Kolli 10:23 - Jul 1 with 23010 views | WestbourneR | Seeing a fair few negative assessments of him over this close season (Gallen & Dave Mc + several posters on here) saying he's either not good enough or should go on loan to L1. I'm totally perplexed by it. The guy is a rare gem. For me, the reason he's special is his back to goal game. It's something you don't get very often in a young player. Not only does he have a powerful strike, good feet and composure - he is also strong and relishes the battle and hold up stuff. He's also tall and good in the air. So yeah - he's not a 10, he's not a winger (not quick enough) - he's a striker. His stats speak for themselves, when he plays, one game in every two he tended to make something happen with an assist or goal. Stats aside, even just with the naked eye, you can just see he has what it takes. Best youth prospect at this club since Eze IMO. I don't get why people are down on him. He's just 20 years old and straight out of our youth team! [Post edited 1 Jul 10:24]

Kolli on 05:22 - Jul 15 by numptydumpty | I agree with you here Wilkins. Much rather keep Kelman than Kolli. There is vibes around the family bigging him up too early also. If we get a decent offer, I would be inclined to sell. His injury record also for me, at a young age, is troubling and he is at the very start of his career, and not ever gone through a whole season as,yet. His stock could be at its peak right now. A conundrum as there is clearly a chance he could massively improve but its all based on nothing as yet. He goes into the category for me - unproven.... Risky... [Post edited 15 Jul 5:24]

Feels like we may lose both Kelman and Kolli, Numpty. That would be a shame on both accounts IMO. Both players have some talent and potential that could be developed further at the club but I think we’ll take the money if it’s on offer. Just hope we negotiate a good sell on clause, especially if Kolli goes to France which isn’t a league full of cash these days. He’ll probably get a decent salary increase but we don’t benefit from that. I wonder what other younger players think about these moves because I’m undecided. 50% that it sends a bad message in terms of the clubs commitment (especially in Kelman’s development/loan situation) and 50% that it shows the others they could get a big move too. Oh, the wonders of the modern world we live in today….

Kolli on 16:15 - Jul 14 by Wilkinswatercarrier | I don't rate him particularly highly. If we can get a good fee with a big sell on we should be delighted. Don't forget, everyone at our club is for sale. |
At this level, his stats, for a 20 year old, suggest you're wrong Wilkins. I don't really know what more you want from the kid when he's out on the pitch as this stage in his career. I'd love to see what you said about Eze, I'm sure you also missed the point on him in the early stages too. However, I'm not saying Kolli is Eze level or ever will be. Eze was blessed with otherworldly talents. Kolli is just potentially very good. I'd expect Kolli to become a very effective Championship striker. If he works hard and injuries go his way I'd say he could play effectively in a top European league. So -- if we get an offer of £5 million or above plus a good sell on - and he's restless, then the deal should be done. Shame to say but if Kelman doesn't sign a new deal in the next few weeks then he has to be sold to the highest bidder asap as well.

Kolli on 11:01 - Jul 15 with 1516 views | francisbowles | It's far too early to know which way Kolli's career will go. His talent is obvious. His injury record is concerning. Does he have the nous to keep learning and improving his game so that he can establish himself at this level? Only time will tell. I am hopeful that with Williams back in the building, this lengthy, niggling injury can be managed carefully and eventually overcome. IF we get a decent offer, with a large sell on then, I believe Noury will try and get a deal done. Kolli, I believe ideally wants to stay here and get first team football but may be young and impatient and decide to move on.

Slightly deviating from the topic and not having a go at francisbowles or anyone in particular but I do keep reading that a large sell-on clause should be a condition in any player sale we make. Five years ago we sold Eze with a decent sell-on clause. And we're still waiting........... Given where we are now, trying to get back on track as a selling club, I wonder if we wouldn't be better off waiving the sell-on for our next few sales in favour of a bigger up front fee. It would mean more money to play with now and someone else can take the risk of developing that player's potential. I wonder how much the sell-on for Sinclair Armstrong was? And will we ever see any of it!? | | | | Login to get fewer ads

I still don't understand how we received a penny for Sinclair Armstrong. Getting anything for Dykes & Armstrong last summer was the best selling business this club has achieved for many a year! Back to Kolli, I've read many a post refer to accepting a "decent" offer for him. What is meant by decent? At his age & experience, if he was with another club, what limit would you put on Rangers paying for him? I suspect that would be a far lower figure than what the club would accept for him. Personally, I would consider £1 million as decent, but then, what I think our players are worth is often/always lower than what I see posted by others!

I thought Eze was good, but didn't work hard enough off the ball to ever play for a top 4 team. So far I've been right, and I don't expect it to change unless Arsenal gamble (I don't count Spurs as a top 4 team). Kolli? As a 10 or left wing, cutting in. Not in a million years is he a lone striker and never will be.

Kolli on 12:50 - Jul 15 with 1201 views | Pdog | I like Kolli, his barnet alone should add a few ££ to any price tag. Only half joking, he’s got that mix of raw potential and standout image that fuels the hype train. There’s clearly something there. The issue (for now) is we don’t quite know what he is. As Dave M mentioned recently, he’s not a wide man due to pace, not a lone striker type, more of a 10/play off the front man yeah i can see that, and probably needs a run of games (either our XI or on loan to cement and own it). But if things align, we could genuinely end up banking close to £20m for: A player who hasn’t played for us in 5 years One we questioned giving a new deal to just 12 months ago One who’s only started a handful of games but shown promise …with a chunky sell-on % thrown in for the latter two. All in all... That’s a pretty tidy return.

Ah one of the Eze doesn't run around enough brigade. It all makes a lot more sense now. Re Kolli. Seeing as we seem to dealing in definitive statements for our own subjective opinion - Kolli has shown he can be a striker and will continue to be a very good striker.

Quite pro Kolli . Got that knack of making things happen and it would be a shame if he went much prefer, i want to see how he progresses.

Did you ever think he'd play for England, look at ease in the Prem, and boss his team to win the FA Cup, though? Asking for a friend.

Perfectly entitled to hold that view about Eze, but it's not supported by his goals and goal contributions at premier league level, which is one of either every 2.5 games. They're astonishing numbers which have been achieved at a mid-table, Palace. No disrespect meant to Palace, wish we were in their position. 146 PL games; 34 goals; 23 goal assists. Methinks that you will be proved wrong in the fullness of time. Those numbers hardly suggest that, if it were Arsenal to whom he goes, it represents a "gamble". Prior to Trossard leaving Brighton for Arsenal, he was contributing either a goal or goal assist every 3 games. His goals and goal assist contributions with us arose every 3.25 games! He's most definitely still on an upward trajectory, misplaced perceptions of his lack of diligence notwithstanding. [Post edited 15 Jul 15:50]

I think you sell for what you (the club) consider to be the best you can get and then put in a sell on clause in case he/they 'set the world on fire'. Btw, I think we have seen some add ons for Eze. England cap?

Has he started a competitive game? Hoos strongly hinted at a past fans forum that's what it requires to trigger that payment.

According to www.transfermarkt.co.uk, Eze has 2 starts for England, both in friendlies. All his competitive game appearances have been as a sub https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/eberechi-eze/nationalmannschaft/spieler/479999/v

I’m pretty certain Eze came on in the Euros in 1 of the group games. Yes for Saka against Denmark. Edit again - I missed the key word “start”, so we’re not due anything. [Post edited 15 Jul 17:47]
