I would prefer a well written club statement released just once, but now we have a week long reveal. Yet I'm older than 30 and, again, going to give Nourry the benefit of the doubt, he is trying to engage with the younger generation, which he is part of. And we want and need younger fans, they are the future of the club, not us. The match day is miles better when youngsters are there in number (and this is happening I think) else LR would feel like Twickenham.

Anyway, has our manager been revealed yet?
I guess WWC has me on ignore 😂

For your own reasons, you omitted the average crowd for 2023/24, which was somehow 16,718, apparently, so our average home crowd was actually down just short of 5% last season on the previous one. Against previous seasons, the underlying average is still inexplicably healthy, however, given the team's performances.
If things were going extremely well at the top of the footballing tree, however, we'd likely still be averaging no more than low-end 20,000+ crowds, as anyone with any knowledge of QPR history will tell you, which should also enframe any discussions about stadium moves/upgrades etc.

Well Brentford are doing just that and filling their new ground with a smaller support base than us, so I do think we could get pretty good crowds if doing as well as they are and we had a stadium to accommodate them. Neither of those things likely to be tested anytime soon though. The modern day prem of course attracts tourists also which with our location we could benefit from (money wise if not so much atmosphere wise). Also good away followings would add to the numbers.

Agree. Reason our crowds went down last year was almost exclusively down to removing the lower tier at the school end from away support and removing half of its availability from the home support.
Absolutely crazy decision possibly taken due to the mad idea circulating that somehow our home form would improve if we had home fans only in that notoriously noiseless section. That went well.

I did sugest that we might be doing this at the time & praised the club if it was the case. Buy spare tickets & it is revenue to offset FFP instead of "loaning " the same amount & having to convert into valueless shares!
Perhaps I'm wrong, but I can't see anything illegal in anyone buying tickets & not using them.

Last paragraph is simply not true . At all
Agreed. Well I only have my 19 year old daughter as any sort of barometer. She's on numerous social media platforms as you'd expect but is forever asking me "Dad, what's actually going on, what they saying on LFW?". Obviously these days the answer is fcuk knows but you get my point.

Exactly . The few youngsters I know are all as frustrated as everybody else . In fact moreso . The younger generation can be very impatient as everything they need and get is immediate through , shopping, news , tv , social media etc . Whereas I’m just a grumpy old sod waiting for our club to cough into life here
