Pros and cons though. If Blackburn v Ipswich was a season-defining game in April and the ball is getting stuck on the pitch at 65 minutes you’ve got a bench desperate for it to be called off and another desperate for it not to be until 75 minutes at which point the roles reverse. Lot of pressure on the ref. Pressure on the ground staff even to do (or not do) what they can at half time etc.
Not saying there’s a good solution but having a fixed rule comes with its own difficulties. This postponement was weather out of either team’s control but what if it’s floodlight failure or a pitch invasion or an incident of racism. As soon as there is a rule there’s an opportunity to bend it which some individuals/teams inevitably will. |
I would say this rule would only apply to weather or flood lights. In the case of racism, it wouldn't apply. That would be open to abuse.
The ref would decide when the game became unplayable. |  |

This. A rule like if a game is abandoned after 75 mins the result stays the same. If before its a replay. Let the teams in the league vote on it. |
I'm sure the Sunday League I played in with ASB, the rule was if a match was abandoned after 70 minutes the result stood.
We had a top of the table match which we were losing, there was a huge storm on the hour mark and the game got abandoned. We replayed it and won 3-0 (and went on to win the league)  |  |

If you stop people hearing what you don't want them to you control the narrative. Of course if that gets out, you have to stop those people too. And then the ones that report on them. And then you're North Korea. Ultimately the truth always outs in the end, but there's this weird sense that super rich people have that they can somehow outrun it. Good result for us tonight with the draw between West Brom and Leicester. Means we can go above both with a win tomorrow.
Plus with a Bristol vs Preston draw and the same between Coventry and Birmingham and assuming Millwall don't beat Swansea by 1 goal or more than we beat Sheff Wed, then we could finish the day in 2nd.
