Manager situation 09:47 - Jun 8 with 87447 viewsstainrods_elbow

MC has been on GL for nearly 6 weeks now - and not a whisper from the club, not even to clarify what they propose to do with him (or he with them)! It's pathetic and unacceptable.
The club also, obviously, needs to be planning its pre-season and recruitment. We're supposed to be operating a professional entity, with buy-in from the fans. Pah!

What will/should happen next?

I wonder how long it takes to walk from Rennes… turns out it’s 4 and a bit days.

Maybe Stephan is doing a pilgrimage to the the hallowed turf of the TSG Elite Training & Performance Centre

It's OK I am sure Nourry's PR company will be spreading the good word across the whole football world.

I remain appalled by the owners committing to Nourry over Marti. I blame them the most. Get involved, for lord's sake. Get to the club during the season on non match days, see what is happening. Do something. Do anything apart from tweeting once every three months when we win. Talk to us. Give us a plan. Do an interview. Hello? Hello?

I see Plymouth are getting taken over by some consortium. It can be done, and whatever our cash flow disasters surely we are just as attractive as them.

I also blame the owners and just wish that someone/ consortium that knows how to run a successful sports team will buy the club or a big share of it and take over with the day to day running of it.

Rueben and Co don't know how it should be done and instead have trusted Nourry and Ferdinand before him, to do the job.

MC, has been treated disgracefully, even if his camp spoke to WBA about the vacancy there. He was clearly angry about the Ben Williams fiasco. They could have told him that he would be recalled for extra season.

Maybe Nourry thinks he can get someone better than MC (we can only hope he does), because as pointed out, this doesn't cover QPR with glory or make working with this Board very appealing.

Reading this in reverse whilst entertaining has left me with some questions that may save others some time:

Who is Stephen? what happened to Brian? and who is Gary?

Does anyone know what's going on?

If it makes you feel more optimistic, Hoos & Nourry have been trying to raise enough American funds to buy the club from Rubinho.

Those two being in control would not improve things imo.

Hoos was part of the reason why the club failed to make any progress in this division. He often claimed the ground held the club back, Brentford, Bournemouth and Luton all had smaller stadiums and still won promotion during his time here.

From what I have heard, yes, this is/was real, as Reilly was intended to be the face of the money and would replace Ruben as majority shareholder. Of course, neither Reilly, Hoos, nor Nourry have the personal wealth to buy the shares.

There have apparently been quite a few American accents on the Exec floor at LR in recent months.

However, I had also heard that it might not have legs. Sounds like it was tried/is being tried but may not come off.

Personally, I would be very wary of US investment. Their model is to leverage the club assets (ground for borrowing) and ultimately place the debt on the club itself.

Ruben is flawed in many ways (decision making, who he delegates to, lack of presence at the club he leads, etc) but he is benevolent. All the debt the club accrues he converts to equity meaning he writes it off.

I very much doubt any Americans would be quite so generous…

Yeah it looks like we should just be happy being run by benevolent idiots...

And I am still very much better the devil you know, because being QPR whichever owner comes next, you know they'd also be idiots and not at all benevolent.

For what it's worth, Le Parisien claims we are: "waiting to concretize the break with the former coach, the Spaniard Marti Cifuentes, before formalising the arrival of the 44-year-old French technician."

Do you think maybe Martì’s been buried under a defensive line of concrete steps leading from the back? Sounds very prone to a mistake and likely to end in an own-goal by the perpetrators.

It'll get done if I want it to, in one day. I might do, I might not. But people tell me this new guy is very good. I don't know but that's what I'm told. What I do know is that when I make it happen, if I make it happen, it will be beautiful. He'll be the most successful manager ever in the history of the world. No one will come close. And all because of me. In one day.

Sacked by Rennes after losing 5 of the first 10 games…should fit in well!! Hopefully when he eventually starts he has a better start…but we seem to start very poorly every season..
