I was just wondering what people's thoughts are on him since he moved to palace. Do you think he has improved as a player and if so what areas of his game have got better since he was with us or having better players around him helped? I mean having better players around him allows for more things to actually come off for him. He might have tried something with us and the players couldn't react etc
I was watching him in a game the other night and it just seems to be his consistency. His base level now seems to be a notch or two up. He doesn't have to do something amazing to effect the game
whether it's 5 million or 10 million it's a big bonus for us I wouldn't spend a penny of it on new players, we've already spent over 7 million this window, get our losses down with this money
Agree with this. Plus, if people are being honest, we don't have any real evidence yet that the people currently in charge of recruitment would spend this extra money wisely.

No, none at all. Apart from Varane, Nardi, Morrison, Dembele, Mbengue, Poku, Burrell, Esquerdinha, Kone...
Okay, you added the final clause: yet. Even so, this seems like a view loaded with bias to me.

Varane, sure, Nardi is debatable. But what have the others done yet? Seriously, what have they done to prove they're good signings? Potential, sure, but nothing beyond that.

You can add Kieran Morgan to that list also.
So loads of half decent signings that could improve also.
IN Kone £2.75m rising to £5m Burrell £1m Poku £900k + add-ons Adamson £300k Mbengue free
Call it £5m but who knows how the Dembele deal was structured, could also be included in this year's outgoings.
OUT Kelman £3.5m rising to £5m Perhaps we were able to get small fees for Lloyd and Coopers loans out as well.

Burrell was read £1.3m, which is why they sold him to us and not Plymouth. Poku was I read £1.25m which is why we got him ahead of Grangers who bid less.
I think the rest is what you have written from what I have read elsewhere.
I also read that our Eze 20% is on the sale price, not the profit, as I read that was unusual as usually it's the profit, and we played a blinder with it. If that is the case, it would explain why Palace are so aggressive on the full amount, as they will only be getting 80% of that to find a replacement.

So that's £5.4m, which would be disappointing given previous speculation.
Sky Sports said last week that Cov got close to £3M from the Gyokeres sell-on so whateever we finally get from the Eze saga, I think our board will have done brilliantly.

Coventry sold some of their sell on clause a year ago for about 2 million. Their sell on for that player has been about 5 million minus Brighton share.
From reading previous articles on our sale to Palace in 2020 and what a previous contributor on this thread said about a 20% sell on clause, based on sale profit. So if as being reported the potential sale to Spurs is £55m plus add ons possibly up to £60m. We sold Eze for £19.5m including add ons, which we assume were all met, so the 20% if applied to £55m will be against £35.5m profit or £40.5m if it is against the £60m with add ons.
Are individual transfer fees received entered into accounts as single transactions? And if so if Eze is sold the amount we receive will be revealed in next years accounts. Getting grief off some bloke on Facebook who reckons it’s only on the profit and not the whole fee, despite him agreeing 5hat we got 20% for Sterlings move to man.city

We only got 1 million for Sterling originally, so the profit in that case would have been almost the full fee Liverpool received.
It makes no logical sense to think we'd get a percentage of maybe 20 million (with add ons) we've already received from Palace for Eze. It will be on the profit and therefore 7 million or more depending on the sale price and whether the percentage is 20 or 25.

I think its 20% of the sale not the profit as we allowed Eze to join Palace (which he wanted) even though we had better offers on the table. I believe this clause got the deal over the line.
Left back Hayden Box to box midfielder Don’t spend more than 4m and bank the rest
Agree with this. Wouldn't mind if one or more was a loan player either. We've invested a lot in our players in the last two seasons, I'd be happy to maybe get a classy Prem player or two on loan. But please more Edwards than Ashby and ideally having already played in the Championship.
