Eze 09:08 - Apr 16 with 148648 views | sdm1508 | I was just wondering what people's thoughts are on him since he moved to palace. Do you think he has improved as a player and if so what areas of his game have got better since he was with us or having better players around him helped? I mean having better players around him allows for more things to actually come off for him. He might have tried something with us and the players couldn't react etc I was watching him in a game the other night and it just seems to be his consistency. His base level now seems to be a notch or two up. He doesn't have to do something amazing to effect the game

I honestly believe now that Eze's transfer is dead... unless Liverpool sell Diaz and sneak in for Eze? OMG, i've done it again, I now am back believing he will be sold.

Yeah that's a bit different to what we've previously heard, 20% of the sale and now 15% of profit. If he goes for £60 million our pay out goes from £12 million to £6 million (roughly)
Eze on 16:03 - Jul 30 with 2597 views | CroydonCaptJack | I don't think they are right there. I imagine it would be like the Sterling one which I recall was % of sale price. I have never heard 15%. I always thought 20 or even 25% was the %.

Itās 20% of the sale price, Not profit. Reported Many times before. Which may be a stumbling block for Palace to sell below the Ā£68m clause. Apparently CN made a comment last night at the Fans Forum along the lines that we wouldnāt be spending the Eze money/windfall all at once and it would be spread out ! So not sure if heās ITK about a deal being in place for his sale, or if heās referring to any of the Ā£4m in add ons above the initial Ā£16m ? eg. Playing xxx games, playing/starting for England, winning a trophy, qualifying for Europe, etc. (Hopefully ALL of the above).

A percentage sell on fee on the profit of a sale was mentioned when Eze was sold 5 years ago, but the percentage has always been 20% as far as I know. We hope, of course, the 20% percentage is for the whole sale price. The fact is, we won't know until Eze is sold and, even then, will our secret squirrel CEO ever tell us anyway?

Even if the money received (or even some of it) were to be used on players, it wouldn't be very wise of us to say so.

Well the important thing is not to spend it in a mad dash for glory. I think it is sensible to invest in the squad gradually, over the three seasons that it would remain in FFP calculation.

This. Fill up the DS squad with it. Maybe fix the PA and wipe the birdshit off Loftus Rd too if there is any change left over.

Well to be fair, when you split it over 3 seasons, itās about 2m no? So not sure weād be able to splash it around. PA system sounds perfect for 1m and call it after Eze and get it sponsored.

Using it for the PA or the ground on general, would be a waste of the FFP allowance. 15 million or whatever our cut might be, if the sale goes through, spent wisely, should substantially improve our first team squad and our prospects of a push for a season of really big money, which would help to dig us out of '16th' place malaise that we are currently stuck it.

Any money spent on the stadium in terms of infrastructure (incl a PA, part of the fabric of the building) is a capital investment and allowed to be charged over its useful lifetime. That currently is a 10-50 year period. £1m, if it was that, would amount to £100k a year for 10 years, or £20k a year for 50 years. Small change for FFP expenditure levels.

Eze on 13:32 - Jul 31 with 1741 views | slmrstid | Not to go all boring accountant but I wouldn't expect a new PA system to hit the P&L all in one year, I'd expect it to be capitalised as Plant & Machinery and depreciated over whatever the club's accounting policy is for that, meaning only the depreciation would hit each year, not the entire outlay. They just don't want to expend the cash right now which is their prerogative.

I'm not disagreeing with anything you say on capital expenditure. However, I'll try another way to explain my understanding. If you use any money from a transfer deal for something outside the FFP budget, then that money doesn't increase your FFP budget. Therefore for first team spending you are not improving the current levels of funding for the three year period.
