And that really average Charlton team we beat could go third tonight if current scores stay the same. Anyone could make the playoffs or even autos this year.

And our 1-3 against Wrexham look an even better result. Leicester booed off at home.

Not a single home team winning with only a few minutes to go, this league could be anyone’s.

Six draws from eight games unless there’s another goal at Derby.

Cifuentes’ honeymoon period looks like it’s over already: 10 goals in 8 matches and we will go ahead of them if we win tomorrow.

That was the third game already this season that Brum scored in stoppage time to gain bonus points. Might not be that good but they don't give up.

If we win tomorrow evening we go into the top six. Traditionally this is the cue to not win but let's see if this team is made of stronger stuff?

Never knowingly right.

Level on points maybe, and only if Coventry don't win.

All the same a great chance to really move up the table (said with the bitter sarcastic laugh of experience).

Actually, we need Coventry to lose tomorrow to keep them on 13 points, so with a win we go above them on 14 points and into 3rd place. However, that win would have to be by a better goal difference than Millwall's required win, as they play Coventry and, currently have the same points and GD as us. So, basically, we need to beat their win.

Also, you forgot about West Brom which is understandable. They currently have the same points as us but a better GD by 3. So, whilst a draw or loss is preferable for us to cement our place in 3rd, if they do win (against lowly Norwich) then we would need to beat their result by a 3 goal difference or more because with a better win by 3 goals will mean we have the same goal difference as them, but we will have scored more goals, so will be above them, sitting pretty in 3rd.

And the same actually applies, in principle, with our chances of finishing the day in 2nd. We'd just need to win with a +7 GD, at the very least, as that would take us to the same +5 GD as Sjoke, but we'll have scored more goals.

Also, worth noting that if we were to win by scoring 7 goals we would also end the day as the Championships joint top goal scorers and with 8 or more we would be in first place for goals scored. Don't think us being highest scorers in the Championship is in the Glossary?!

Apologies if a Spackman.

I mean sure, technically. Quite a big "If" that one though!

Interestingly for anyone worried that AI is about to take your job it still has a way to go. Google's "AI overview" informed me that the last time we scored 7 goals was May 2020 against Brentford where we scored all the goals in the last 25 minutes. Of course, that was actually 80 years earlier and the article was just published in May 2020, but still counts right?

Right - said Fred!

I’ll be just happy if we encroach the top six ‘patch’ in this league.
We have the opportunity, do this team and this manager have the couilles to get the job done?
I think they just might!

Yeah we've all seen this film before.

Championship currently is even more all over the place than it usually is. Very unusual to have all the relegated Prem teams in the bottom half of the table.

Coming from a split family, last night I carried out a scouting mission on Bristol City.

In the first half Ipswich made the mistake of having most of the pocession, which led to Bristol strolling through them at the back. Thankfully, we're not likely to follow that route & we can certainly cause their defence problems as they have less pace than us. The right back, in particular, looked like a suicidal moment away from losing them the game. Not that Furlong was much better for Ipswich!

For possibly the first time, I would say that Armsrtrong looked as if he might be a footballer after he came on as a sub. I wasn't surprised that he made runs behind the Ipswich defence or that the passes he received were good, but Sinclair kept the ball under control & picked out the right pass. Even the save from his one on one with the 'keeper was due to good goalkeeping rather than a miss.

Saturday will definitely be a game where we need less than 40% of the ball & break quickly from defence.
