Eze 09:08 - Apr 16 with 161127 viewssdm1508

I was just wondering what people's thoughts are on him since he moved to palace. Do you think he has improved as a player and if so what areas of his game have got better since he was with us or having better players around him helped? I mean having better players around him allows for more things to actually come off for him. He might have tried something with us and the players couldn't react etc

I was watching him in a game the other night and it just seems to be his consistency. His base level now seems to be a notch or two up. He doesn't have to do something amazing to effect the game

If he's an Arsenal fan, surely there is no way he signs for Spurs?

Release clause expires today. Let's see how that changes things...

I still can't see how that changes anything.

No one wants to pay the release clause figure otherwise they would have done by now. Palace could have sold at any time for less if there was an offer they wanted to accept. The latter is still the case.

I think the issue with the release clause is that it included a minimum initial payment as part of the overall fee, rumoured to be around £30m or so. From what I understand that was the negotiation/sticking point up to now.

Of course it may well make no difference at all, as you say.

Bid from Spurs imminent

55m plus add ons

Which would give us 5-6m

Hopefully Palace hold out for much more than that.

Would it not give us £11Million if we have 20%?

Depends on what the sell-on actually is. 15% or 20%, full fee or profit. Safe to say we'd get anywhere between approx. £6-11m if it was £55m, but I suspect Palace will want more particularly considering our sell-on as they wouldn't have much money or time left to find a replacement..

Depends who you believe but I've read that (worst case) is 15% of profit

The sell on clause when Eze went from us to Palace was reported to be 20%. So that being the case, if it's a £55m sale to Spurs we get £11m.

Was always widely accepted to be to be 20% until a few of the doom merchants turned up.

20% of any profit realised on what Palace paid initially to sign him from us: circa £20m. If £55m is paid by Spurs, we'll get circa £7m.

Has anyone actually seen this release clause in full?

That's a rhetorical question. We don't really know and never will because if and when Eze is sold the club won't be telling us what it received never mind how it was calculated.

Nope, we got the same deal as we got with Sterling, % whether it’s 15 or 20 who knows! of the whole fee not the profit.

Think we should just invest it in an ISA and keep it tax free and away from Rachel from accounts.

Most clauses are profit, not full sale.

Sterling was profit, it’s just his fee was so low (circa 1m), and sold for 50m, we banked nearly 10m, based on the profit. (20% of 49m is nearly 10m which is what we received as sell on)

I wouldn't worry about that. As a loss making enterprise, tax is the least of QPR's problems.

Lots of chat about him not being in the match squad tomorrow. Usually a good indicator.

Right place for him to further his career, and put himself, more in the shop window for his international exploits.

Get it done, please Mr Levy and then we can spend some of our extra pocket money !!!

Was released with an ankle tag and told to report every week to see the PO until his annual points total reduces.

From the fans forum sounds like any money from Eze goes against loss the owners are covering each month..sounds unlikely any of it going towards new signings.

Eze on 08:21 - Aug 17 with 1309 viewsHoopstar

Some of it will go towards offsetting costs am sure but Nourry is hardly going to state in a public forum that we are going to invest our windfall in new players - immediately adding a million and a few grand a week to clubs and agents thinking processes when we come calling.

If we can invest in an LB and extra CM I will be pleased - especially as we have spent big money for us on Burrell and Kone this summer. Really like the look of Esquardinha so happy enough with a LB loan so we can keep developing him.

Pragmatically, yes. I think they've probably spent the Eze money upfront, anyway.
Ideally, I'd like to see cover at lb and cm, but get that this is a year of building.
It's more important to me that we don't blow our ffp position apart.
