Carabao Cup Winners thread - victim one - Plymouth Argyle 16:46 - Aug 12 with 40489 views | numptydumpty | Clearly this is our year.... Well likely half the team that won the Premier League Cup will be involved here, so the cup pedigree is there !!! Probably as Plymouth also stated they likely to field a second team, this could be seen as no more than a preseason friendly... I have no idea as to the result, performance or team, but am not too hopeful. Saying that Plymouth have lost almost all their top players, but its a cup game Random from me. Plymouth 2 QPR 2 We progress 3- 1 on penalties (Chloe Kelly strikes the winner)

Carabao Cup Winners thread - victim one - Plymouth Argyle on 21:25 - Aug 12 by Wegerles_Stairs | Bloody disgraceful really. Why play a team of youngsters and lose? Arrogance from the CEO and his minions. Big game on Saturday now. |
OMG, the bed wetters are going to be out in force after losing this.

It's disrespectful to play an entire team of youngsters. I just don't understand the logic. We lose to a crappy League One side and what do we gain? No cup run, no extra income, a defeat in his second game with pressure on Saturday. It just makes no sense. Pure arrogance.

Calling Saturday a massive game because our u23s have lost to a league one team is bed soaking behaviour. Look at the injury list. But we should have kept playing Burrell in this…

Not a bedwetter at all but I don't understand what we gain by doing this. It is complete arrogance. We're not Arsenal or Liverpool.
Carabao Cup Winners thread - victim one - Plymouth Argyle on 21:31 - Aug 12 with 1684 views | SAPilgrim | While it isn’t a factor in the result here, another weak as piss referee who’s not keen to make a single decision he might face opposition to or let a game develop. Early as the first 10 minutes he was blowing for a misplaced throw in by about three yards.

It's clearly not arrogance. We have a huge amount of injuries for whatever reason - if we created more tonight then where would that leave us on Saturday. Same reason we took Burrell off, so he'd be available to play on Saturday. It's the same argument every year.

Exactly. We have a wafer thin squad unlike Arsenal and Liverpool so we need to manage the first team squad carefully. We didn't deserve to be 2-0 up tbf.

Carabao Cup Winners thread - victim one - Plymouth Argyle on 21:33 - Aug 12 with 1447 views | BostonR | Let’s give the U23’s some massive credit here. Plymouth have literally thrown the kitchen sink at this and have most of their first team squad around and after 80 mins they have nicked it 3-2. For many of the lads on the pitch this is their first experience of men’s professional football. Great experience for them.

No it's not. Again, people completely missing the point of tonight. Get the youngsters in, get them playing so they can push onto the 1st team. These players will have more in these 90 minutes than an entire season of development football. It's not difficult.
