Seems to have missed the entire pre season jaunt to sunnier climes !!

Was meant to be joining up in France after recuperating from an injury setback. Didn't play in the Toulouse game. Otherwise concerned he is in talks elsewhere.

He improved last season and for me, he potentially has the highest ceiling in terms of playing to a much higher standard on a regular basis. For me, we absolutely need this player available for ourselves all season. I think he could go for significant money at the end offhis season, but could be a crucial element in our 'so called' engine room, this season ahead.

Hoping this non appearance on tour is indeed actually just because of injuries.

Was he in France though - anyone see him there ??

Madsen rather than Varane was supposed to join up in France? Madsen was definitely there anyway and will apparently play some part v Cardiff on Wed.

On Varane, I would love us to get another year out of him and if not, I hope the recruitment lot have got another one lined up where he came from

He’s injured and getting better medical support at Heston, that’s the only way to read it. He has literally just signed a new contract so we hold all the cards. He didn’t have to sign a new
contract after being here just one season, shows intent on his behalf. Hopefully we will see a few minutes in the
next seven days.
