Got to mention Burrell. I like him a lot and his pace and energy caused their defence a lot of problems when he came on. And if he doesn’t get credited for an assist for Kobe’s goal then there is no justice. Just watch him nick the ball past the two Charlton defenders for Kone to run onto. Great touch.
Glad for the win but there is a still a lot to do. Far from convinced by Verane’s performances over the last two games, seems at times he hasn’t got a brain. Dembele should look at himself. Lazy, half-hearted unless he has a clear run with the ball and I think it was shameful that when he was substituted he just trudged off, for Christ sake, we are drawing at home against a poor side and getting overrun and he just trudges off!
And if anyone doubted the wisdom of signing Saito. That lad turned the game completely. Competed, put his foot in where it hurt, drew fouls, had one great shot saved and scored what in reality was the winner. If all our players had the same attitude as him we would walk this league. | |

Keeper needs dropping before one of our defenders murders him.
Midfield today would be too lightweight for the better sides in this division. I still think Madsen isn't good enough, but will admit he played better today.
Would love to know why Dembele seemingly can't get fit.
Kelman is looking like the one season wonder the club clesrly thought he was. Rare bit of brilliant business to get 5 million for him and replace him with a superior player.

Absolutely!
On paper we have a very good team. Yet on the pitch , on the whole, they underperform.
I thought Dembele was very poor today. I cant see him being a 'starter'. He's far too lightweight in all aspects.
Dunne looked like he was knackered at half time.
Defence was very sloppy at times. Menbengue lucky to still be on the pitch. Brain fades! Walsh totally at fault for their goal.
Impressed by Smyth, Kone, Saito and especially Norrington -Davis.
Pleased that on the whole we have abandoned the 100% playing out from the back. the few times we tried we gave them the ball in very dangerous positions. We luckily got away with those mistakes.
Charlton infinitely a poorer team than Coventry
We will need a better performance than today to get anything at Wrexham.
But, it was an improvement. They must use the next 2 weeks to gte the fitness levels up.

Absolutely buzzing after that. Was it the perfect performance? No. But we showed battle and some mental and physical strength to go and get a win today.
Also excellent performances from the new boys, really looked a lot better today. Would like to see Smyth get a long-term deal given that he really brings something as a squad player. Not every player needs to be a development job.
