He has arrived. The player we hoped we were getting. Absolute monster tonight.

Never knowingly right.

He was brilliant. Sam Field was pretty decent as well . Never get the criticism of the guy .
Proud to have him at our club.

On Saturday Millwall made life difficult for him really blocked space and wouldn't let him pass forward but he never stopped trying despite struggling.

Tonight he had a bit more space and made it count, really good sign that he has bounced back from a disapointing game to perform like that

Wish I could up vote that twice there Paddy... both for Madsen who totally ran that midfield... and for Field

Field never put a foot wrong tonight... and is a fantastic servant for this club...

It was wrong, very wrong how he was 'abused' both on this MB & at the ground.......he was never as bad as many thought. Many would have thrown him out if they had their way, thankfully this Manager can see just how good he is.

Madsen easily our player of the season so far and long may that continue. Turning into the all round centre midfielder I didn't know existed, it's like he's eaten Kevin de Bruyne and Declan Rice and absorbed their collective capabilities

He’s not helping my diet….. making me eat my words week after week after week.

The technique and vision is there but he’s impressing me even more with his mobility, aggressiveness and demanding more of his teammates around him.
Do think he should’ve scored tonight but still the clear QPR man of the match (overall MoM for me was Timon who is a LB I would love us to sign; always rated him)

Poor second half but nice win with low possession again

Cherish and enjoy life.... this ain't no dress rehearsal

Agree, sometimes we just have to be a bit more patient, if you were around for the Furlong redemption arc or the Zamora one when you know there is quality there but for whatever reason they struggle when they join, then you know to give it a bit more than half a season. Confidence is such a factor in sport, he needed longer to adapt and the patience and belief shown by the club is paying off.

If he maintains this and improves further you can seeing moving into one of the top flight leagues.

I must admit I was one of many on here who thought he just wasn’t suited for the rigours of the Championship last season. Glad to say he has completely proved me wrong since August. Most impressive turnaround from an R’s player since Paul Furlong, who ended up being one of my favourite players to ever wear the hoops.

was he abused? I mean he was rubbish for most of last season and people just said what they saw, i don't remember him getting much stick at games other than the odd groan and moan when he did something wrong

I think it is more that have a very intelligent player who realised that at this level you have to put it about, dish it out and be smart and quick on the ball. He said in a pre-season interview that he didn't feel he had done himself justice and wanted to prove he was worthy of a place. I think he was perhaps overwhelmed last year by the physicality of it all and at 6 foot 4 has realised that you have to use that advantage on the pitch and trust yourself. 100% a totally different player now and the basic thing is that he has adapted to it all and believes in himself. Long may it continue.

Never knowingly right.

Several times tonight you saw Madsen getting stuck in, using his body to win possession or protect the ball. Like night and day compared to last season.

Congratulations to him and Francis in the club shop.

This is the great thing about his upward curve he’s becoming a ball winner and a distributor

Not many of those in the championship

This is the development that is so positive. None of us would have believed a stat like that just 2 months ago, let alone this time last year. The CM we’ve wanted for years.

He has improved, for sure, but he was not as bad as many suggested. It was 'proper' wrong what some were saying about him even earlier in the season.

I did not go to Watford but the abuse he got was well ooo. So, I watched it back, all 60 odd minutes that he played on video, he was never as bad as supporters, posters were saying, never in a million years but he is an easy target. I posted my opinions on his performance on this MB!!!

He was then our most 'gifted' footballer but he did not get the ball enough to show his skills.

Fair is Fair. He was very good tonight, and has been very good so far this season. He’s a completely different player this season though. He’s working so much harder and he’s now breaking up play and competing, as well as progressing us up the pitch with some good passing. And it’s showing in the stats. Compare the stats here to last year when he went 4 games without a tackle.

Fair play to him for bucking his ideas up. He’s now putting the yards and hard work in most people were (rightly) caning him for last season for not doing.

Long may his form continue.

As an aside, I thought he and Hayden were a better partnership than him and Varane today. Thought Varane was poor again today when he came on. Would run with Hayden for a bit now.

Maybe not abused but pretty sure it was you (and think you’re more one of the fair minded supporters), said“Madsen is sh*t, we should get rid” or similar after one of his average performances and this was during his first season in English football. So I do think it’s fair to say that he received a lack of backing from the fans.

Think the owner of this website said we should part ways with him after an average performance against Watford on his second game this season , even after putting in a decent performance first game. I’ve always backed him, though got to say not as big on him as some seem to be, but I definitely think he got a rough deal from the crowd and a lack of patience, with nobody believing this was a guy that given time, could adapt. Sign of the times I guess .

It’s Fields versatility. He can play anywhere. He covered at centre back before and was outstanding and as Norf said . He's got an eye for goal and should get more.

Madsen the Magnificent.

Fair play to the lad, its all gone his way after 'that' interview pre-season.

Bossed it tonight.

I keep hearing about the 5 mil we're getting in Jan for Varane. Can't see it myself.

It's being so happy that keeps me going.

I’ve said it before and I will say it again - better players than him have struggled in their first season coming into English football.

So pleased it’s happening for him (and us!)
