The people have demanded and I have risen like a great big festering plague.

2 - 1 QPR

Jimmy gers his head together and heads it in.
Field taps one in.

Mate, just enjoy the result. Stephan gets his first win. Saito scored a great goal in his first match back with us and was the MotM for me. Kone scores again for the 2nd game on the trot and looks the real deal 🙏🏻. Nathan Jones had a meltdown (again). Kelman is shit. Ground was bouncing and happy faces everywhere in stark contrast to last Saturday. Enjoy it lad FFS. COYRs!!!!

Of course, hugely enjoyed the result, but after the first 20 minutes, not the performance,

So thinking purpose of this and any football forum is to discuss these things,

Why did we lose control of the game against a newly promoted League 1 side, who were a very poor side imo,

My take was we again played a 2 man Midfield with a player who lacks any zip over 5 yards or 15 yards,

Field & Hadyn are ideal in the 2, Varane maybe in front, but my take on yesterday...

If we continue with Madsen in the team we will struggle and we need to keep picking up points as this League may be a lot stronger than in recent years and we'll do well to turn things around at the end of the season as previous year's.

Love the optimism but think reality is 1-3…hope I am wrong and we beat them..

Very glad to be wrong well played rangers not perfect but massive improvement…but for there goalie who made a couple of good saves could have 2 more. We did fade end of the first half and beginning of second. Difficult to judge from G block but looked like Walsh got his feet wrong for their goal…his kicking still needs improvement and has habit of dropping the ball rather than a clean catch which on another day we could have been punished. Koki coming on really changed the game what an impact winning free kicks so much energy and brilliant taken goal…big up Kone too looks like he could score a few. An enjoyable game well done Rs.

This. Great post.

Not a perfect performance by any stretch, BUT we competed with and actually beat another Championship side.

A win's a win.

We won a London derby too….

Scooters, Tunes, Trainers and QPR.

I thought the pattern of the game yesterday as was again more about our physical conditioning.
Another strong start and goal, like Preston.
Another fade after half time and equaliser, like Preston.
But a proper centre forward able to do 90 minutes up front and some good legs and impact from the bench this time in Burrell and Saito, and so a win.

Esquerdinha the only development squad player in the matchday squad.

The likes of Bennie and Dillon will find opportunities limited this year, I would guess. The others hardly a look-in. Which makes me believe you can already take a bet on all of them playing in the FA Cup game.

Not a bad thing, I think we have enough young players in the squad who needs to develop and take us to the next level or be sold on for handsome profits.

You could be right and it could be our conditioning, but I thought we faded after 20 minutes, so it could be a combination of factors,

I get we are bedding in new players with a new Manager but the big stand-out for me was how few players were really showing for the ball, which again Burrell & Saito did when they came on and it made a huge difference,

Kone's finish for his goal and clever dummy for Smyth's were huge positive's, and once we build our attacking play around him we should be a much better team.

Agree with that, but we also lost control of the football ((c) Warbs) after about twenty minutes.

How often over the last 2-3 years have we bemoaned the lack of squad depth. The substitutes won that game, and that’s wholly positive. In previous years we were too often reliant on a good 12/13 players and then hoping (see the oft discussed worst collection of strikers in the league line).

It’s not just a conditioning point imo, it’s having players on the bench good enough to influence the game.

Credit where it's due, Stephan promised that our game would improve against Charlton, after the debacle at Coventry, and it did.
Could hardly have got worse, though, could it?
As for my man Koki Saito, he's pure quality. Worth every penny of what we paid for him.
And Richard Kone, what can I say, except that he's another Les Ferdinand in the making? Superb goal, and Burrell's part in it cannot be understated.
All, in all, a good day at the office, but we mustn't rest on our laurels, still room for improvement, if we are to earn the respect of our rivals for more than 10 seconds.

I think the drop off was psychological. We were good and aggressive to start, trying to right the wrongs and overcome the embarrassment of last week. Even some cocky flicks. But once we scored,
the fact they had something to lose seemed to weigh on them. There was a bit of fear, and a tendancy to passivity and sitting back in the (incorrect) belief that would help protect what they had.

That's where the fans can play their part. You only had to see the joy on the players faces gathered in the corner of the Loft and Ellerslie to see how the fans matter to them. Varane LOVES joining in with Hi Ho Silver Lining.

Great result .

10 things that I was really impressed with.

1) Walsh's long throw-out that directly set up the counter attack for the first goal was absolutely fantastic. More of this direct approach please.

2) Kolii's defending and tracking back I thought were excellent. IMHO hia all-round game is really improving.

3) Saito's skill. I was on the fence about his return., but that mazy run and cool finish was sublime. I think he took on 4 players and beat them all.

4) Madsen defining his role within this team. IMHO part of the problem with Madsen in the past is where to play him. He's not got the pace or stamina to get up and down the pitch effectively. But as a defensive midfielder who can .play out from the back I think is his where he belongs for us.

5) Team spirit and togetherness. What a great way to bounce back from the Coventry catastrophe. Despite last season's lop-sided squad our team was a ikeable group that the fans could get behind. IMHO this has continued into this season.

6) Kone is class!

7) M & M at the back is our best CB pairing..

8) Can't wait to see Burrell score. His effort deserves a goal.

9) Smyth on the scoresheet. Last season the biggest flaw in his game was his lack of goals and assists for the amount of time he was on the pitch. Well, he's off to a flyer in changing that. Hope he stays and signs a new contract.

10) Strength in depth. I think most would agree that over the last few seasons QPR could put out a decent first 11 if all fit, but scratch below that and we were struggling. IMHO thanks to the Eze money we've been able make this transfer window far more successful than last years..

C'mon you Rs!

Enjoyed that win, of course.
But, did anyone else share my concern at the number of free-kicks that we seemed to be giving away in dangerous positions around our box? A better team than Charlton would have made more of those.

Haha. Hopefully not!

Just wondering why there's so much hate on your MB for Campbell?.He was a handful for our RB which stopped him coming forward, got an assist and could have got another one for the shot that scraped the bar. And only young but got pelters.

Thought same about TC. Thought he was a handful: fast and powerful.
Also, those are not flats on top of the stadium, it’s all part of QPR

From my point of view, he has been a bit wasteful the last few games, and the subs who came off looked more dangerous, but it is interesting QPR fans seem to think he was our biggest threat when most people I spoke with wanted him off. I really like him, just think Leaburn should have stayed on who was starting to win headers
