Eze 09:08 - Apr 16 with 47497 viewssdm1508

I was just wondering what people's thoughts are on him since he moved to palace. Do you think he has improved as a player and if so what areas of his game have got better since he was with us or having better players around him helped? I mean having better players around him allows for more things to actually come off for him. He might have tried something with us and the players couldn't react etc

I was watching him in a game the other night and it just seems to be his consistency. His base level now seems to be a notch or two up. He doesn't have to do something amazing to effect the game

I think that he wants to stay in London & if that means staying at Palace, then that is what he will do.

His family, church & being comfortable in life appear to be very important to him.

They have Gods in norf London. Lot's of them I hear!

The worse case scenario, he leaves. It doesn't work out. So he returns and his father will kill a fattened cow to welcome him back and his brothers eventually come round to the idea of his returning.

I think it's the £68 million for a 27 year old with a handful of international caps.

It's too much

And yet they paid £65m for Kai Havertz!

Just imagine Eze and Saka combining with Gykores a bit like Eze, Olise and Mateta.

Still, if Arsenal and Spurs don't sign him , we can hope that Eze might end up at Bayern Munich as a replacement for Musiala. I think he would stand out there if they took a chance on teaming him up with Olise and Kane.

He could also go to Liverpool.

Sadly, they will need to replace Diogo Jota, and as harsh as it is, they will need a replacement.

Forgetting the QPR connection you are Head of Recruitment at a football club.

Eze, just turned 27, for £68 million or Grealish, 30 in September I think, for 40 million?

Neither would be first choice at those prices and ages - and that money unless its shelled out from Saudi and then you are basically saying I am going there for semi retirement!!

Eze has a choice. He can stay at Palace.

Grealish won't play if he doesn't sign elsewhere.

This is most disappointing.

I was concerned about what we would get... AI had this to say:

"In a player swap, the sell-on fee's application becomes complex because there isn't a clear transfer fee to calculate a percentage from. The clubs involved must negotiate a value for the player moving with the sell-on clause, and that value will be the basis for calculating the fee owed to the original selling club"

So it looks like we would get something?...

As everyone seems to be aware that there is a release clause of maybe £68M then the sell-on fee would be based on that as a minimum, wouldn’t it?

I don’t know the figures, but let’s say it involves a transfer fee of £500k.

Luongo had a 20% sell on fee owed to Tottenham by Swindon.

We wanted both players but essentially we paid £490k for Gladwin and £10k for Luongo to stiff Spurs and get Swindon a decent value, when in fact the value was the other way round.

We probably didn’t even want Gladwin.

I think it was a chunky 50% sell on clause, and the combined sale was like 4 million or something so a decent wedge saved for Swindon.

Cheers for the info. Hopefully the powers that be have tightened up on this. Surely if Eze has a £68m release clause, that is his value, whether it's cash, players or Green Shield Stamps (any mystery about my age has now evaporated)?

And Arsenal aren't buying 2 players from Palace are they, they're buying one but paying part cash part replacement.

I've been looking forward to our windfall for 2 years now - would be a bit of a gut punch to lose a chunk of it for a £40m Arsenal academy reject😂

Just because there is a release clause in the contract doesn't mean that is what he is going to be sold for. If Eze wants to go and CP do not want to sell him then any club wanting to buy him would have to meet the release clause but, if CP want to cash in on the player then they could accept a lower fee.

With Spurs spending £55 million on Kudus and Frank apparently keen on getting Wissa I would think that the chances of him going to Tottenham are now pretty remote so that probably just leaves Arsenal in the UK.
Although if Bayern are aware of him I think he’d be the perfect replacement for Musiala, who looks like being out for a long time.

The BBC site saying the Gooners have agreed terms with Medueke and its at the stage of agreeing a fee with Chelsea, who purportedly want £50m.
