I love Bircham but in this respect he can bugger off. This sort of celebration shows that the current bunch of players are just as invested in a win as we are and long may it continue.

We've gone from staring deep into the abyss of self destruction to debating the level of what constitutes an acceptable level of post-victory frivolity. And we've done it in 23 days!
What a club!
FFS, the answer is staring people in the effing face: We are QPR! Enjoy it; for as sure as we've all got south pointing a-holes, the 'Ls' will eventually return.

I think someone might need a little word with Mbengue though... He grabbed the corner flag during the goal celebrations and I've seen other refs book players for these shenanigans.
He's very much in the M'bia mould for me, strong on emotion and theatrics. Maybe like Warnock, if it was the other team I wouldn't like it, but for us, its OK.
hes an intresrting one decent player , red card coming anytime soon. loves to be centre of it all as well and becuase of that the fans have jumped on the hes the most amazing CB ever becauses he a bit of a lad hes funny , would they have been saying the same thing if he had of got the red for that challenge ? and it cost us 3 points ?

Even last season you could see just how much Varane & Nardi enjoy joining in with Hi Ho Silver Lining. I might be in the three score and ten camp these days but this is just the sort of thing that will encourage the next generations of fans and I am more than happy to join in celebrating a win. If you can't enjoy something like that you have to question what DOES make you happy. MB got this one wrong but, as said, he might not have been in the right frame of mind when he posted.
If we were celebrating by burning the opposition's jock straps in the centre circle then fair enough. Otherwise, can't we just enjoy the one or two nice things we get from time to time? We have about as much fun as a toddler at an insurance conference, year after soul-crushing year. Let us have this, Birch.

Let the boys celebrate as they want.....they deserve it, they worked hard for it against a tidyish team, 3 winning games on the trot, they are excited. Great for the fans, players & club.

Yes it's building on the collective spirit. I'm happy that it is just the players and that Julien, as Marti was before him, is content to just applaud the fans.

Doing some work in Berlin over the weekend, and managed to find a bar showing Sky, with a Shedload (German:scheisseloade) of Liverpool 'Fans' watching.their game on multiple screens. A tiny screen in the corner.showed the QPR game, in front of which were no fewer than 4 guys, who naturally immediately welcomed me in and shared the next round.
When Liverpool scored, there were a few whoops from the assembled multitude.
But, when Vale scored that thing of beauty, five guys shouted a 'yeah' loud enough to get them all looking and wondering who are these nutters.
But here's the thing. As our madman was dancing around at the end, we did too, and it put such a smile on everyone's face that they're probably still talking about it.
Love him.

Yes it’s over the top I loved it ..players and fans celebrating together…leaving the ground with a smile on a high is great. Also thought the last 2 Saturday early Kick offs the atmosphere has been good a big improvement from last few seasons when it’s been a bit dead. I am enjoying the wins while they last …

Mbengue taking the flag was funny… and did you see Jimmy ever so calmly taking the flag off him, like a primary schoolteacher with a naughty boy and giving it back to the ball boy! The captain’s job spec is very broad!!
Interesting, I feel Jimmy is having an increasing influence on our attitude on the field. As has been pointed out, we're not allowing other teams to bully us, there's a little bit more shithousery going on when it suits us, and apparently a little bit more verbal been given out.
I don't mind a bit more mental around the place at all, as long as it's with some control. If that makes sense. It seemed to me a very similar vibe amongst the fans too., I said elsewhere it was the best atmosphere I can remember for a 12.30 ko in a good while.

I pretty much had to force my eight year old son to come on Saturday as his record at Loftus Rd was P5 L5. I spent a fortune on sweets and bribes all day.
At the last defeat he literally sat on the verge of tears on the steps out of the ground and shouted "why do we ALWAYS lose?" to much head-ruffling and "one of us now son" from all around
He came down for school this morning humming Hi Ho Silver Lining and looking forward to telling his mates - he loved all the celebrations and that's what most important not some grumpy old men.

Mbengue is gonna get himself sent off at which point it becomes a bit less funny. Four bookings already so one more for a ban.
Very much this. Had he have been sent off in either of the last two home games, which should have happened, he would not be viewed in such a favourable light.
Unhinged is the word you used to describe him in your match report and its very apt.
The league this season looks like it's going to be wide open. We now have a competitive team, decent bench and still have some key players to return. Calm heads on the field and playing with a full complement will go a long way in our aim to finish as high up the table as possible.

Well I do always say if you're playing for QPR there's something wrong with you. If there wasn't, you'd be playing for someone else.
Mbengue is quick, athletic, good on the ball, aggressive. What's his issue? He's a 64 carat mentalist.

Brave guy giving a QPR opinion other than Everything Is Wonderful on Twitter.
I see what he means to a certain extent, and the team he was part of went unbeaten at home in the league for an entire season so he's well qualified. But I don't remember Birch being particularly reserved in his celebrations, and QPR have been so bad for so long I don't see a problem in trying to bring a bit of joy back into our footballing lives. The 'celebration police' trend seems a bit joyless to me. Let people enjoy themselves, life is tough atm.
I think he said in one of his replies he was probably a bit down because he'd received some news about a bereavement. Twitter is really bad for that sort of thing. You put a throwaway comment out there while you're upset, have stuff going on, had a few drinks, whatever it may be, and people seize upon it.
X not being a place with a semblance of balance or rationality? Never.
Got off it just over a year ago. Best decision I’ve ever made, and saw me transition over here instead!
