Refwatch - Rochdale v Solihull Moors on 19:27 - Sep 22 with 5675 views | Daley_Lama | Tough game, no Mani involved. Seem to have found a way to play away and get results - York win, Boston win, Carlisle draw (when winning) yet seem to stink at home. Probably down to away tactics, the good old low block/hit on break working for them but more expansive formation or tactics at home not delivering. One of ‘those’ games ahead. Not pretty to watch usually.

Refwatch - Rochdale v Solihull Moors on 20:06 - Sep 22 with 5604 views | EllDale | Are they enjoying the fabled “new manager bounce?” A few weeks ago they were struggling. They got two red cards on Saturday though which could balance the absence of Mani. The thing Dale need to do is to take first half chances. Make them come out and play. [Post edited 22 Sep 20:07]

I am sure everyone will be looking forward to the game tonight following the general disappointment and frustration of the inevitable postponement on Saturday of what is fast becoming known as the 'Crown Oil Swamp'. Great weather over the past few days has meant that the pitch should have returned to the standard we expect which hopefully will allow us to perform at our best. Following a change of manager Moors have become more resilient away from home and are unlikely to be set up to play an open expansive game. If as against York they opt to sit back, soak up the pressure (in their goalkeeper Walker I think they have one of the best shot stoppers in the league) and play on the break, its vital we hit the road running and as importantly make the most of our chances when they arise. Our run of form certainly makes us favourites, although it could be argued we could have put away more of the opportunities we have made when on top in previous games. It would risky to be profligate today, so come on Dale, even without Mani, lets be ruthless and make it five in a row and prove to the league we are serious contenders. Even bigger challenges await around the corner lets face those in form.

Looking at their team and consulting TVOS Solihull look to be starting with three strikers which could mean a more aggressive mindset than anticipated?

Last time they did that it was a 4-4 scoreline with Morecambe. UTD | | | | Login to get fewer ads
Refwatch - Rochdale v Solihull Moors on 20:29 - Sep 23 with 4353 views | dawlishdale | We started like a train tonight and have looked a class above Solihull. 3-0 so far just coming up to half time and could have been more.
Refwatch - Rochdale v Solihull Moors on 20:37 - Sep 23 with 4287 views | EllDale | Quite imperious at times. It’s a long time since East and Gilmour were given this sort of freedom. Could have been 1-0 in the first minute and five by halftime. A pleasure to watch.

Still a very professional performance. Once again the opposition were outclassed and literally had to throw care to the wind. We handled the pressure when it came. Only criticism for me was the timing of the Alakariah substitution which was far too late. He was clearly struggling to contain his opponent and being targeted. Berkoe should have been on at least 15 minutes before their goal.
Refwatch - Rochdale v Solihull Moors on 22:17 - Sep 23 with 3632 views | 442Dale | That game was won by tactically acumen within the first 20 minutes. Utilising East so far forwards and almost leaving Gilmour on his own in the centre of the park left Solihull chasing shadows and we really could have been 5 up by the time we got the third. It might have come way to late to get anything from the game, but it forced their manager to change their formation before they kicked off again and it allowed them to at least sit in and absorb the pressure better. Thought they were quite effective on the counter at times too, they’ll get points against the top teams this season, as seen on Saturday. A comprehensive, professional, ruthless win. Only negative was the needless Gordon yellow for getting involved unnecessarily. He’s done that before and need to cut it out.

Refwatch - Rochdale v Solihull Moors on 22:41 - Sep 23 with 3404 views | jonahwhereru | That performance left a warm glow. The press was great and Solihull literally struggled to get out. I would have had my mortgage on Rodney to score in the first minute and thought we might regret that chance, but we were always in control. Amantchi passed the test very well and led the line far better than Mitchell ever could, without being Mani D. A reassuring position of not being fearful if Mani is unable to start, scoring 4 without him is a strong statement. Not easy to nominate a man of the match, but Beckwith just nudged out East for me. Although the team as a whole were the real winners. Could it be that McNulty knows more about this management business than we thought? Or at least is learning fast. Strange this league, these beat York on Saturday who in turn hammered Carlisle tonight. UTD

The two major differences from last season: better quality squad and supported in the dugout by Taylor/Done It's to his credit that he's brought this team together, both on and off the pitch

Refwatch - Rochdale v Solihull Moors on 22:51 - Sep 23 with 3273 views | TalkingSutty | Excellent performance tonight, played some lovely football and the third goal was a thing of beauty. Amantchi will be frustrated that he didn't score but he put a proper shift in and the ball wouldn't just sit for him in front of goal, he played a great ball through for Rodney in the first minute that should have resulted in a goal. We started the game quick and it seemed that the emphasis was on getting a early goal, we got three. I actually thought that the attitude of the Solihull players was excellent, they never chucked the towel in and had some very good individual players, especially their number 21. Let's take the game to Carlise on Saturday and play our football, we're in good form and should fear nobody now.

Their keeper made a number of great saves to keep the score respectable. Great use of the bench tonight, given the next 3 games to.come. [Post edited 23 Sep 22:59]

I was just coming on to mention their 21. I was very glad when he went off, he had an excellent game. One to keep an eye on as he could be a good long term replacement for TAR. Great game tonight. Though Amantchi did well and I’m sure the goals will come. The tactical shift in moving East further forward worked wonders and he got a deserved MoM.
Refwatch - Rochdale v Solihull Moors on 23:34 - Sep 23 with 2866 views | dingdangblue | It was almost a perfect night - apart from Solihull scoring. To score 4 and beat a Solihull side with 7 points from their last 3 games without Mani D was more than any of us could have hoped for. Game over after 50 mins and chance to rotate the squad. It felt quite like our promotion Season in 09/10 at times - we had quite a few home games that season that were over early in the game and the game just needed seeing out. 7 out of 7 home wins in all comps. Let's go to Carlisle full of confidence and take the game to them and make a proper statement.
