Anyone else going to Zurich tomorrow night? We are sat behind one of the goals in section B11,and although I’ll be wearing an England shirt rather than a QPR one,I’ll be waving my QPR flag, especially if Chloe comes on.
Come on England.

Reminds me a lot of the men's euros where we've got to the final without playing very well and with a bit of luck along the way. I fear we'll fall short again, but the extra day rest may help as this seemed to make quite a difference at the women's world cup with both England in the final and Australia in the 3rd place game seeming leggy after playing their semi final a day later than Sweden and Spain.

As an aside, how good is that black kit England wore tonight, love it.

Both the men and womens teams do seem to get tournament football now and do enough to win games without blowing anyone away, it's all very Germany which is a good thing

Agree with this.

England didn't play very well and will need to be better in the final against Spain or Germany. I think it will be a repeat of the World Cup final against Spain and maybe the same outcome, but well done to the lionesses for not giving up.

Good to see Chloe Kelly score the winner again. I thought she and Agyemang should have been brought on after 60 minutes.

Epic game last night and as mentioned earlier does look like all these keys moments in our favour our name may just be on the cup.

I do laugh at all the 'Football Managers' on here - Sarina has reached 4 major finals. I suspect she knows whats she is doing a whole lot more than several on here claim to.

Thought that whilst at times she was frustrating, Hemp was amazing. Just ran and ran and constantly defending in the 2nd half and regularly pushing forward.

As for the Italians, got their comeuppance with all the time wasting. As several have said, should have been more than 7 minutes but at least the ref set the tone by booking their keeper after only 77 minutes

It's always the same with England fans mate, nothing is ever good enough. Sarena, final after final and a trophy - far too late with her subs! How can that be, when they in fact worked perfectly?

And, of course, we had it all with Southgate. How dare you get to finals and take us further than usual on a regular basis? Don't you realise this is the Golden Generation with The Best Players in The World?

It really did feel like she could have made those subs earlier (shades of Southgate) but like you say can't really argue with a manager with that record of reaching finals.

For the most part we never really got going though, looked like the Sweden win had taken a lot out of the players; we had plenty of the ball but there was some poor decision making in the final third, not enough attempts on target. And not unlike QPR we were particularly poor down the left, Greenwood and Hemp did not have great games. Italy had their lead and it seemed they'd done enough to see the game out. But if you can't be good, be lucky, and the ladies made the key moments count.

Clearly whoever we play in the final, we need to be better. Bring on Sunday 5pm!

Italy at their cynical worst. They have learned from the men. Score one goal, pack the defence then turn up the shithousery. They got what was coming to them when England equalised in added time.

The Lionesses showed awesome levels of fitness though. Hemp and Russo never stopped. And our Chloe brings a spark of confidence whenever she comes on.

Looking forward to Sunday!

I managed to get a pair of tickets for the final on Sunday afternoon. They were certainly a lot cheaper than the flights, but I’m sure it will be worth it.

Agree, Hemp & Russo work so hard that they knacker the oppo defenders - Kelly & Aygemang have been the beneficiaries, like Russo herself and Toone were in 2022.

Spain v Germany heading into extra time, after German twice come close to scoring in the last minute of added on time, with Spain's goalie making two good saves in quick succession.

One of the best quotes ever by a pundit, courtesy of Rachel Brown-Finnis, about the Spanish 'keeper: "She's had nothing to do for months".

"Things had started becoming increasingly desperate at Loftus Road but QPR have been handed a massive lifeline and the place has absolutely erupted. it's carnage. It's bedlam. It's 1-1."

Yet another keeper beaten at their near post. Superb spin though.

Spain 1-0 at 115 minutes. Germany goalie screwed up, thought the Spain player was going to send a cross rather go for the goal

Absolutely dreadful from the German keeper. You just cannot get beaten near post from that angle. And she'd been doing so well too. Always cover your near post and leave the rest to your defence.

What Sarina, her backroom team, and the players have done brilliantly, is to get the tune that they have out of what they've got.

To reach three international finals is some achievement. Especially as they consistently struggle against teams who are more direct, physical, and pacey. Technically, they're as good as anyone else.

A friend of mine who played internationally for Ireland frequently points to how physicality is taking over the women's game. Go back to the last WC, and we really struggled against Nigeria and just couldn't get close to Spain in the final. Here, we've looked sluggish at times against France, Sweden, and Italy.

However, we're in the final! That's down to other attributes: skill, teamwork, and an incredible spirit. All of which will be needed on Sunday. A day's extra rest will help.

But if you think Italy can deploy shithousery, wait until you see Spain! One example springs to mind from the last WC final, England were breaking toward the end, and three of their lot fell to the ground in unison. The ref will be important on Sunday as Sarina's tactical subbing.

C'mon England!!

I was at the world cup final and tbf we got completely outplayed from start to finish. I hope it isn't the same this time.

Yeah, we did look very tired and leggy. One hopes after the high octane finishes in our last two games, there's enough in the tank come Sunday. We might be without James and Williamson looked wobbly. Who replaces the latter with will be crucial, as I fear Carter will get destroyed by the Spanish speed. Walsh, great player, also looked out on her feet against Italia.

Don't take this the wrong way, but I know Sarina felt your presence at the final jinxed us. I assume you're not flying in for the final in which case, our chances will significantly improve. Just sayin'.....

We'll be dead before half time is Wiegman starts with the same team as she has done against Sweden and Italy. Agyemang has to start, it would be criminal not to start her IMO.

Spain can be got at if you transition their press and Germany caused them quite a few problems last night. You simply have to take your chances when they come because Spain will almost certainly score. Agyemang will give the Spanish something different to worry about.
